Why? did ripple make an arrangement with banks that makes it centralize? well, still it is a cryptocurrency and ripple will going to live until no one would going to support it anyways. At the moment its support is good.

I would not say that Ripple is a decentralized coin, that is why banks are very interested in it!
I think that will not happen because as far as i know XRP has lots of contract in banks, japan has increased its remittance due to xrp and thats a good sign 
I don't see any point backing up your statement 'ripple will die' , well even if bank decide to create there own crypto that can't kill ripple ,ripple is one of the best ones out today and its going to get better
