There used to be a Soviet "games" in the same vein as the British Commonwealth Games - Victoria in a white ant moment decided to pull out of hosting the games so a cut down version has been cobbled together.

It makes sense that accommodation would be at a premium.

Betting agencies got on board with the Olympics - I can only imagine they will once the Commonwealth Games carnival rolls into town once more.

In the meantime, even though I don't follow the northern hemisphere games (Rugby) closely I'm placing $5 wagers on the favorites which is good when I look back in to see how the teams do overnight.

Picked up a win on Montauban overnight and have just put more bets on other favourites for the Gallagher Cup.

Bristol, Gloucester, Bath, Saracens and Exeter are all expected to win.

I also heard Ruby sevens have been dropped from the cut down Commonwealth Games.

The commonwealth games dont register much here because we are not in
the British commonwealth anymore thankfully!

I believe the Rugby 7's are cut because of the fact that its a team sport along
with Hockey and there are shortages in accomodating the amount of Atheletes.

On the regular Rugby Union club season I havent tuned into the English
premier league yet

Thats the autumn series for Rugby League, The Autumn series for the Rugby Union internationals
start next week with England v New Zealand. There are 6 weeks of matches and Timelord the last
match is Ireland v Australia!!

Its also interesting to see that Georgia and more interesting to see Portugal getting a match each
against Italy and Scotland respectively, I dont expect either to win their matches.

URC continues tomorrow with Round 6

Benetton v Vodacom Bulls - Bulls are favourite but I wouldnt discount the Italian side to be able
to win this @ 2.46

DHL Stormers v Glasgow Warriors - Warriors came close last week to beating the Sharks and
even though the SA teams are very strong at home Glasgow could pull an upset here @ 3.10

They are my two bets, something different than betting on the favourites.

I never really pay much attention to where the teams are playing (having said that, the NRL teams such as the Auckland Warriors and Townsville Cowboys always dig deep when they play at home)

In League internationals this week Fiji ($1.22 who lost last week) are playing the Cook Islands and are favorites again to win, as are Australia ($1.57) and England ($1.29) against New Zealand and Samoa respectively.

In the NZ NPC Wellington ($1.48) and the Bay of Plenty ($2.55) are facing off this weekend with Wellington the firm favourite with punters.

Yeh, I'll sign up during the week.

Looks like the Harlequins were about the only favoured team to loose (against Bath).

Closer to home, the more favoured Fiji lost to PNG in the Rugby League Pacific Challenge. (Fiji mounted a second half rally, but it wasn't enough)

Those odds on Harlequins might have been a bit squeued, Bath are a top
side and are second in the table after 5 rounds. Close enough result all the same
with only 2 points in it at the finish up.

URC

I out a cheeky bet on Glasgow Warriors to beat the sharks but it didnt win,
it was close though 28 - 24! The South African sides are very strong at home.

Ah that all sounds way too complicated for me! and by my reckoning if its too
complicated I would ditch it.

Rollbit   is definitely worth a twist. In terms of Rugby they are
covering way more now than they did 3 years ago when it was just the top
tournaments they covered.

They have recently started covering the Welsh super league and as you pointed
out above the Argentinian URBA Top12 but I would have to do a fair bit of research
on those teams before betting on them.

Hopefully @darxiaomi / @darbitmobilerecovery can give us an intro on that league?

I'm doing $1 or $2 parlays that almost never win (I live in hope) one site does systems where you pick up to five matches and you can do combinations of e.g. two matches parlayed, three matches, four .... So if one team looses, but four win, you still have multiple wins of parlays.

As to my long term crypto betting site mentioned above, they now limit deposits to a minimum 5 mbtc ($350/$500) with withdrawals being very restrictive too.

Compounding this the min bet was dependant on the price of crypto e.g. 0.04 but now the min wager is dependant on the payout being 0.01 so on a bet with $1.14 odds you would have to wager 0.1 odds of $2 you could get away with a 0.05 bet.

With an initial 5.0 mbtc deposit, and betting on short odds you'd realistically only have 50 X 0.1 bets. Then, once the funds fall below the withdrawal minimum you'd then have to work to build the funds up, or as I'm doing run them out.

I haven't used the site for a while, but discovered I still had 1.01 left on there. Teams such as the Romans loosing are helping to dwindle that pot away.

OTOH, the other site I mentioned which does systems is building slowly over time.

I might sign up for the betting agency in your signature.

URC Round 5

Like yourself Timelord I'm going with some favourites. Odds arent great
but it builds the wallet!

I suspect you are doing parlays but I'm not going that route.

Bulls @ 1.15
Stormers @ 1.43
Edinburgh @ 1.15

One match which stands out for me which could be up for an upset.

Sharks v Warriors - Sharks are favourite at home @ 1.34, currently sitting in 14th
on the ladder, warriors @ 3.10 currently sitting on 2nd!

Wigin to win next weekend!

I've had another very successful weekend simply backing the favourites rather than the teams I feel are going to win. (In saying that I would have bet on Waikato over Tasman, so it's not an infallible system).

Yea, I think for Rugby its definitely the way to bet! Cardiff losing this weekend upset my
100% record too, all other bets won!

URC

Interestingly Benetton are favourites at home against the Sharks @ 1.56. Thay
havent gotten off to a great start this season, there could be an upset here with
the Sharks priced @ 2.34.

I didnt bet on this match but the favourites won and there wasnt an upset. Great to see them
winning and by a handsome amount too 38 - 10!

URC

Top 14

And interestingly Aviron Bayonne v Stade Rochelais is even at 1.89 v 1.89, I
would have expected Rochelais to be favourite here?

And this one too, I didnt bet on this but was wrong in my assumption that La Rochelle
would win, they were heavily beaten 37 - 7. I will be keeping an eye on La Rochelle
to see how they progress, they finished 2nd last season.

I'm seeing similar prices in the United Rugby Championship:

Benetton $1.65
Cardiff $1.46
Edinburgh $1.58
Leinster $1.11
Blue Bulls $1.36
Ulster $1.60

Closer to home in the New Zealand (NPC) fixtures we have

Taranaki $1.44 and Tasman $1.50 to beat Waikato and Canterbury respectively.

In the Women's international Italy are at $1.58 against South Africa $2.50

In League the Australian Prime Minister's XIII are unbackable at $1.04 while the Papua New Guinea Prime Minister's XIII at languishing at $11.00

The women are Australia $1.91 and PNG $17.00 👀

*Edit* I've had a few wins and a handful of losses so far (which always mucks up my parlays) - all in all I broke even so far.

Round 4 has started with Glasgow Warriors v Parma and is going the way of the
home side now in the second half.

My bets for this round are:

Cardiff at home to beat Scarlets @ 1.43
Ospreys v Blue Bulls - Bulls to win @ 1.34
Dragons v Lions - Lions to win @ 1.29

Interestingly Benetton are favourites at home against the Sharks @ 1.56. Thay
havent gotten off to a great start this season, there could be an upset here with

Top 14

A few bets on the top teams

Racing 92 @ 1.33 to beat Toulon 7's
Lyon @ 1.29 to beat Stade Francais

And interestingly Aviron Bayonne v Stade Rochelais is even at 1.89 v 1.89, I
would have expected Rochelais to be favourite here?

No, you are dead right, they were some nice winnings, I dont have anything near those
winnings, although I play mostly for fun with small Satoshi's.

I'm going to try tune into the French Top14 tournament soon. I guess I will
be keeping my interest on the likes of Toulouse, Stadt Rochelles, Bordeaux Begles
and Racing 92, thats based on those teams being the strongest last year and kind
of how the table looks now after 5 rounds.

Given how much I won over the weekend, I don't mind putting $10 on both the Panthers and Storm to win next week with their odds at $4+ each (might be the best price I get).

Panthers @ $2.10 was a great price - hard to bet against them, I had them at $1.90 too.
Its very brave to go again with them for the 2025 season, why not though! I'm not sure
about Storm though, OK they have been fairly consistent over the last few years,

2023 - finishing 3rd on the ladder
2022 - finishing 5th on the ladder
2021 - finishing 1st on the ladder
2020 - finishing 2nd on the ladder
2019 - finishing 1st on the ladder
2018 - finishing 1st on the ladder
2017 - finishing 1st on the ladder

and from 2020 the Panthers have been either in 1st or 2nd position on the ladder . . .
maybe they are worth a bet indeed.

Leinster to win the URC Championship this year is a solid bet but the South African teams
have been so strong. Leinster being so close to both the URC title and the European
Champions Cup last year will be really itching for some silverware this year.

At kickoff, the Melbourne Storm were $1.77 with the Penrith Panthers sitting at $2.10 - by the 70th minute the Storm's price was $26.00 and betting had been suspended on the Panthers.

A week ago when the two teams had been decided, I bet on the Panthers at $1.90 to win (both teams were at $1.90 for the first four days) I also put money on the Panthers winning by 1-12 points ($3.90).

I also bet on the Women's Roosters in what I thought was a more thrilling game - the hens out 24 point on the board in the first (35 minute) half then didn't score again until nearly full time while the Sharks crept ever closer with a number of tries.

Early betting on Penrith next year is at $4.50 and Melbourne ($4) so Ive put $10 on both teams to win (makes the odds 2:1 but still)

(CloudFlare playing up again yesterday). I would have liked to make mention putting bets on five favourites yesterday.

England's Women, Clermont and the Saracens all won so all up I picked up $250 in wins and cross team parlays .

(And if I'm not mistaken, the New Zealand men won over England paying out $2.50 🥳 )

I'll keep an eye on Leinster who are sitting at $3.50 to win the series. (I've put $5 on them to win 🤪 )

Wigin to win next weekend!

Well my 54.5 over bet on Benetton and Leinster didnt work out - Benetton 5 - 35 Leinster.

I know its early days but after 3 rounds Leinster hit the top spot unbeaten, I figure
they will go for the most part of the season unbeaten.

NRL
Yes it happened, 4 straight titles in a row. Panthers take the title, Storm 6 - 14 Panthers.

As I said, Panthers are a different animal when they get into the Grand Final.
