What we haven't seen in the last few seasons in Manchester City, is now starting to happen to them, before I never saw Manchester City have a losing streak like this season, so indeed the injury of their key players like Rodri seems very affect the performance of Guardiola squad, the extension of Guardiola contract shows that the management still have full trust in him, so indeed the 5 defeats can't be a reason to fire him after he managed to bring their be champions in 4 consecutive seasons, of course Guardiola needs to focus on strengthening the defence and finding suitable replacements for injured players in the transfer market later, but for now it is very important for them get back to winning ways to improve the mentality of the players after consecutive defeat.
In this season, there is only 1 problem that we can see, namely the case of Rodri absence and logically it is a bit unreasonable to only lose 1 important player but the results are bad. While last season lost KDB who was seriously injured, the results still looked good. So there is something bad that is not known behind all this and we will surely slowly find out why the current bad results are actually Guardiola being maintained. And in my opinion City management not only believes in Guardiola but the coach is one of the coaches who understands what the best conditions are for the team. So Guardiola will still be maintained because Guardiola is always successful in bringing in new players.

The club have now lost their last five games in all competitions which I think sends a clear message that they're at their lowest at the moment. Can Pep Guardiola perform a miracle by winning the league at the end of the season? That I think is almost impossible

Everyone is surprised and surely many people lose bets. Man City's condition is not in the best. Many key players were injured and left early in the season. Pep does not have many options for the best players in his squad. Maybe Pep will fix it soon, besides that I read Pep will extend his contract. This means that the management is not panicking with the bad results of the last 5 matches. Remember there are still many matches this season, there are many chances that Man City can still get. Man City must take advantage of this transfer market so that they are able to have the ideal player. Because this season there are many changes that make the club will have more matches, especially in the UCL.

I think Pep will fixed things and bring Man-city back to its glory days. Coaching a club like Man city isn't an easy job and we have seen how Manchester city have proven themselves several times that they are the best.
Pep will not able to fixed things if he still missed a lot of his key players. He needs to buy a new DM who can replace Rodri's role in the squad, or his will collapse otherwise.

City has proven they always able to comeback at the end of season two times in a row, so, nothing impossible, but fixing the main problem in the mid is a must.

We should also understand that in the world of football nothing is impossible and everyday is not a winning day. In the case of Man city loosing to tottenham has proven that the players are not in good terms with the coach and if pep didn't address it on time,it might lead to more losses and fans might start calling for his removal/sack.

It's too early to recall Pep's possibility to be sacked by Manchester City. he has helped club to won 6 EPL trophies and 1 UCL in 8 years. Having a bad season doesn't really matter to the club considering he can rebuild it back again.

The only problem is they got stuck once the ball reached their midfield. Their passing network shows their midfield rarely gave a breaking pass to Haaland. This problem is in their mid, and they can boucne back later after they have a solution for it.

I don't know what is going on in Manchester City. 5 loses in a row and this time 0-4 against Tottenham. Josko Gvardiol had a horrible game and can be blamed for at least two of Tottenham's goals. Manchester City is performing terrible at defense. Pep signed a new contract, but what the hell is he doing to get the team out of this crisis? Maybe Liverpool is about to win this season of the English Premier League and it's not because Liverpool is that good. It's because Manchester City and Arsenal are so inconsistent. Maybe Pep Guardiola is exhausted as a manager and his methods don't work anymore.

This is a very incredible game because no one believes Guadiola will lose that game so easily. The main shameful thing is that they won them at home in the Etihad clean sheet without even adding one goal in the net. Manchester City's performance was very poor in the game, and that is why Tottenham have the opportunity of scoring four goals and achieving three points in the league competition. I don't know why Guadiola didn't start with de Bruyne in the game because is a very key players and he usually perform good and giving nice passed in the pitch and making Haaland score chips goals in a matches.

Haaland isn't even doing well in the game, as he only has one chance to score and squanders it. Now that Rodri is injured, Manchester City can do without him, but they need to improve their statistics, and Guadiola needs to do something if he wants to win the title this season. I believe their next game will be against Liverpool in the Premier League, and I don't think Manchester City can survive because they are playing in Anfield. That will most likely be another loss for Manchester City if they do not prepare themselves and perform well on the pitch. Let's see if Manchester City can stop their losses next week when they play their next game in the UCL.

Tottenham played very well on the counterattack, and also played well in defense, because City attacked quite a lot, 23 shots on goal and not a single goal scored. Yes, this is another unsuccessful match, I could understand if it was one or two matches, but this is the fifth match in a row, well, it looks like Guardiola's team has failed, no team can win all the time, slumps happen, obviously this applies to City too.
slumps happen, obviously this applies to City too... This statement of yours is actually true and the current reality of Manchester City but I think why many of us are surprised is because of the presence of Pep Guardiola as the Manchester City manager and the fact that the squad is star-studded. I don't know what to say, Liverpool will definitely beat weak Southampton today and this will mean that they will be ahead by 8 points, I don't know if it is possible to reduce it.
Defeat seems to have become a hobby for Manchester City or they are bored with winning because they have not won even once in the last five games in all competitions. Tottenham managed to make things difficult for Manchester City by dominating the match, they had no burden whatsoever even though they were playing at the Etihad Stadium.

After James Maddison managed to score two goals in just 7 minutes in the first half, the result of the match was predictable because Manchester City had no creativity at all in their play. Manchester City chances of catching Liverpool who are currently at the top of the standings are getting smaller, Liverpool will try to increase their unbeaten record when facing Southampton and at the same time make the difference with Manchester City to 8 points.

There goes goal number 3, and now City is likely to be served with the most humiliating result if they are not careful with the way this game is going!!!

Am hoping Tottenham can get atleast 7 goals in just to awaken the beast in the next coming games , otherwise nothing salvageable today against high flying Spurs...

Madison has to be taking matchball today, played quite well despite thinking he wouldn't feature  Roll Eyes

This particular situation Manchester city are facing now is something we haven't witness for a very long period of time, I mean this would be the 5th or 6th on a row without a win if am not mistaken although it's includes all competition as they have really showed that the likes of rodri and Kevin missing in that midfield is something that is really hurting the team.
When the Manchester City and Tottenham game started yesterday, Manchester City were dominating Tottenham with full force, and they had some pretty good chances in the first half, but they missed all the chances, but immediately James Maddisson gave Tottenham an early lead in the first half, the match changed, and Tottenham started dominating Manchester City and got a second goal in the first half, which motivated them to play Manchester City with no fear, and they ended up beating Manchester City at home. Yes, the defeat Manchester City conceded against Tottenham yesterday at the Etihad Stadium was their 5th defeat in a row in all competitions, which is also their worst defeat so far since Pep Guardiola became Manchester City head coach.

I agree with you. But compared to last season City only got 3 defeats from 38 matches. But this season they have already got 3 defeats from 12 matches. This shows that they have experienced a decline in performance this season compared to last season. But on the other hand Liverpool's improved performance is also the reason why City potentially cannot defend their title this season. Liverpool is really consistent and has only got 1 defeat. I don't know if City has experienced a significant decline in performance or not. But as far as I remember in the last decade their worst result was getting 6 defeats at the end of the season. And if this season they get more than 6 defeats then we can conclude that City is currently having problems in their performance.
And how is the result now?  Grin The first fact of Man City defeat must be acknowledged, second 5x is a big blow that Pep Guardiola is not always in a comfortable position as a great coach, third when there is a reason Man City lost because the player was injured is no longer reasonable. Tottenham counter attack is very cool, fast and effective so that Man City players are overwhelmed to deal with it.
Man City seems to be in big trouble if it continues like this, there are several things that need to be considered from Man City who have experienced a sharp decline lately, in terms of playing, defending and also attacking they are different, sometimes miscommunication and losing the ball often occur in several matches, maybe injuries are still one of the reasons but not all the reasons, the defeat from The Spurs indicates that they are not doing well.

And we also need to understand that every position of glory there must be a decline, I really believe this, every team has a cycle like this and now it is happening to Manchester City who are experiencing a decline.

Could it be because Pep Guardiola has been at City too long?  Smiley
He was not like that at his previous two clubs, Barcelona and Bayern Munich which he left in good condition if I remember correctly, and he only lasted less than five seasons.
This defeat is not something that City usually gets, especially at the Etihad Stadium, maybe this is a sign for him to leave England to take a break before deciding on a new club to coach.

The problem faced by Manchester City this season is not just injuries to several key players, Liverpool increasing performance is also a factor that Manchester City is starting to have difficulty dominating the standings. If Liverpool had not performed as well as they have this season, Manchester City might still be at the top of the standings. Now Arne Slot is a big threat to Guardiola in dominating the EPL, Liverpool is still consistently maintaining its best performance and this is clearly not good news for Manchester City.
I agree that Man City is not really regressing, it's just that with Liverpool back on track and in their most consistent form, so Man City existence looks like it is regressing, when in fact it is not too significant. Regardless I'm quite happy with Liverpool's comeback as a reminder to Man City that they can't hold onto the Premier League forever.

It was an absolute disaster for the City. They needed a win really badly to end the four-long losing streak. Instead, they got the worst beating in recent history and are now having five losses in a row, something that has never happened since 2006.
And to make things worse, their next league game is against Liverpool (away). If Liverpool wins today (vs weak Southampton) and if they beat Man City next week, they'll be 11 points ahead. At that point, the City could wave goodbye to their chances of defending the League championship.

Manchester City - Tottenham is the biggest event of the week. The game has just started.

Honestly I'm all in Manchester City in this one. I'm saying it confidently even though I know how bad their recent form is. We are talking about losing 4 official games in a row.

However Tottenham are deprived of important names in centre-back position. I think Manchester City will benefit from it well and get a convincing win to end this poor series.  Smiley
Before the match started, the Etihad stadium cheered to celebrate the spectacular Tribute Moment for Rodri after winning the Ballon d'Or, Pedri is also the first Man City player in the club's history to win the individual award. The excitement that occurred before the match started was very much in contrast to the result achieved after the match, the defeat to Tottenham recorded a record of five consecutive defeats in all competitions for the first time in history since Guardiola was taken over.
The defeat further complicates Man City position in the title race this season, Liverpool have the opportunity to widen the gap to 11 points if they win at Southampton.
It was really a shocking result yesterday to me, because I know that Manchester city are out of form in the past couple of of games, but I didn't know that they were this bad, losing a whole four unreply goal to a Tottenham Hotspur side that isn't that exceptional this season, on a sincere note I was really disappointed by the performance of the Manchester city players, though they have so many of their first team players out injured, but that is actually not an excused to lose with such a margin.

So as it stands now, their premier league title ambition is seriously threaten because the they have  lost so many points that they shouldn't be losing, but I believe that their still hope in winning the league title only if they can start ranking up the winnings, and be hoping that Liverpool will drop some point  along the way, because right now their are more than 25 matches left to play, so nothing is won or lost now, they should just improve on their form first, and be hoping for the best.

Unbelievable to see Manchester City's destroyed by Totenham. Such result has broken pep's 54 home games unbeaten record. he also got first five consecutive lose in his career as a football manager.

I can believe if it's Totenham, a trophyless club who did it to him. It's a shameful day for Pep. He got a contract extension from Manchester City then Spurs then bantered him. It likes a fictional story.

I'm still hoping pep can bounce back again very soon, though, his injured players prevented him to do that. There are still moer than 25 games left to turn things around.

Manchester United is already late in being the English Premier League contenders, what Amorim can comfortably achieve is top 4, unless Liverpool begins to misbehave just as Manchester city is doing. But the possibility of this happening is so low. So, it is fine that we all agree that Manchester United is not contenders for the English Premier League title. That is the side effect of Erik Ten Hang.

In the other hand, there's still a good chance for Manchester United and Amorim in the Europa league. Plenty of good legs are not there. The squad is there for Amorim, what he needs is to motivate the players to give their best.

Finishing amongst the first four clubs in the Premier League standing was all I wanted all along at the start of the season,  yes they should be ambitious but top four would be peng finish at the end of the season.
Just Erik ten Hag? How about the lazy players in the squad most of you Manchester United fans are scared of calling out? How about the players who failed to convert chances? Players also should own up in such situations.
