Speaking of fantasy Trofo, I've totally given up as I've no idea which teams are playing and which players aren't, not that it's this situation that caused me to neglect it in the first place. Just now any small hope I had of resuming my fantasy is completely buried now...

Today even the first game was called off two hours ago as Villains have an outbreak, meaning most clubs in Englad now out so with only Leeds-Arsenal tonight and I wouldn't bet on the game going ahead too with all these last-minute postponements.

Now we seriously have to consider the possibility of yet another season derailed. Bloody hell.

Guys, is someone following the news? Who knows when there will be game weeks in which teams play several matches at once?
That usually gets crammed in towards the end of the season when days get free. Schedule is hectic and places will start to open up as the teams drop out of European competition and domestic cups. However, top teams will stay in all of them till the end it will be almost impossible to find the day to play these postponed games for them.

Usually happens in the game weeks 28-34 if past Fantasy experience is good criteria of how this season will look.

Manchester United have a lot of pretty easy games ahead, so I have no doubt that they will quickly close the gap with the top three (although I could be wrong as I thought they would easily beat Watford, it was a fiasco in the end). To be honest, it seems unlikely to me that Manchester United will concede their place in the Champions League to anyone, especially given the arrival of Ralph Rangnick and Ronaldo's ambitions (including his goals this season in the CL).

Speaking of the CL, I remembered that in two years time there will be new rules, adding one additional slot in the four leading leagues in En, Sp, It and Ger.  Roll Eyes

It's good that you reminded me of this, because yesterday I smiled rather ironically looking at the table, and at the current gap between the teams, (although before that I thought that Ramsdale is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League).  Shocked

agree, but bearing in mind that Arsenal started with 0 points from three rounds, and goal difference 0:9, they are simply doing great at the moment
could not see them on CL position in the end, but with United having all the shitty play this season, West Ham is beatable, Tottenham as well, so it is not impossible

goal difference is least of Arsenal problems at the moment, and CL fight in full swing

Thanks for congrats everyone and yes, I should count myself "lucky" to have only 7 games to get a cap but it all evens out I guess. I'm really shocked also how good I am doing in this game. A lot of close points and slam points, but in the other pool for La Liga, which is supposed to be my specialty, I'm very near the bottom. I guess I have to make a new assessment about how well I know Spanish league ;(

Thanks to our captain for saving us from wooden spoon lol

Oh and it's 4 games now only, but we will have BIG matchweeks when they play all the postponed games.

What are the chances of the league not been put on temporary hold with the way things are currently ?
Don't panic ... let's think logically and look at this situation from the side of financial losses.

The entire football league in England is largely driven by TV revenues, including the Championship. If last year matches with empty stands cost the clubs two billion dollars, then a complete suspension of the tournaments would be a real disaster. Clubs will have to pay the players and the staff colossal compensation, not to mention the disrupted TV contracts, so neither UEFA nor the rule of Great Britain will take this step under any circumstances.

[...] the most generous with goals.

OO wow woohoo! Looks like I won this round's yellow cap yay! LFC_Bitcoin I thought would get it but day before yesterday games went my way!

Wooden spoon for me  Cheesy

Burnley - Watford has just got postponed due to covid. I feel like this is biggest virus problem in England and consequently Premier League since that first lock down when whole league was on pause.

How bad is the situation in England actually? Is there realistic chance to stop the league? I hear Leicester is also hit hard and their games could get postponed as well.

Probably depends who you ask and what you define as bad. If you consult the media and government then it's potentially the zombie plague and you should stay inside under all circumstances as we're all going to die, possibly. Or if you turn off the news and carry on as normal everything will be ok and you probably wouldn't even notice anything, except you might end up catching a mild winter cold. Doesn't look to be many if any players coming down with symptoms just testing positive which isn't that surprising when they're probably testing every day or so. I'm sure they're fit enough to play but if you test positive even without symptoms they won't let you play. I'm sure more games will be called off  this month.

Surprised that Chelsea screw it up yesterday,I can now exclude it from the title fight, teams fighting for the title do not make false steps when playing at home against a weaker team.
agree, but I am happy that we left London with a draw

I was very surprised too, especially if you look at Chelsea's last few games,,, they went from the most stingy defence to now in the top 10 EPL teams the most generous with goals. I think it was really lucky for them to get the goal too,

I still do not think their position affects the ratings on them though,,, this is December and many teams without City experience will struggle. After 17 games and only 4 points from the top is not really anything.

team was really a mess, some youngsters played, we nearly had ball in our possession last night, but succeed to score fast after conceiving goal, and that was enough, important point for Everton in the end

Liverpool won over Newcastle, easily and it will probably be fight between them and City, if they survive next month

OO wow woohoo! Looks like I won this round's yellow cap yay! LFC_Bitcoin I thought would get it but day before yesterday games went my way!

It will be nice to have this too as the last freebet I won I put in on a special that included the postponed Watford game so it was voided (I hate when freebets are wasted like this). So who do I see about claiming it, it just comes in right? Smiley

And thanks for reminder leea I won't go for surprises in these few games Smiley

Congratulations on winning the yellow cap.A lot of postponed games due to Covid 19 during this time but nevertheless tomorrow starts a new week. However at least four games out of six games tomorrow are postponed so only two games for Saturday but at least on Sunday only one game the Leicester one is postponed and all other three will take place,so this week will be only with 5 games in total,it will be a strange one probably with the yellow being really low on points.

I have no idea what is going to happen to my club but now I see that Superbru asked me to add in 4 games in upcoming few days,,, so make sure guys you do it, and Spurs versus Liverpool is the next game for me.

The odds are surprisingly good at 4x even though supposedly we have many 1st team players out, so if you guys want a good value, bet against my team  Embarrassed

At least I did somewhat better in the round, I finished 4th position for the round, and I'm up to 13th in the ranking... There wasn't too many unexpected dramas.

What are the chances of the league not been put on temporary hold with the way things are currently ? at least 5 games from the weekend have been postponed already.

I finished 8th,was so close to getting a correct result on Chelsea and that would have boosted me to the top 10. At least i have moved no to 11th position and expecting in next round to finally reach the top 10 positions. The way things are going i wouldnt be shocked if it was paused.

@buwaytress I’m doing well lately but I was terrible for the first 10-12 games. It’s all a bit too late for me. Hopefully LFC give Newcastle a good slapping tonight. Van Dijk, Fabinho & Curtis Jones all out with COVID  Embarrassed
I also had a couple of very successful rounds lately, but yesterday's matches knocked me out of the line.

By the way, I am surprised how the players manage to infect each other on the field, and I get the impression that it’s not the gameplay at all, but the fact that after the match the players run from the locker room to the locker room. And judging by the news, Manchester United's whole team got sick at all ... the irony is that Tottenham, like MU, canceled the last match just after the game with Norwich, (apparently the guys understand that they will fly out of the tournament, and decided to arrange a sabotage). So it won't be surprised if the next quarantine team is Aston Villa.  Shocked

AFCON will be though for Liverpool, even if they were just loosing Salah it would be devastating since he is in the best form of his career but loosing him and Mane at the same time could place serious dent in the attack. Especially if Firmihno does not get back from injury.

Yeah, and the situation could change there. Afcon says the tourney must go on but things could change drastically with UK travel restrictions. I sense a storm brewing. Bobby will feature for sure, I'm not worried about him, but I'm not sure how Firmino-Jota-Origi-Mina will play, possible a change of formation to fit that in. Crazy month Jan if so.

Btw, congrats on getting back to the top of the leaderboard! Whatever you say, you are literally the best in our pool in predicting exact scores. 66 so far, pretty impressive. Smiley

Heh thanks, honestly thought I'd slip back down after a terrible night last night (wrong end of 1-0 prediction and draw which I really didn't think was coming for Palace). 3-0 and 3-1 if I'm not mistaken are my best performing predictions this season, when predicting on the favourites (4-0 hasn't hit but also brought me close scores). LFC_Bitcoin and slaman are killing it this time, and even rdbase has been on a 2-week tear...

@Betwrong @cygan: Leeds 19/1 to win, of course I bet on it. I've not predicted 100% with my bets in this season's pool though Wink

Yeah, normally when I see such odds, I bet $0.50 just in case.

Interesting results for this one, Man. City - Leeds United, in our pool:

Absolutely everyone of us, 48 out of 48, predicted Man. City to win, yet nobody was even close to the right score.

Btw, congrats on getting back to the top of the leaderboard! Whatever you say, you are literally the best in our pool in predicting exact scores. 66 so far, pretty impressive. Smiley

and apparently Conte says now Premier League rejected his request to postpone another game.
"Leicester City v Tottenham set to be postponed because of Covid-19" https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/59683741

Chelsea also confirmed covid cases in the squad, but they're still gonna play today

well, at this point, the next matchday will get postponed for sure...grim  Sad
