They are just part time cricketers. They play when they are granted leave from their full-time job. So you can't really expect them to perform at the level of professionals. On top of that, for the last two decades the ICC has drastically reduced funding for the associate nations. And these guys get an opportunity to play against a test playing nation once every 4 years or so (if they manage to qualify for the ICC tournaments). The ODI world cup is now limited to just 10 countries, so T20 World cup is the only avenue that is left for them.

Actually the only reason where I feel Afghans have a better hand is the spin department, they have atleast 3 quality spinners and at the same time New Zealand team doesn't really have batters who are great players of spin, except Kane himself, other players don't play spin too well especially against bowlers that can spin both ways. But last time on this pitch of Abu Dhabi the bowlers weren't able to spin the bowl that well, I am sure it won't be a one sided affair but honestly NZ have a very good chance considering their current form.

In several tournaments India has reached such situation, and no tournament have given hands to India depending on other team for its entry to the next round. This time too, there is expectation that New Zealand getting defeated by Afghanistan. In reality New Zealand is in good form and Afghanistan can't make a win as some Indians except.

Last two matches were really impressive from India, they played with courage. Same as this if they've faced the first two matches, atleast both matches could've turned to be a fighting match than a one sided match.

Are you sure Namibia and Afghanistan are underdog? You must have missed match b/w Pakistan/ Afghanistan and also todays Namibia bowling. Thanks to Phillips/Neesham partnership NZ manage to score 162 against Namibia otherwise NZ would have scored 130 or 140.

Making few individual performances or wining one match does not change their tag from underdog to a consistent good team. Both of these teams showed good performances but they still need experience to finish the match with a win. Tournaments like these help them excel in future.

Despite being eliminated, Sri Lanka's performance throughout the T20 tournament was impressive. Hasaranga is poised to become a major cricketing star. His performance in the shorter format is what made him the number one. Nice to see some new talent in the Sri Lankan team. Hopefully Sri Lanka will produce more great players in the future. We may see Sri Lanka winning global tournaments again in the next decade if these players live up to their potential.

I agree with you too. If India bat first, they will win by more than 100 runs. They have this ability. My guess is that in today's match, India will get a chance to bat first, even if Scotland wins the toss, they will decide to bowl first. India will bat first, and if their luck is good, India will give a huge target of more than 210 runs and Scotland will lose all their wickets before 100 runs. Lets see what will happen.
