slaman went top, sending regrettable congrats (you bastard Cheesy)

Games tonight though so fingers crossed I score well Smiley

Thank you! I got a close score on all the games last night, so I don't mind getting close scores for everything tonight, usually I can hit 2 exact scores a week, but as long as I keep the pressure on the top for a few more weeks I don't mind!

We probably have same scores tonight, Liverpool should win of course but I am half-changing my scores for United/Arsenal every few hours. It's impossible that we're thinking Arsenal can beat them easily at Old Trafford but the team is not the same one anymore.

Yeah I think the key to doing well in this tournament is consistently hitting the 1.5 points for close & 1 point for correct result. It’s really difficult to get a lot of exact scores (if we could all do that we’d be rich from gambling).
It’s a lot more achievable to constantly get 5 or 6 close/correct results per match week.

As for tonight there are lots of points to be won.
I’ll be happy if I hit somewhere in the top 3 at the end of the season Cheesy

Oh man. I didn't even realise I got the wooden spoon last week. Not my best work, haha. Climbed back up 2 places from the 4 games today though, so hopefully the rest of this week will continue to bring some more luck for me.

Some ridiculous football today. Shane Duffy headbutts van Aanholt within approximately 12 inches of the ref for an instant red card, and then 10-men Brighton go on to win 3-1 anyway. Palace's defending during Brighton's third goal was utterly shocking. And Cardiff get an early penalty which Fabianski saves, and then they get beaten 3-1 as well. And City only win by one goal instead of their usual 4.

Look forward to Arsenal - United tomorrow. Also wondering how Leicester fans will react to Ranieri.

I was at the game with my brother, we started to walk down the steps to leave on 95 mins just as VVD had that crap shot, luckily there was a queue to get out so I saw the goal. It went mental when Origi’s goal went in, for some reason I looked over to the linesman & then the referee because I was worried it’d gone over the bar/line before Pickford touched it.

My ears were ringing as we left.

Fucking brilliant Cheesy
I was literally thinking to myself all game that there's just no way we score unless they mess up so bad, because Liverpool just wasn't clinical enough, and the front three just didn't look like scoring. Then that happened. For some reason I just kept watching all the way through. Where as if its that dire normally I just have it on in the background. Absolutely mental. I don't know what Pickford was thinking. I literally had the same reaction as Van djik. You could see he was frustrated, and I was frustrated that he fluffed it. But, yeah....I don't really know what to say as its just so bizarre.

Midweek game. Should be relatively easy for Liverpool against a struggling Burnley. Burnley are no longer the side to fear when playing them at their home ground.

Meh.
There are midweek fixtures, just in case you guys didn't know.  Wink  It could be an unpredictable set of matches imo cos the players could still be slightly fatigued from last weekend's fixtures.

I especially expect the CL/EL teams to take it "easy" this week. Could be a lot of goals scored or almost none at all. Will be interesting, that's for sure Cheesy

Fantastic, bloody fantastic. Watching the match on CNBC so not the best commentary but we still got a lot of action on both ends. Derby Day, but it was going to need something a bit special to take away some spotlight from Arsenal's hammering of Spurs in London... who else but a supersub from Liverpool to snatch all 3 points at the end? A weird Alisson pass free kick to I think Trent... cross for VVD (!) to try a volley (I know you last scored like that for Netherlands but oh Dijk) which was heading out until poor Pickford palms it back into play... Should/neck score from Origi.

Luckiest win of all season by far and if the commentator was right, Liverpool extended their record for most Premier League goals scored in injury time.

I said before the game I miss heavy metal Kloppball but these types of wins are what seem to carry teams across the line.

@LFC you're still top of our leaderboard, amazing form.

Didn't watch this one, but heard all the cheering at the end from some guys who were, I was still wondering for a while who won it, nice to see it was Liverpool. Stats wise it seemed Everton were pressuring Liverpool, gave them 3 yellow cards first before collecting 2 and they had a goal cleared by Liverpool from the line. And almost equal attempts on goal. This is not the same Liverpool at all, Mignolet is a good shot stopper but credit to the brazilian keeper, he and Virgil are keeping the best defense in the league so far. Now if someone can please show Manchester City the bravery at their home turf!

Of course they miss Coutinho. But they are better able to break defences without him it seems.
They struggled to break down PSG's, and Evertons defence. Maybe, not so much Everton I just think the finishing wasn't good enough. If you didn't watch the game, and haven't seen the goals you need to see the bizarre goal pickford let in. I actually lost hope, but Origi never gave up. In fact if you look at Van djik's body language after he volleys he gave up too. It was a bizarre night.

It was a great game! It could have been 3 or even 4 nill. Well deserved win for Liverpool in the end, even though it was one of the craziest endings I've ever seen to a game, haha.
I'm not sure about the 3/4 to naught. Everton had some very close chances, and could of easily won the game. Liverpool attack looked good the first 15 minutes or so, and then Everton started to dominate the midfield, and the front 3 got starved of service. I can't help but think Liverpool are missing Coutinho a little bit.

Alison did well, and I think if it was mignolet in goals for an example Liverpool would of been in a lot of trouble, and could of found themselves down by 2 early on.

Yay!  Looks like it's gonna be another bad week for me.

Btw does anybody think Eddie Howe should be a candidate to replace Mou at United?  I think the Spurs would be perfect for him too if Poch leaves.

I will be really pissed off if we don’t beat Everton especially after that cuckold performance in Paris last night.

You mentioned in the other thread you were predicting 3-1 to Liverpool. That was going to be my prediction in Superbru - I'm just putting my picks in at the moment. Now given that you are in first, and I am 8.5 points behind you, I have to weight up whether I stick to my guns, or decide to go for a different score it and make make that game a differential between us. But you are in first, and Liverpool are your team, so logic suggests your predictions would be the most accurate.

Or maybe I'm just overthinking the whole thing. Grin

I’m just sitting down watching TV with a nice log fire on, Cardiff vs Wolves is on in a bit so I’m going to watch that. Not going out tonight so nothing else to do, I might as well follow the game in our pool.

I predicted Cardiff 1-2 Wolves.

Enjoy! I've only had the pleasure of going Anfield once before, and we had fantastic seats! Hopefully, Liverpool will go back to the entertaining performances of last season, but keep on getting results in the premier league like they have this season.

Thanks Welsh Smiley

Just done my predictions for this weekend, lots of big games again. Two derbies - the North London derby (Arsenal vs Spurs) & the Merseyside derby (LFC vs Everton).

I’m going to Liverpool’s next 3 home gsmes - (Everton, Napoli & Man Utd).

I will be really pissed off if we don’t beat Everton especially after that cuckold performance in Paris last night.
