In any case, ICO needs government regulation. Fraud, when large sums of investors are appropriated, is a crime and the state is obliged to intervene and look for not only criminals, but also ways to protect the victims so that such crimes do not recur. States have been inactive for a long time already. However, simultaneously with the legalization of cryptocurrency, the state will be forced to regulate the activities of ICO.

It's better to avoid scam projects if we find, indeed there are so many promising projects and this, of course, we must be smart to find it.
If you find a scam project then stay away from it.

The current fraud project has dared to appoint a real team, they have a discussion by making video recordings, as if their project is successful and has better technology, hopefully there is a way to handle the ico scam project because it harms many people.
perhaps what can be done to prevent this is to be increasingly tightened on all regulations to conduct ICO projects. because now it's very difficult to determine which projects are safe and which are dangerous, because the difference is very thin

Check their idea and their product first. Its the important one. Cause if their idea is really a brilliant idea and their product is good too then of course it will attract the investor to join them.
After that check their developer background skill.

We still have nothing in our arsenal of new tools, so I think it would be best to also hone the opportunity to analyze the projects that are on the market today, so we just try to find out everything we can about the team.

There are many scam ICO's projects and it is not safe to invest them now. I'm not an investor, I do bounty, airdrop only.
As my way, I usually check project before participating in or ask some of my friends who have experience in evaluating the project and decide to join which project.

Now there are a lot of scams on the market, as it is difficult to check and prove fraud. It is necessary not to believe very fast and tempting offers, to study, to find communities and to invest in such perspective small means which it is not a pity to lose.

The only way we can do is leave the project as soon as possible after we know that the project is a scam and don't overthink about the rewards because they will not pay the bonus to the participants. You need to know the details of the project before you join and make sure that you already make conversation with the manager and the team, so you know how good the project. Although it is not guaranteed, at least you can think twice to join in that project or not, and it will make you more careful.

I believe what we should as at now, is to move on to another project, many projects these days are just out there to scam people and nothing is been done about it, it is very annoying.

Why this year took the lead was due to how easily ICOs raised money within split secs last year so every Tom decided to deploy their smart contract, draft a whitepaper full of many lies and grab investors money. What I do no is if such a project don't have an MVP or haven't been in business in the real world, I don't invest.

This year we have witnessed many scams projects that we have invest in more than others years.  I think scamming activities is high this year more than others years and I will like to find out the way out of this. Are we going to find solutions for this by developing more security projects? I think we can kick scammers from icos market and if we can not do this governments should come in and help this market.

I don't think a government cares about the scammers. We need to take care of ourselves by ourselves. The effective way of doing this is sharing your negative experience and knowledge here on this forum. This way we can inform each other about the scam projects and prevent other people from getting into that trap too.

Basically this. More people need to speak up for better or worse. Knowledge is power.

It is very difficult to distinguish a good project from a scam, even if you carefully study everything. Scam a lot and we need him to do something.

There is nothing we can do but learn from an error, for the future, if you will invest in Iico, you must really learn in detail about the ico, do not choose the wrong one that will cause you to get nothing

Yes, I agree with you. Fraud in ico projects has become much more! 90% ico is a Scam. Before participating in the project, it should be carefully studied.

Not only do analysis need to know in advance what you will get or nothing at the end of the project Grin, if you take the time to make sure and find enough information about that project. But according to my observation, only up to 75% of the ICO's projects are fraudulent, not to 90% as you said. Roll Eyes

In order not to fall into the hands of scammers need to be careful when choosing a project for investment. More to study the documents and team members, the most important thing that the company's product was interesting and preferably ready. I personally consider only those projects that have finished goods (products) and advise you.

I agree. The government should be aware of what is happening on the ICO and they need to get involved so that they can minimize the number of scam ICO's. It's luke having a police in a community. Their presence itself will stop those scammers. I think it is much better than letting them do what they want. We already seen the results.l and its not good for anyone.

I think its really hard to distinguish a project that will last for long term, every funds on ICO we invest is 50/50 so I always invest what I can afford to lose. There is no assurance that the project will become successful and not gonna exit scam. For a higher chance of success, I must say always diversify your investments portfolio.
The investment in ICO now looks like 30/70. 70% is ICO scam and we can meet if not careful. I have invested more than 12 ICOs and only 4 ICOs are successful for me, an alarming rate for investors
