As long as they are able to maintain and to be consistent in every match, then they will be able to win this trophy. If you look at how they have performed so far, they should be able to do it. The next match might be a bit tight because it is against Nottm Forest who is also in such good form. However, Liverpool is also in a pretty good position so this will be an exciting match.
I would like to watch this match, I did not expect that after half of the season Nottingham will be in the top 4. And this match is very important for them, because a win in this match will mean that they will be only three points from the leader, this is the best result they could expect. But for Liverpool it is a chance to show that the defeat in the first match was accidental, and in case of a win they will increase the gap to 9 points, which is also important.

The next match premier league is Brentford vs Man City, what yours thought?.
When we look how the previous match the city very mighty to defeat Salford City with 8 goals without conceded, of course, we have optimist that they will do it again when away to Brentford.
But sure Brentford is not the same as Salford which have competed on 4th tier of the league. Brentford won't let The City squad score many goals at their home. They also have the habit to motivated to win if meet a strong team. they look to understand how to terminate Kevin De Bruyne and friend to improve their skill on penalty box. I'm quite optimistic Mbeumo and friends can make the city overwhelmed to create the goals and Brentford will continue their strategy to counter attack, and the match could ended with draw.

So far Liverpool are in a very strong position to win the trophy this season, with a 6 point advantage and also 1 game postponed from second place of course they are strong candidates as the favourite team, especially since they are still showing consistent and solid performance  when facing big teams and crucial matches, but as we knew, the EPL is a league that is more competitive than other leagues in Europe,  even when a team that is far ahead in the mid of the season but still can fail to win the trophy at the end season.

I don't know how to act, whether to be happy or maybe just normal because Salford is not a team with good quality and moreover Salford is also playing away. As a weak team that only plays in League Two, I think the victory is a natural result. Although perhaps, with the victory will provide better morale for improving Manchester City's performance  in the Premier League and in the Champions League. But still, if it's about the competition in the Premier League and Champions League it will still be a tough competition, and an 8-0 victory like that I think is no guarantee that Manchester City will rise  in the near future.
I think the best way to be sure if Manchester City are back to their old mode of winning every game in the second half of the season is to observe how they will perform in the Premier League and champion's league in the next 5-10 games. If they show any form of inconsistencies, then they should forget about retaining the title.

The latest result shouldn't be a yardstick for their next success.

City's upcoming game is far difficult than what they did at FA cup. They played mostly with their young players, which was showing how weak their opponent in FA. This totally different in the coming week. They will likely struggle against Brentford. An away game with 1.72 odds enough to prove it. They most likely win with narrow score, otherwise, they get draw. I'm thinking to pick double chance. City and Draw.
That was exactly my point in my post that you quoted, City have now won three games in a row for the first time in a long while, against Leicester, West Ham and Salford respectively, but their game in mid-week is a far tougher one. Brentford are a very strong team at home this season, City have picked up some momentum, but if they can beat Brentford it will give them a lot of confidence and it will be proof that they are nearing their good form again.

Moments ago, I read an Article that suggests current league leaders Liverpool can't still be caught by the clubs that are chasing them in the league standings and though some of the statistics I read there suggests that there's every possibility that Arne Slot's men can still be stopped from winning the English Premier League title this season and the fact that they have some difficult away games coming up, I strongly still do not believe that Liverpool might end the season with the English Premier League title.
I had to bring the discussion here and ask us what we make of the debate. Do you think the clubs behind Liverpool in the league standings can catch up with them? Let me read your thoughts.

currently the league journey is still half the season left and anything can happen along the way, So like you, although the statistics are very supportive of Liverpool, but I still think that the competition is not completely over before the match week 38 is played.

I see Manchester City having an away game vs Brentford. After winning 2 games in a row Guardiola's club look stronger. I liked their effort in the last one too. I guess I will seriously think of adding their win into my parlay after a while.  Grin
Now they have won 3 games in a row, because they just beat Salford 8-0 in the Fa Cup, we don't say this often, but this is the first time City are winning three games in a row in a long time. Brentford are a very strong side at home, so it will be a very tough game for City, if City beat Brentford away from home, then i will believe that they are actually back to form and that they have found their rhythm again.

Things change and people become better and perfect over time that is if they are been given a chance to prove the can improve. The fact Potter had short comings in Chelsea doesn't mean He has lost it all when it comes to his managing career. Let's give him that chance at WestHam who knows he might be able to turn things around and prove the speculations of people wrong.

The season is already far spent and much shouldn't be expected of him this season but we should see signs of a great future ahead. If Potter can successfully navigate WestHam through the premier league this season with good records I believe his prestige as a manager will be restored.
For Potter everything changed when he left Brighton, those were his best times and I think maybe he even regrets that he left then, because then he was a hero who was able to bring the team to a new level, and now he is just one of the coaches who failed with Chelsea.

And West Ham is too weak and they have a very bad defense to count on him being able to somehow fix their game, they need to strengthen the defense, for this they need new transfers, but it seems to me that he will have to work with the players he has now.

I know it's not a Premier league weekend as we having FA Cup games..but it's nice to see Manchester City giving these small teams a real beating trying to think they will have a bite of the cake...but man this is a crazy scoreline by the citizens 8 nil and they still wanted to get more goals🎉😎..hope this is a start of a new beginning as the Premier league starts next weekend and they start the challenge to chase league leaders Liverpool!!
Not a chance... There's a huge gap between them and Liverpool. I do think they can mount any pressure on to them even if they were to perform consistently until the end of the season. I think Manchester City will lose so more Premier League games soon.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
I agree that West Ham definitely made a terrible decision, Graham Potter isn't a good one at all, and he should not be considered as someone who is going to end up being that great at all. West Ham fans are aware of it, I have checked the reddit topics there and nobody is too excited, most of them are seeing this as temporary band-aid and that is why I believe we are going to see how he will do but fans are not expecting anything more.
Graham Potter is not a promising manager considering his last career with Chelsea, but it is a matter of fit, maybe with West Ham he can find something different. He does not fit with the Chelsea players, and now is the time to prove once again whether a club like West Ham and its players can work together to cover each other's shortcomings to create perfection. There is no harm in giving him a chance, becoming a manager of a club in the middle of the season does not guarantee satisfactory results.

I think Manchester City has gotten there highest goal today for all there entire match because apart from this there is no other match they scored 8 goals, i no that people will laugh a lot today because Salford was completely outweighed, actually this kind of club does not fit in premier League, however FA Cup has given MccAtee first hard trick, meanwhile Leicester City also hit a similar all time high of Manchester City but only stopping at the 6 goals and Queens Park rangers cancelled 2, Chelsea and Bournemouth 5 goals, actually the few premier League players has turned FA Cup red today.
You are absolutely right, and I'm amazed at how Manchester City scored 8 goals. Although Salford's record is somewhat better and stronger than Manchester City they still failed to score a goal and lost by 8 goals. This shows that Manchester City is improving itself, and if you look at their record now, the first 3 matches are seen together in the win list. Salford has only one draw and one loss in a few matches, and Manchester City has a lot of draws and a lot of losses, and despite winning 2 or 3 matches, those 8 goals are too many for a weak team. Defeated a strong team. Manchester City next match against Brentford who have the same record as Manchester City could give Manchester City another chance to win if they play as well as they did in the Salford match. Manchester City is working hard to improve itself and wants to prove to us that if they are weak, they can be strong if they work hard.

I saw that. It's an easy game for Everton. I were not doubting them to win it. They fought against a team with far below quality than them. It's easy for them to win it. The difference in the quality owned by both of clubs is the reason here.

They made 5 goal attempts, and only 1 successfully converted into the goal. They also get additional goal came from penalty. Not good or bad performance from Everon.

In that he is right, for me without discrediting Peterborough United because they are not a strong team, nor as decisive, Everton are for me on another level, and it is as you say, as long as this team maintains this level and does not lower it they will be able to easily beat this team, of course the game was kind of disorganized, strange, very odd, but even so they managed to get the result, not in the way that many of us expected them to get it but I think they also had good luck and that is what is fundamental, a result and staying away from relegation.

Everton at least did it well. They're playing when the transition happened from Sean to the Moyes. It's a. common thing when they were not playing that good. For me, win is still a win no matter how bad and terrible their gameplay. They get win as the result from their hardwork, but i only doubt their gameplay may not work when they face a strong team in EPL.

They deserved appreciated despite their bad gameplay. I hope it can be a good wake up call for them.

I am sure that we are dealing with how things are going to change. The problem is that we are going to see this being a bit of long term issue for them as well, it is not going to really end up being all about this season, because the worse they do, the worse it is for their future and that will make it a lot better without a doubt.
Why are people concluding that Graham Potter is not a good coach? It seems their decision is mostly determined by his career in Chelsea where he had a bad time. To make a good judgment about his competence let's consider his entire career. He performed exceptionally well in Brighton and that was why he attracted the attention of Chelsea. I also heard him say that his break from football has exposed him to more knowledge about coaching. We don't have to conclude that he would not be a good coach, let's give him a chance to prove himself in West Ham.

Yes, the city is getting revenge for what happened in those clubs before. They have to show that The City is still a strong club and have a player on any position who can score goals in any situation. Pep must be pleased with this achievement because the squad is still looking for to how to recover from defeat on any previous match, and of course this match will boost the confidence squad to continue playing like this on the premier league. Maybe this match is revenge for their defeat against MU the other day, because Salford City is club who owner ex MU player, Ryan Giggs.

Beating Salford City 8:0 at home I don't think is a good way to make a statement. Pep Guardiola knows where he's needed to make that statement which is in the English Premier League and of course the UEFA Champions League but I doubt the Spaniard will be able to easily do that in any of the competitions.
Manchester City this season I don't think will be able to win any other this season apart from the Community Shield they won at the start of the season.
Manchester City’s performance has improved in their last three games, they started winning and they were scoring goals to back it up, and they team looks balanced compared to last two months where they were suffering a lot of defeats due to poor performance.

However, winning these matches doesn’t show that they are back fully just as you said, they need to prove it in the Premier League by going back to the top with their winning streak; while they should as well try their best to make it to the Champions League knockout stage because that’s the main thing the team needs right now in order to maintain their standard.
