Ah yes, great win by Bautista Agut in two sets which was consistent to most
if his wins bar one in Doha this year. I will be interesting to see if
he can carry this super form into the next tournament.

In Delray Beach Norrie got past Paul to get into the Final against Opelka, looks
like seeded players 1 and 2 face off against other. It also looks like Opelka is carrying
some good form into this final after winning Dallas last week but Norrie 1.78 is
still favoirite (Opelka 2.05) I think I'll stick with Norrie.

I agree with you both, Bautista Agut this week has performed really well and
seems to have been able to win his matches easy enough bar yesterdays match which
was a close one. I'll be backing him today again.

And Bautista Agut winning the Doha Open, another masterful performance by Agut as he wins in two sets. I thought that this will go Over, but Baustista Agut continue is good showing in this tournament. Although he was broken early in the first and second set, he was able to come back and break even. Probably might be good to look at him in the next tournament that he enters as he might pull some big upset.

Same here, I thought that this could be at least a 3 setter, but with the way that Bautista Agut is demolishing his opponents, no surprised of the results. He only dropped 1 set the whole tournament if I'm not mistaken.

So this is a big win for him, and could bolster his confidence on the next tournament, so we will see how he will fair in fast specially in this kind of surface.

I'm happy with yesterdays bet on Norrie to beat Korda at Delray Beach, he is through
to the quarter finals against Paul, dont know if I'm going to bet on that one

I also had Dimitrov to beat Millman.....which didnt happen.

^^ It was not a very easy game for Bautista Agut as he has to come from behind to win against Karen and move into the finals. He lost the first set and then comes back,  2-6, 6-3, 7-5 score.

So he will be facing  Basilashvili in the finals. Basilashvili beats Rinderknech in the other semis in straight sets. I thought that Rinderknech will have a good chance to win this game.

Agut is obviously the favorite on the finals, after what he has done on his last 3 match. Specially on how he beat Khachanov on the semis, it was a good match and hopefully the finals will be the same.

And with the finals set, I will go with Baustista Agut at Over 21.5.

It could go 3 sets, hard to predict, maybe Agut could also demolished Basilashvili in 2 hard sets and still cover that spread.

Luckily I didnt put a wager on either Murray or van de Zandschulp. Bautista Agut
really blew Andy away in that match, I thought it would be a close one, but not.

Same here, I thought that Andy might have a good chance to at least score an upset win.

But to everyone's surprised, it seems that the didn't have any during that game because it's not even close. And as what we have discussing before, Andy is really way off and no longer can compete with this young generation of players.
The difference between Andy Murray and Bautista agut is just a year's difference. The match is completely one sided. 6-0, 6-1 which is a big blow. This was his worst defeat since 2014. Roger Federer recorded similar victory of 6-0, 6-1 against Andy Murray during the ATP finals held in London, 2014.

Speaking of Bautista-Agut, another huge win against Fokina 6-1, 6-1, it looks like he is destroying everyone big time.

He will be facing Khachanov next, who beat Cilic in three sets, losing the first one and then winning the last 2 sets, so it's a comeback win for him.

And Bautista Agut is favourite 1.45 today against Khachanov 2.75
in todays semi final. Both are nice odds but which way to go? I'm thinking B.A
he seems to be in top form at this tournament and yea those lase two matches
have been easy wins so he should be super fresh coming into this semi.

The other semi is just as tricky: Rinderknech 1.79 v 2.03 Basilashvili

Anyone watching what is happening over at Delray Beach?
Cameron Norrie is facing Korda in one of the Quarter Finals today, Korda 1.80 is
favourite and I havent heard much of him so far in 2022. I go with a wager on
Norrie @ 2.03

The quarter finals are indeed hard to call, to me all 8 players are of equal ability.
I will go with Shapovalov against Rinderknech anyway, not sure about the others though:

Basilashvili v Fucsovics ::: really cant make my mind up, Fucsovics is favourite at 1.6

Davidovich Fokina v Bautista Agut ::: i'm half thinking of going with Bautista Agut

Khachanov v Čilić ::: its hard to bet against Khachanov here but Cilic is unpredictable

Yes I know, but he thinks he is not an A/V.

A few nice matches in play ATM,
Kwon v Fucsovics - I have Marton to win this one

Rinderknech v Bublik - Bublik in trouble I think in the 3rd set.

van de Zandschulp v Cilic - 3-6 in the first set and I'm half thinking of going with
van de Zandschulp

Some very interesting matches on later, Murray v Bautista Agut, Half thinking
on backing Andy @ 2.13 ??

Bautista Agut didn't give Andy Murray a chance, shutting him down in 2 sets, 6-0, 6-1, not sure if you have put bet on Andy here.

van de Zandschulp vs Cilic - Cilic won the first and so is the second, 7-5. No chance for van de Zandschulp to recover in this match as Cilic just needed one break.

It's going on quarter finals now, and obviously, getting harder to pick.

I've read that report too. I actually think it's outrageous how Djokovic is presenting himself. He shouldn't and won't take that vaccine, what arrogance. Top athletes should be an example for the sport and for the youth, but Djokovic does exactly the opposite. They really shouldn't let that guy go anywhere. He thinks he is above the law with his arrogant behavior. He is willing to forgo the big tournaments. The rest of the field will be happy with that  Grin

Yeah, saw the same report, and he is even criticize for not taking the vaccine, but that's his personality though, it's his lost if he is going to those Grand Slams and not have a chance of winning them because of his beliefs about the vaccine. Sooner or later, history will tell us how Djokovic's stand on this will tell, but for sure tennis fans might not going to favor him with this kind of outrageous decisions.

@aoluain - if he is not taking the vaccine then obviously, he is anti-vaccine, simply as that, no middle ground, IMHO.

I heard on the radio a little earlier Djokovic is going to sit out the French Open and Wimbledon instead of getting a jab.

Novak Djokovic willing to miss Wimbledon to avoid jab

https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-60381628 (5 min video)

Quote
Novak Djokovic has revealed in an exclusive BBC interview that he is willing to miss Wimbledon to avoid having the Covid jab.

The Serbian tennis star told Amol Rajan that missing tournaments over his vaccine stance was a price he was "willing to pay".
Such mentality will create some negative impact among the common people about vaccine. There are various discussion regarding the vaccine to cause side effects, but people are getting used to it. In my country we're supposed to take two dose of vaccine at a time interval of 30 days and now once again a booster dose is being provided. There is no compulsion on vaccination, but people will surely have some negative thoughts when popular people take strong stance on the same.

I think its crazy but great for Nadal and Medvedev in particular. I dont want
to have a big discussion about vaccines on a Tennis thread but the vast majority
of us take the vaccine to protect ourselves and others  and the risk of being really ill
because of not having the vaccine far outweighs the risk of getting a possible side effect.

Djokovic says he isnt anti-vaccine but wants the choice to have it or not, well - he has
that but it comes with compromises and/or consequences.

A new week and new competitions.

Andy Murray plays against Daniel Taro today and looks to be favourite. I have my bet
on for him. Andy is always good for at least a first round bet in any competition but
what do you all think of Daniel Taro?

A few other popular names on today like Bublik v Kovalik and Harris v Fucsovics,
Marton is favourite for this match but I dont know whether to back him.

At 1.36 odds, obviously Andy will be the favorite to win against Taro.

But I guess the better odds is like the handicap -3.5 for Andy here.

And yes, there are a lot of name players in this tournament who are going to play later. Currently Bublik is 1 set ahead against Kovalik but they are tied on the second 3-3 apiece, which Kovalik leading 40-30 right now.
