There are many nations and governments don't believe data on the Wuhan epidemic that is given by Chinese government so it is very risky to apply such dumb idea and put all clubs, players and staffs under unknown severity in China.
You are right, mate. Most countries in the world don't trust in China lately. Not only about the data, but how China blames USA as the cause of this coronavirus. It shows an irresponsible attitude, so how can we trust the Chinese government to guarantee security while there. With this reality, I'm surprised that there is an idea to continue the season in China. How can?? It is a stupid idea ever, they don't use their brain to think I guess. They can't do that, it is a careless idea and too risky to apply.

Also there’s a major development as a unnamed premier league club has suggested that season continue in China, and in my personal opinion those club officials have lost their mind.
If the season can not continue in England, it should be stop at the last round and decision has to be made somehow to choose the championship and qualified clubs for next seasons of Champions League, and Europa League. There is no reason to transfer all rest matches of Premier League in any other European nations and sure not never be in China. Any decision (despite of continute rest matches and finish the season) will create massive controversies and complaints but the proposal will never be taken into consideration.

There are some matches of Supercup of Italy were taken place in China but to move the whole league to any nation is unrealistic. Additionally, we are facing a pandemic.
Whoever submitted that dumb proposal should get sacked [not that they're going to accept it but why would you go back to a place that kickstarted the spread of this virus + I just read another city in China is now under a quarantine again].

Restarting the league albeit behind closed doors still exposes a lot of individuals to potential infection. So this action can only be implemented when the virus spread has been efficiently managed and contained within the entire country as football requires travel and lots of contacts. All deliberations is dependent on how the nation handles the pandemic in the coming weeks.

Also class act frow Howe, I hope other higher earning staffs can take similar steps so that the not playing staff can remain on the payroll.

It appears to be a good solution for a while however it may ends with a catastrophe. Putting 500 or more people (players, staff, cameramen, security...) in one place with too much close contact at least in games and training is risky. 1 asymptomatic person could spread the infection to everyone. Even if they all carried out the test and were negative, which doesn't guarantee anything, and someone from outside is positive carrying the food for example then he can contaminate them too...
Imo it is a possible solution but it requires so so many precautions!

This idea is proposed for June/July. By that time the virus should be dying off because of the self isolation & restrictions on people in the UK at the present time.

It could be earlier (I hope).  I think in around two or three weeks we could see some improvement.  Esp. now knowing that cloroquine combined with some anti biotics have been getting promising results.

We don't know that yet for sure. I know that most  of the countries are on lockdown and self-isolation orders right now but not until we see that the numbers are actually decreasing can we start to expect some improvements. Right now as of today had 4,000+ additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 bringing the number up to almost 30,000 individuals in that country. Not to mention that there is a possibility that there are these asymptomatic people still not part of that number. I wouldn't say that thing could go better as early as 2 to 3 weeks and even if it was I still don't think that the league will resume that early, we still might see some restricted movements when that time comes.

^  Again, I said 'I think'.  And I didn't say we'll be totally outside the loop.  I said we could see some improvement.  Big difference than what you thought I was thinking.

Edit:  Eddie Howe, first EPL manager who took a pay cut as a form of help.  Classy guy.

@tokeweed I too am sincerely hoping that this virus disappears for good, and then the premier league can resume once again, but the way the officials plan to do it is really scary as they plan to finish the remaining season in 4 weeks and allow up to 5 substitutions to be used. Also there’s a major development as a unnamed premier league club has suggested that season continue in China, and in my personal opinion those club officials have lost their mind.

Eddie Howe is a top manager, he probably deserves a job at a bigger club. He tries to make his team play the right way, there’s no parking the bus.

I don't know much about Eddie Howe as a manager. But if this manager is really good for a higher club, then I think there will be clubs interested in recruiting him as a manager. Let's wait, is there a club that is interested or is he still in the club right now.

Furthermore that’s a great gesture by Eddie, and in a season or two I do see him managing a big team in the premier league.

Hoping so for real. Seeing South Asian countries still having cases after several months making me wonder if Europe will get ride of it faster although the appearance of the infection is relatively recent..
I just check chart and its not going to be good for many Eruopean countries as most of them have 4000+ cases every day its seems not good as this is going to be terrible for them USA already touch 200K numbers its really frustrated even all locked down and peoples now taking all things for safety.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
How do Y'all cope without weekend matches? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
If it was only about the absence of football, then the situation maybe wouldn't be this bad, it's no football plus no movement(total lockdown), now you can't maybe visit a friend, go for dinner or shopping during the weekends to forget about the fact that there are no live football games to watch for now.

But I spend all day with my family, which is great, learning new things and also keeping myself entertained with replays of interesting matches on youtube, cannot be compared to the fun the EPL brings but it's good compensation.

You're right. Nothing beats the live action every weekend. My City (country too) is on lockdown so every day is like a never-ending holiday. Week-inn, week-out I'm at home. If I'm not watching movies, I'm surfing random stuffs on the internet or better still playing games. I think it's a good compensation. Although weekends are more boring.

There is no football anyway, our weekend will be saturated. I also know the situation of this pandemic will last long because until now it is still in the handling of the right side to continue to fight Covid-19.
Even though we are at home what is not saturated every day playing games? is there really no other activity at home besides watching football and meeting at the casino or sports?
Even though we continue to surf the internet we still have to look at the latest developments or don't be lazy to be lazy on a holiday without this weekend, even though this is causing us to still do our best at home.

The most important issue raised, is that decisions across european leagues must tally, which means that if england is ending the season, other european clubs must do so, so that there will be corellation with the european champions and europa leagues.
Exactly what i thought too.
Spain or Italy can not cancel the leagues and yet England will go ahead and complete theirs or crown Liverpool. Everything has to be done in unison. If it's a cancellation, it will a cancellations of this season in all European Leagues or vise versa

Liverpool is maybe cursed not to win the EPL.
They have so big advantage this season and a postponement happened - a pandemic was only able to stop this team!
Hopefully, EPL and FA will find a solution to end both cups this season.

I do not think liverpool is cursed. I used to defend playing out this season, but after reading few blogs on dailymail and bbc football; i finally understood why there are several debates.

1. it is rumoured that, if the 2020/2021 season does not commence in August as stated then there would be losses for Barclays as a whole, and likewise sponporship losses will be massive for football clubs.

2. It is also said that if the present season 2019/2020 does not end, (anytime it does) there will be losses as well.

The most important issue raised, is that decisions across european leagues must tally, which means that if england is ending the season, other european clubs must do so, so that there will be corellation with the european champions and europa leagues.

SO much more, and i do not have full understanding of all, perhaps i can get a better summary of what is to expect.

How are you sure that we are going to win against this pandemic and most importantly during 2020? Grin
I do not say that Liverpool is not one of the best teams across Europe. I am saying that coronavirus raises a barrier to a season that was pretty much done for Liverpool from the beginning of 2020.

Hehe, unstoppable and unbeaten team, stopped by so small thing on this world.

..
But I spend all day with my family, which is great, learning new things and also keeping myself entertained with replays of interesting matches on youtube, cannot be compared to the fun the EPL brings but it's good compensation.

Yeah, spending more time with family and learn something about them. they act like wonderful people  Grin
