Djokovic has solidified his status as one of the GOATS of Tennis by winning an Olympic gold against Carlos Alcaraz and it turned out to be one heck of a finale with both sets going to the Serbian in the tie-break.

I do feel sad for Carlos since I was supporting him, but he will get many more opportunities to win an Olympic gold in the future which is why he will probably bounce back pretty quickly.
The Serbian racket knows no rivals and I can say that he is the best ever for Djakovic. We watched a good final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz and of course the winner was Djokovic. There was a historical final match in the Paris Grans Slim final, one was the youngest player and the other was the oldest player, the experienced old Djokovic did not let the young player pass. Paris was a very productive experience for Alcaraz.

The greatest tennis player in history Novak Djokovic completed the only missing piece in his career. He became the oldest player to reach a final at the age of 37 and win the Olympic gold medal. This performance against the 21-year-old Alcaraz, who will perhaps dominate the new era, is really impressive. I'm very happy for Novak. As tennis fans we are lucky to be the generation that can watch him live.
Djokovic completed tennis - Olympic gold was only missing trophy. It was final to remember, even tough it was decided in 2 sets. Both of them winning their own serves and both sets ending with tie break. Happy for Djokovic, while for Alcaraz everything is still ahead

I've just see the 3 semifinals for the 100m men.
We have 4 runnes that can go under 9.80.
It will be probably the second fastest 100m in the history after the Usain Bolt era.

Don't miss it or you will regret.

In this era, we have witnessed lots of great sportsmen and women that have dominated the various sports that they are involved in, and we that are alive to witness their careers made are really fortunate because the story will be told about them long into the future, and to us, it will not just be a story, but a period and season that we experienced.

Congratulations to Novak Djokovic, it would have been a sad thing had he not won. To Alcaraz, the future remains bright for him.

Right, Djokovic has cemented his legacy with a big win against a young Carlos Alcaraz. He has complicated the golden slam. And this match is a good one, the oldest vs the youngest and we can say that experience is still the king here.

However, I would say that this could be Djokovic's last Olympics as he would be 40+ in the next four years. And with that, I think Alcaraz has a great chance in the next, not this time though, as this is Djokovic's time to shine.

Today, when I had some free time I tried to follow the Olympics. The men's 1500 meters swimming race was pretty good. Bobby Finke set a world record. Our 16-year-old representative Kuzey Tunçelli finished 5th in the race. We expect a medal from him in the next Olympics.
In the 4x100 meter medley, China won the gold medal. In the women's race, USA broke the world record and won the gold medal. It's incredible that new records are set every Olympics. People are evolving more and more every day.

The Philippines just won its second gold in gymnastics courtesy of Carlos Yulo. He did it first in artistic gymnastics and again in the men's vault.
Prior to Hidilyn Diaz winning gold in the 2020 Olympics, we had a 100-year drought. Now, the Philippines has the potential to add more gold as there are still three hopefuls: two in boxing and one in the high jump.
The Philippines is now leading the medal haul in the South East; the Philippines has really come a long way.

FYI, Men’s Vault is just a category on Artistic Gymnastics. I think you mean Floor Exercise since this is the category which he gets his first Gold medal.

There’s 3 Category on AG which is All around, Vault and Floor which Yulo manage to enter on the final round and won 2 of them which is insane achievement since each Category requires different focus in the body.

We still have few top contender for gold especially on boxing now that we have sure bronze.

Italy defeated Turkey 3-0 in the formal match in women's volleyball at the Olympic Games, in which both teams had previously been guaranteed a place in the quarter-finals.
The match may be a formality, but in the match where the Turkish National Team could not show any presence, they lost the first set 25-14, the second set 25-16 and the last set 25-21. Although they showed some resistance only in the last set, they lost the match 3-0. The Turkish team did not show any hope for the upper rounds, but maybe there was a lack of concentration. I will follow what they will do in the next round.
Turkey's loss to Italy wasn't a surprise. Italy has been really good at the Olympics and looks like a real threat. But let's break down what really went wrong for Turkey. Their pressure on Vargas was way too high. If your star player doesn't do their job, the whole team falls apart. Wake up, Turkey, and change up your game plan. They should not put all their eggs in one box. Don't forget that they did well against the Dominican Republic, so there is hope. Their game just needs to be more steady and smarter. Our loss serves as a wake-up call. Turkey needs to step up their game if they want to keep in the championship race

She still has chances to win 1 more right ?
There are still two events remaining for Simone Biles. One will be the balance beam and the other one will be floor exercise. Both will take place tomorrow.
Simone Biles should have a big chance to win two more medals. She was ranked first at floor exercise qualification and second at balance beam qualification.

Damn. I don't care who's winning this now, but we have a treat on our hands.
Exciting!!! Some events in this Olympics have been standard for what to expect in an Olympic competition. I enjoyed watching the table tennis finals for gold between China and Sweden.
China, represented by Fan Zhendong, ranked second in the world, played against Truls Möregårdh of Sweden, who is just 22 years of age and has less experience.
Truls Möregårdh started the first set very well, but Fan Zhendong became more comfortable, spotted Truls's weakness, and fully exploited it to win gold.
Truls Möregårdh was impressive, but Fan had more experience and quicker. Truls Möregårdh settles for Silver which is not so bad still.

Simone Biles is seriously something else. She keeps winning gold after gold at this Olympics despite her issues in the Tokyo Olympics and has solidified her status as one of the GOATS of artistic gymnastics.

On the other hand, we have Katie Ledecky who keeps dominating 800m freestyle and has solidified her status as the best US female Olympian so far. Titmus tried hard, but the gap between them was pretty evident. Legends!

She is something unique for sure. She has 3 golden medals so far and like you said above , she is truly one of the GOATS of artistic gymnastic and she is also a 9th time Olympic champion who really said a lot about how great she really is.

She still has chances to win 1 more right ? I don't remember to hear about gymnastic teams contest so if USA can get gold again , then she still have 4 and 10th in total which is once again super impressive in all aspects of her performances .  Shocked

And so another record has been completed, for all the Filipinos here, Carlos Yulo won the gold in gymnastics,

Quote
arlos Edriel Yulo produced a spectacular performance to win the men's floor exercise final at the Paris Games on Saturday, earning Philippines their first-ever Olympic medal in gymnastics.
Yulo's gold medal is also only the second-ever top prize won by the Philippines across both the Summer and Winter Games, and the first in the men's category. Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz struck gold in Tokyo three years ago.

https://www.reuters.com/sports/olympics/gymnastics-yulo-wins-historic-gold-philippines-with-floor-exercise-title-2024-08-03/
I am very happy to see this news when I woke up. Carlos Yulo giving our country's pride with the 2nd gold medal ever in the history of our participation in the Olympics. A male gymnasts as the 2nd winner of gold medal for our country while the first one is Hidilyn Diaz for the weighlifting. It seems that there's a shift and our country should give more focus on these kind of sports instead of focusing where our national team always fail to qualify to the Olympics, I'm sorry to say that.

In the midst of enjoying Djokovic's master class but only started from second set 10 minutes in (wish I'd seen the tie break). Felt Alcaraz was on the ascendancy after getting the third game from a rather lazy Djoker return, and then trying to trick Alcaraz into running down on the slide on last second minutes after. But then he goes and gives away some cheap points and then a miss for 3-3.

Damn. Don't care who's winning this now, but we have a treat on our hands.

Even without much hope, I'm watching the women's soccer championship, rooting for Brazil
With 1 win and 2 losses in the qualifying phase, I haven't even risked another bet on Brazil, I'm just watching
And to my surprise, the team is winning 1x0 against France  Cheesy

I'm having a hard time predicting the results of these Olympics hehehe
Maybe I'll end up with a loss

I was lucky enough to choose Brazil over France but what I chose was the Asian handicap with +0.75 odd for Brazil. I think if France wins this match with a difference of only 1 goal then I will only lose half. I'm actually quite pessimistic that Brazil can win that match, especially when France got a penalty in the 16th minute. Luckily Lorena managed to thwart the penalty, and I think Lorena played quite impressively in that match, maybe if she hadn't been there, Brazil wouldn't have gotten that win.

Korea showed a great performance in archery. All of their players played very well and we can say that they won all the medals.

The match they played with America just now was especially great. Brady Ellison made the best shots I have seen in recent years. His Korean opponent Kim Woo-jin was better than him in the last shot. Both played very well but the champion was Kim Woo-jin.

Mete Gazoz did not play well today, he was not on his day. The champion of the previous tournaments lost. Mete Gazoz lost to the champion player Smiley

Turkey has been playing very badly in recent tournaments. Italy may be very good but Turkey was in first place in the rankings. They lost their rankings with their recent defeats and they could not show any presence against Italy in this tournament. This made me very sad because I wanted to watch my country win a medal. It looks like we will not win a medal. Still, we should congratulate the players. Let's see how far we can go.

I think Italy deserved to win this match because they performed consistently throughout the tournament. If you look at how they have played so far, it looks like they have a pretty big chance of making it to the final. Meanwhile, Turkey that previously played quite well against the Dominican Republic but they seemed to lose their composure against Italy. There were so many mistakes that resulted in points for Italy, and what I see is that Turkey has quite a big dependence on Vargas, so when Vargas doesn't play impressively, that makes Turkey lose their power.

have you see the final for shot put done yesterday evening?
What a mess it was?
I never seen such a bad organization for an event.

They were throwing normally in the even then started to rain.
instead of stopping or clearing the platform, they left 100+ kg men spinning at high speed and some of them slept risking big injuries.

Was pathetic.
