England was able to give the target of only 167 runs. They should have scored more runs on such a pitch. However, at the beginning of the innings, New Zealand lost two valuable wickets and fell behind. New Zealand is now in a good position, thanks to the partnership of Mitchell and Conway. New Zealand scored 110 runs in 16 overs. They need 56 runs from 24 balls to win.

There was no bubble it's just simple they play bad in 2 early games and lost out and down now they are going to start with new things surely these are going to have some big impact on them and their strategy for future games. I personally respect Virat as player but as captain he has done very bad things in last few years it's good for him, he already leaves and now new captain can handle team in better way and Virat also can play without any pressure which help him for better performance.

This is not the right statement that they lost two early matches and hence they lost the way in the tournament. It was evident that they would have lost with Pakistan and New Zealand even if those matches were in between or in the last. They are only capable of playing well against small teams.

Many times Virat done serious mistakes in selections which cost India very badly today I was reading on one site writer was saying he was biased with few players and I have to agree with him in this case because his poor selection hurt Indian team very badly in many matches.

Neither Virat Kholi is responsible for this loss nor we should blame the Indian Management. The fact is that whole Indian team was a failure in this T20 World cup. It was a combine team effort and everyone contributed to his best for this loss.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl. As we have seen in the group stage of the World Cup, the team that bowled earlier got the most advantage, and the team that batted later won most of the matches. Will we see the same thing in today's match? Can the New Zealand team win? Although England looks stronger than the team. I think England will win.

I think the outcome of the match depends on the performance of the first 6 overs of the power play. If the England team does not lose any wicket in the first 6 overs and can collect a good run of the power play, then England has a good chance to win the match. Since they got the chance to bat first. With a target of less than 160, it will be very difficult to win this match. England's goal should be to score at least 180 or more than 200.

Here, The first semi-final T20 World Cup contest features England taking on New Zealand.

England is clearly the favorite to beat NZ. Historically, England have won more T20Is against New Zealand, who will you be backing tonight? England has traditionally done well against New Zealand in T20Is, but I pick New Zealand to win and they play in the final. All the way, New Zealand!

The issue i see is that the players were dead tired with too much cricket. More cricket will not help them either, they need to have enough rest and not play series one after other and expect to play at their optimal performance. Pakistan is the best team in the tournament and i was checking their preparation released by them and they have a lot of former players like Vernon Philander, Saqlain Mushtaq helping them prepare which is really great.
I don't agree with this. If the players were tired, then the management could have gone for player rotation. On the other hand, the same set of players were retained by Kohli for match after match, despite poor performances from some of the members like Hardik Pandya. When MSD was the captain, he also had some preferences. But none of his preferred set of players were as useless as the ones picked by Kohli. Kohli and Damaadji took nepotism to another level, by denying chances to hardworking youngsters.
India management has a lot of talented players. However, I do not understand why they have a player like Hardik Pandya in the squad. Pandya is not in form. And he's been out of form for a long time. Management should have hired another player to replace Pandya. Unnecessary players can have a detrimental effect on the rest of the team.
I totally agree with your assessment and one more player who disappointed in the Pakistan match was the Indian wicket keeper, instead of batting properly he threw his wicket away when his team needed him the most, hence I feel that they should go for a better wicket keeper. Also with their former player aka Dravid taking over, I expect some major changes to happen in series to come.
I always felt this worldcup that the Indian was there to enjoy their holidays. They had put so much less effort in playing the first two matches that they got kicked out easily. Such tournaments are organised to evaluate the performance of a national team after 2011 the Indian team has lost almost all ICC tournaments under Kohli. Good that he left now BCCI needs to find out someone like Dhoni.

Kohli may not be and will not be a good captain like Dhoni. Of course, Kohli is also responsible for India's departure on a big stage like the World Cup. India should give KL Rahul or Rohit Sharma the captaincy. Unnecessary and formless players should be kept out of the team at the moment. There is one more World Cup next year. India will have to prepare for the next World Cup from now on.

The BCCI doesn't allow Indian players to participate in franchise cricket leagues around the world, which limits their exposure in a big way.
The Indian team was playing in a bubble with their performances only in the IPL or series within the Big 3. This bubble was badly exposed when they had to play against the top talented teams like Pakistan. BCCI should need to revise their policy otherwise they will have to face similar situation whenever they will play big tournaments.
They are afraid of losing with their neighboring country and hence they prefer not to play at all.

This is entirely politics and i do not agree with the political agenda, sports should be beyond politics and everyone needs to play.

I would have too appreciated the performance of Indian team if they have won a match, only a single match, against a good team in this tournament. They have won the matches against teams like Scotland, Afghanistan and Namibia who have no ranking in the international cricket. Even a club team could have won against those teams.

I guess the window is also very small in this group. There three test playing teams must have to defeat each other to qualify for the next round. Afghanistan showed very positive performance through out the tournament. Pakistan was fortunate enough to beat both NZ and India while NZ was able to beat India only. While other 3 teams Afghan, Namibia and Scotland lost all matches against them.

Very well played team India. They have shown incredible improvement at the time of their exit. If they had played better in their opening matches then the situation would have been completely different. I understand there were certain factors involved like the toss but the biggest factor that led to this situation was the overconfidence of the Indian team.

The story could not end here. This should be a good outing, but unfortunately India struggles at the start. Having left this world cup early, Indian fans would have had to choose either supporting rest of teams or not. It's hard luck for Indian team that they weren't in pure action against good team, i mean other group opponents - Pakistan and New Zealand. I think they could have done better.

What is your prediction about the first semi-final between England and New Zealand? The performance that England have shown in the last few matches, they are undoubtedly the favorite team. But the New Zealand team has won 4 out of 5 matches. Despite their poor performance against Pakistan, their performance against India was just awesome. Both teams are strong in the semi-finals. The team that performs well on the field will win. Which team are you interested in betting on?

It's hard to guess about such a match. However, almost all the players of the England team are in form. Batsmen are able to bat well. The bowlers' performance is stable enough. But my prediction is that if England get a chance to bowl first, they will win the match anyway. Basically, the team that wins the toss I will bet on their win.

The BCCI doesn't allow Indian players to participate in franchise cricket leagues around the world, which limits their exposure in a big way. On the other hand, Pakistani cricketers play in various leagues all around the world, and as a result they are familiar with the ground conditions and weather. But at least a part of the problem lies with the Indian selection policy. Kohli and the coach went for unfit players like Hardik instead of more deserving players, because they want to include their proxies in the playing XI.

The Indian players were already familiar with the pitch of the World Cup. They have performed on such pitches many times before. So even if BCCI does not give players a chance to play in other franchises, it should not be a problem. However, their performance in the first two matches was disappointing. The opponent in the last 3 matches was very weak. India had to win one of the first two matches to reach the semi-finals. But they failed. We returned to the form of batsmen through the match in Afghanistan. But by then they had lost the qualification to qualify for the semi-finals.

Agreed, over confidence is the big mistake that Indian team had. During the days before the match of India majority of the media took this into discussion. The headlines were something as will Pakistan withstand the performance of India. This hype given by media too is a reason for having over confidence.

West Indies in the past have faced similar situation in 1983 world cup finals against India. The score was just 183 which was is reachable, but the over confidence made them loss the match scoring 140. By that time West Indies is the top team.
