Say with poise that you don't smoke. Put the money in a piggy bank you used to spend on cigarettes whenever you have an urge again. See, how much money you can spend on treats rather than wasting on smoking.

I switched to gym and chewing gum. Sometimes I still have  a cigarette, but no more than 3 per month.

This is near and dear to my heart.  I quit cold turkey two months ago.  I have smoked at least 1 pack a day for the last 10 years.  And although I enjoyed it the price was killing me financially.  It has not bothered me as much as I was expecting.  When I get the urge I just get up and move around to take my mind off of it.  The worst was not having a cig with my morning coffee.  Anyhow, good luck.  Cold turkey worked for me.

Quitting smoking is a very painful thing. Long-term smokers already have nicotine dependence. Once Quitting smoking, they may not be able to concentrate. I have tried to use electronic cigarettes to quit smoking, but the effect is not obvious.

Stay determined as if the occurrence of symptoms is nothing for a strong person like you. These symptoms tend to hit you after 12-24 hours and then gradually ease over 2-4 weeks.

Set your mind for few withdrawal symptoms like nausea, headaches, discomfort, craving, and just feeling awful. Since your body has been habituated to the dosages of nicotine for its normal functioning, so these symptoms may whip you up for smoking.

Decide to stop completely rather than gradual withdrawal. Have a strong will towards a healthy life & try to kill your appeal for smoking. So it's better to set a date & stick to your quitting mission.

First you must make your own decision to stop smoking; if you do it just to please others, you will probably fail.

No matter what method or aid you use to help you quit smoking, there is nothing that will help more than your determination to quit. Without that determination people fail. With it, you are far more likely to succeed than the average smoker who only wants to "try" to quit.
