^  Try getting him into football.  Start them young.  Grin

I'm not watching any of the matches, I just check the scores atm.  Sometimes I need to stay away from watching and reading about it from time to time.

Anyway, I took a sucker's bet today. Parlayed Palace at 11/1 with Liverpool for just shy of 20/1. I'm going to watch both games on TV so I'm going to be growing roots on my couch in about 5 minutes.

I am also planning on watching both games from home but I envy you on possibility to grow roots on couch. Can't even remember last time I watched whole game. I have a small kid and it is very rare occasion if I manage to sit half an hour without having to stand up and take care of something.

@LFC You're watching this game I assume? I'm really quite peeves that the bookies only got Liverpool for 1.7 on this game. I know it's a home game but we were 1.45 against Southampton. Surely Chelski are rated a lot better than the Saints?

^  Don't worry about the points system if you play at SWC, the site will handle it...  And NLHE is kinda boring for me after playing it for a good while everyday years ago.  I prefer PLO and would like to learn how to play short deck NLHE if I get some motivation.  Lol.

Anyway here's the site's thread:  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/swc-poker-bitcoin-poker-holdem-plo-mixed-mtt-bbj-big-btc-5068812

They've been doing a lot of work and it's the BTC poker site I def recommend.

I liked it until the part titled scoring. Seems way too complicated for dynamic game like poker, especially when there are more players. Must say I prefer good old Texas hodl'em (see what I did there). There doesn't seem that Chinese has same mental component as Texas, you know the part when you try to trick the opponents when raising the stake based on nothing in your hand. If I got it correctly you just assign the value of a point and at the end settle between all players.

^ ^  Heh ok...  I was hoping an HU battle in Chinese Poker at SWC for the whole 30m bucks.  Lololol.  Anyway whoever wins the league works too.  Less exciting tho.  Grin

I'm of course going to back Trofo to win, but I think the spirit of the game is correct and less troublesome (higher finish on the official Premier League table at the end of the season). Actually, I think at this stage it's even safe enough to say whichever team you back becomes champions.

Let's not forget, there is the highly unlikely but still possible event a team could be docked points by the FA... and that's at their discretion if either team say, "brings the game into disrepute". Would that impact the bet? I recall a similar case in Serie A with some friends when Juventus were stripped of their title. We didn't ask for refunds though haha.

P.S. You should look up Chinese poker some day, it's highly addictive for a laugh and is more strategic than basic poker.

Allow me, gentlemen! Quoted the post below mine.

To sum up, $30 to:
tokeweed if City finish with higher points than Liverpool at end of season.
Trofo if Liverpool finish with higher points than City at end of season.

The way you guys made it, though, it seems level on points would mean bets are off?

Thanks for the help. Our wording could have been better I admit  Grin

^  Hah!  I forgot about that tbh.  If level on points, maybe the winner could be decided by goal difference (boring), a coin flip (interesting, but how and where), a poker game (hopefully Chinese Poker at SWC Grin)...?

Trofo can choose, but I hope it's the final option.  Lol (no seriously, the final option).

WTF is Chinese Poker at SWC? Please enlighten me and maybe you'll sway me to your way of resolving ties  Grin I would also envoy a coin flip while watching Champions League final in some pub with pint of beer (I believe it is after PL ends) but probably unfeasible due to geographical discrepancies.

A bit more seriously, despite our not ideal wording I thought the spirit of the bet was to correctly predict which team will end in front of other. What is good enough for official PL is good enough for me. So if you agree, let's make it that winner is the one whose team is officially crowned as champion.

We also have a CL pool I'm still in with a shout! And don't forget to put your picks in. Friday night action with Newcastle, who I'm backing just shy of 6/1. They aren't great away and Leicester are incredible after a Vardy revival, but Friday is Friday, and anything can happen and I'd love for Rafa to confirm attendance in Premier League asap. GO TOON ARMY =p

Anybody wanna make a 55/45 side bet vs me?  I say Man City still ends up with more points than Liverpool by the end of the season.  Wink

Nothing big.  Just 10 bucks.  I can take up to three takers or just one at 30 bucks.

I am in. 10-30$ is same for me. You chose and accept before the game starts today or we wait until next week.

Ok...  I choose City.  And let's go for 50/50 since going for 55/45 won't really make that much of a difference (just three bucks.  Lol).

And if you want to go 30, then let's go.

Me:  City
You:  Liverpool

Club that ends with higher points at the end of the season wins the pot.

Quote and confirm.  Thanks.
Confirmed 30$.

Since you were a bit generous with the odds it is only fair that I confirm the bet in the halftime of Liverpool match which isn't going so good for them  Grin Hope for better performance in the second half and brace for Salah (he is captain in my Fantasy team)

Hey guys, I know I have a side bet (30$?) with one of you for the winner of PL but don't remember the particulars. Please refresh my memory, not what it used to be  Grin

Currently on the mobile so I wasn't able to find related posts in this thread. Anyway it looks every bit a tight race as it was on the day the bet was made. Maybe the odds shifted a little bit on my competitor side.

^  Yup tougher matches for City.  That's why City has the kind of squad (and the bench) they have.  I think they're really going for the quadruple even tho Pep keeps saying it's impossible.  He's prolly just trying to take the edgy feeling off his players.  Lol.

I still think they’ll get past Spurs & make the CL semi final even though they lost the 1st leg 1-0.
But yeah....it’d be great if they put all their efforts into making the CL final & had a couple of slip ups in the PL Wink

Still, even if they were out of the CL, they'd still have some tougher matches to play.  The Manchester derby is still in a couple of weeks ffs.

And they got Palace away this weekend.  You never really know with Palace when they're at home.  They got Tottenham again in the league, right after their CL match.  Then Burnley away.  That's kinda tough too.

We'll see soon enough but I am expecting Spurs to play another great game and make things difficult for the City. Before the first game i had a feeling this one could go into extra time and I still think so, just tough we would have draws and Spurs surprised me and won first game. Who knows how would the game developed if Lloris didn't save the penalty in the early stage of the match.

@buwaytress - Yeah we might have shot ourselves in the foot after this week's performances, the National League is going to go right down to the wire!  Undecided

I mentioned in the other EPL thread that I'm still backing Liverpool to win the title. I've just had a look at the remaining games and I'm predicting 13 points for Liverpool and 14 for Man City, meaning the Reds would take the league by a point.

Final Four Prediction:

Liverpool - 95 points
Man City - 94 points
Tottenham - 76 points
Chelsea - 74 points

Arsenal have some key players that seem to be struggling to perform, and Man Utd have a couple of tricky fixtures in the last few games.

Does Eddie Howe have a hair dryer?  I think he needs to use it right about now on Begovic.  Lol.

It's a good first half so far, Bournemouth vs Burnley.  But not as fun to watch when you're bet isn't on the right club.  Sad

@Cloudbet, awesome and yes I recall the Leyton Orient mention in another thread (don't know if you recall my own association with them from a video game haha). I'm really behind in my football these days tbh, but I still faithfully keep up with Liverpool ever since I started properly following circa 2000 running up to their "haul of five". I really only couldn't watch them for the majority of seasons around 2011 and then again in 2015/16, but that was because of work in places without tv or internet. You're 7 games away from promotion, so good luck;)

@LFC you bet I am! I was up since 5am trying to rush off all my pending work so I can make dinner early and then sit by myself and watch. I'm going to keep betting singles on Lpool till the last game, and keep betting against City till the last game. I know they're too good to drop more than 2 point but who knows? The stars may yet align!

@buwaytree - You looking forward to the game tomorrow night - S’ton vs LFC?

Really is a must win isn’t it. We need to keep up with City until they have this run of gsmes -

C Palace (A)
Spurs (H)
United (A)
Burnley (A)

That’s 3 out of 4 games away from home. I believe they’ll drop points in at least 1 of those games.
We need to beat S’ton tomorrow & I believe we will.

I got offered 2 x tickets for tomorrow but turned them down. Friday night game, Southampton is fucking miles away too. I worked out I wouldn’t get home until about 3 - 4 in the morning because it’s an 8pm kick off. With the football traffic & getting away from the ground it’d be late AF.

Any way 3 points tomo - COME ON YOU REDS !!!!

@buwaytress - We have a bunch of guest writers and tipsters for various sports and topics, you can usually find them all at the Cloudbet blog under the 'previews' tab.

We are always on the lookout for new writers (and we pay in btc!) so if anyone thinks they are up to the challenge then feel free to hit up [email protected] for further info.

When it comes to soccer betting I tend to stick to the National League as it's where I have the most knowledge. It's mostly bets placed against my team (Leyton Orient) so I'm happy with either a win for the team or some consolation winnings for the pub afterwards! That said, if I see some tasty odds on an EPL game I'm often tempted into dropping a small wager, especially if it's one I'm planning to watch live with friends.
