Quitting smoking
There are many nicotine replacement therapies that the Centers for Disease Control say are doubling your chances of quitting smoking by reducing the desire to smoke and reducing the symptoms of quitting smoking. These drugs compensate for the nicotine that is addictive but not harmful to smoking.

Quitting smoking can make a big difference to your health and lifestyle. It's never too late to quit smoking, because the benefits of quitting smoking can be felt anytime. For example, if you stop smoking in middle age, or before having cancer and other serious illnesses, you will avoid the greatest risk of death from smoking. The first weeks after quitting smoking are usually the most difficult periods, it takes at least 8-12 weeks before someone is declared free of cigarette addicts and reconciled with his new lifestyle as a former smoker

I quit just after New Year and I haven't had one since.

It was easy for me, all I had to do was stop putting them in my mouth.

I found an article online that helped a lot, it is titled "Never Take Another Puff" by Joel Spitzer. I read it one night and quit the next day. Well worth a read.
http://whyquit.com/joel/ntap.pdf

Joel was one of the first to recognise smoking as an addiction when the medical establishment still classed it as a habit. In the PDF he explains the mechanisms that drive addiction and why patches and gum and all forms of of nicotine replacement hardly ever work.  Read it and then read it again each day for a few days after you quit and you'll have a good chance of kicking the habit.

On a weekend 6 years ago, I read that book https://www.amazon.com/Allen-Carrs-Easy-Stop-Smoking/dp/0615482155, and I never bought a single pack from then. Best read of my life, I guess.

quitting smoking has a great deal of benefit especially on respiration. I am a former smoker. My first experience when I first quit smoking is real. I feel my regular breathing. appetite increases. easy to sleep. but its a tough challenge to stop. BUT the impossible thing can happen even for anyone. first there is a strong will to stop within us and not from others. second if the will is there make sure when you want to smoke a cigarette, you drink one glass of water. if the will to smoke cigarettes comes again, drink another one glass of water. do this more or less 4 or 5 times, until we are satisfied with water. when this stage we do correctly then facilitate the third stage of avoiding our friends who are active smokers with various reasons that are soft and not suspect. never tell our active smoker friend that we are trying to quit smoking because this is the biggest barrier to realizing our dream of quitting smoking.
