Balanced post by ST, nice mention of ACCESS at the end.

Nah, calls its crypto-currency 101, but rushes passes everything, they even published an ap article on an ipo which was treated by crypto experts as a highly possible scam. ST tech journalism is aweful

Hello Cryptocurrenciners,

New to this group and hope to meet up with some cryptocurrency enthusiasts in Singapore.
Just hop onto mining Ethereum, also have some bitcoin and played around with some faucet and mining pool to earn some extra BTC here and there.

Considering to setup a home mining in Singapore, did some calculations comparing mining from Malaysia and Singapore, since the Mh/s may not be super high, therefore might only do it from home in Singapore. Any Singapore miner here?

the "brother" is actually the brother (younger).  he has been living/working there since 2010 with his wife (indian passport, singapore ep for both).
i have moved back to Mumbai in 2012 after spending 4 years in SG.

what about the bitcoin atm?  which works out to be the most economical way in singapore for the buyer to acquire BTC (prices + fees incl.)?
I've been using the Bitcoin ATM for sometime. Its really fast and require no verification but you have to go to Chinatown, outside WorkLor which can be quite far. The pricing is usually a markup too.

I'm planning to use fyb-sg in the near future, they seem rather promising to me. Localbitcoins is a decent choice, some sellers may require an IC verification though.
Hi all,

I have moved out of Singapore since a few years (but not a citizen there) and still have some money in my Singapore bank account which I want to put into BTC.

Does anyone have an idea how would I go about buying BTC with the SGD in my Singapore bank account without physically being in Singapore?

Thank you!
Localbitcoins. Fyb-SG requires at least both side of an IC or the passport plus utility bill.
Where can my singaporean friends buy bitcoins?

I would say localbitcoins, the atm has a pretty high premium as of 2 years ago, not sure now though

hello, i wanted to setup an account to buy BTC for my brother who lives in SG.
could you local members please recommend a good platform in Singapore to buy/trade cryptos? A quick search online shows:

CoinHako
FYBSG
Coinbase
Luno

any suggestions?

is the "brother" yourself lol

We won't eat you up, get him his own BCT account? Haha

That aside, localbitcoins have some trustworthy sellers, although the premium may be high. Have not used Coinhako for months, used to last year. As always FYBSG was the first bitcoin exchange in singapore, I think they accept bank xfers last I used them , they also require verification too. As a last choice you can try Coinbase, although they tend to fuck up your contact details causing problems if you want to buy with a bank account, especially if you have both an english name and a chinese name, or the other equivalents in other races. Have not heard of luno actually, weird.

If you need any help feel free to ask here or in the main boards, or even pm if you want. Will reply when I check here.
