Because tdxminer doesn't show info about temperature and fan speed, you can use utility of rocm drivers. Smiley

If you  open new terminal beside your tdxminer and type:

Code:
/opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi

you will get info about temperature, average power consumption, fan speed, and other info about your GPUs.
Problem with this command is that it only shows current state of your GPUs. If you want to monitor GPUs info for a certain interval, you can use watch command. Smiley Type in your terminal:

Code:
watch -n 0,5 /opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi

and you will get your GPUs info every 0.5 second. Smiley

I hope that this post will be helpful for some of you. Cheers. Smiley

Fist of all i should thank the dev for making the vega very profitable again

Here is what i did

6x Vega 56 (MSI Airboost OC)
Asus B250 Mining Expert Mobo with PCI-E 1x risers and Gen3 in BIOS

1. Freshly Installed Ubuntu 16.04 Desktop (http://releases.ubuntu.com/16.04/)
2. Followed the ROCM AMD Driver Installation (https://github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/ROCm)

Created a Fan Control Script (amd-fan.sh)

#!/bin/bash
/opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi -d 0 --setfan 150
/opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi -d 1 --setfan 150
/opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi -d 2 --setfan 150
/opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi -d 3 --setfan 150
/opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi -d 4 --setfan 150
/opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi -d 5 --setfan 150
exit 0

No other Overclocking as it does not improve my hashrate but the Power consumption but with the stock settings and fan limit each card is consuming 150W so total 900W

https://imgur.com/xzGT0Sk

At present getting 35Mhs and miner is very stable, actually impressed with it

https://imgur.com/B6XQGK1

Will play with OCs soon and update

I must say Vega is pretty stable on linux, i have been mining Haven, Loki on windows and i know how hard to keep watching the miner crash, thanks a lot Dev @todxx

You don't need to target every GPU in your script with -d parameter. If you type

/opt/rocm/bin/rocm-smi --setfan 150

it will set fan value on all GPUs. Smiley

I tested bsod and got arount -30% reward. So i decided to change to another one, i tested angry pool, for some hours the reward was good, but in 24h reward was -40% that calc says.
Finally i tested https://www.pickaxe.pro and got arount +50% in the first 24h(maybe lucky), but average in 1 week is more than the calc says for me.
Today was a bad day because the pool hash rate wasn't good.

Ive been having the same problem. I looked into it a bit further and realized the issue isnt with the calc or lyra. The major pools for these coins dont use pplns or pps payout schemes. They use proportional payout. The culprit: pool hoppers. Just look at the angry pool and bsod stats for lyra. Huge hashrate spikes and then returns to base line. Each time was during low difficulty blocks. And since it take 100 fucking confirmations, they have plenty of time to hop in and bail with profits. Thats why pickaxe pool gave you an accurate payout. The hashrate remained consistent.

I have same problem with you.
Trying most of everything. Ubuntu 16.04.4 , Xubuntu , try many of low latency Kernel.
I had no problem with rx570,580

btw I am using Sapphire Nitro Vega 56 with Z270 TUF2 mobo.

If anyone would help with disk image / iso. That would be a lots of appreciate.

Has anyone been struggling with rig stability, the majority of my rigs have the same problem, 1 or 2 of the cards drop out after a few hours, generally after 1 hour.
These same rigs have absolutly no problem with other algo/miners .

It seems OC settings have no affect on this problem.

Any ideas?

I had the same problem. After alot of trial and error i found out the issue is either the riser or the temp.

You can unplug the usb connector one by one to isolate which card(s) they are. Miner wont crash (gotta love linux)

For one. Make sure youre not fucking with sata connectors whatsoever. This includes direct sata provided on ver009s. Direct molex or direct 6 pin only. Also only 2 molex connections per branch.

Because there is no temp monitering alot of times you got false positives on the thermal throttling. So its important your risers are power correctly to avoid such. Second keep them cool. Install lm-sensors and you can see if its a temp issue. Goodluck

Hello please can someone advice me how to implement this miner into ethos(if possible) or ubuntu? Si ple step by step guide will be very appreciated.
Also what oc to choose for rx570/80? Just leave it at max and underclock memory? Which dpm state? I heard it can be OCd at maximum it still wont consume much electricity.

Please share some OC settings for RX 580 8gb.
Do I need to bios mod it or what?
Using HiveOS and getting 1.6 mh/s only.
Any way to OC via the terminal?
Thanks!

A little update:
3.1 mhs now on default voltage, 1360 core and 1100 memory...
I think I can push more, also undervolt.
Any suggestion?
Thanks!

reduce memory to p0 stage
idle 300mhz

Does voltage settings really work for tdxminer on Hive?

Miner reports 340-350Watt for 1 RX 470 and 3 RX 570 but wallmeter says 550-560Watts in total.

System is z270 mobo and G4400 cpu and 4gb ram.

Does hive only report GPU core watt consumption without paying attention other components onboard such as video ram and etc?

I set 1299 Mhz for all gpu and 930-950mV with DPM 5 and make 12.6Mh/s from the rig.

Should I set DPM more lower such as 2-3?

Thanks.
Always calc as this
(GPUs + MB/CPU/RAM/SSD/Risers etc. ~100w)+20%(at least)
example in your case:
(350W+100W)+20%PSU and other losses = 540W from the wall.

Method works for sure. Thanks.
