Just looking at the odds for Tsitsipas vs Murray, 1.08 ML and then handicap -7.5 at 2.01.

I think Murray can still give a good fight, although Tsitsipas might win in 2 sets, but that handicap? not sure if he can cover it. So I will skip this match, there are a lot of games that it worth to bet to give us a good returns.
Aren't we talking about US open here? If so, then it is 3 sets and those odds and handicap look spot on for me. I am not sure Murray has the stamina to play best of 5 set matches and he is still a big name and nobody will enter in match with him with attitude like "easy win I can relax".

Did not check US Open draws yet, I like to leave it until last minutes before matches start when counter handicaps offer biggest value. Usually odds on favorites drop a lot and consequently give much more value for my bets on underdogs to cover the spread.

^ I guess every young generation of tennis players have big respect to the big 3 or big 4 that's why most of the time they can't beat them because of that mentality, (I'm not saying it's bad). But Murray's game has deteriorated so much after coming back from the injury that we all know that it's just a matter of time before he retires for good. Of course, it's still not an easy game for Tsitsipas and he shouldn't underestimate Murray in their match.

I dont like hearing it the Big 4 ,because Murray isnt even close with all of the achivements to the Big 3. Yes he won some big titles while they were dominating but he didnt keep winning titles every year like them. Now Murray just plays big tournament with wild cards and always get knockout in the first or second round.

True, but there were times that only this 4 players are winning the grand slam events for years. It's just unfortunate that the youngest one of them all, Andy was injured early on and never recovered from that. And then the on/off, joining a tournament and then when we think that he has found his rhythm, he will suddenly lost in the first round. So it's hard for him to beat one of the top seed in the US Open which is Tsitsipas.

^^ Busta if I'm not mistaken is the top seed in this tournament so that speaks as to who entered or not.

Congrats on your win, I haven't put a bet on it, but Cilic has lost already and Bublik and Delbonis, so #6 and #5 and #10 is out of the tournament already.

But still a good tournament to bet with, there's money to be made as there are upsets here and there.

I lost my bet on Ymer, I thought he can overcome Ivasha, but Ivasha form is perfect in this match winning 6-0, 6-2, damn that was total domination.

First round of US Open is already on its way, there's some familiar name of it so good time to bet again.
The first match that caught my attention : A. Murray vs S. Tsitsipas, I'm not sure Tsitsipas will have a tough fight from Murray, Murray is no longer as good as before his injury, maybe he can take a set but the winner is still Tsitsipas. And more top 10 players play on Tuesdays
Yes, very intriguing but the odds favors Tsitsipas, might be better to bet the handicap as the ML is not that attractive.

Ah thats very unlucky for Murray, he hasnt really had much game time coming into this GS.
Just when you want to get a winnable draw and try to get some momentum into the following
rounds you are drawn against the 3rd seed Tsitsipas. All he can hope for is a retirement by Tsitsipas.

Tsitsipas of course is the favourite and also would favour him to go far.

Tsitsipas respects Murray very much and doesn’t think it will be an easy match for him.
In his media interview, Stefanos Tsitsipas stated the following:

"He's someone that has been putting a lot of work in to get back and has been playing very good tennis to be standing where he's at right now.
I'm going to go for it, try my chances against him. He's someone that won't give up. I'll have to bring some good tennis from my side."

In fact, it is very nice to see young tennis players show such respect for old tennis players, although it is obvious who is the favorite in this match.
I am sorry that one great tennis career was interrupted due to injuries.

What's a bit weird about Serena is the volatility in her performance. When she plays a game and wins it, she usually destroyed her opponent and everyone thinks ok, she is going to win this tournament easily. And then the complete crash in performance follows and she just gets destroyed the next game. She just can't keep up her top level over a whole tournament anymore. I remember how confident she was a couple of years ago, nobody would have even spent a second thinking she could lose a set let alone a game.
Yeah, it's probably due to age as well that's why his performance swings a lot in the last couple of years. So I agree with your observance on her game, one night you will see her destroyed the opponent and then the next game, she will have a lack luster performance.

Yet another big name has pulled out of the US Open, now at the women side. Serena Williams is still injured and has withdrawn for the US Open.
Personally, I think she should consider to retire from tennis ...

https://www.nytimes.com/2021/08/25/sports/tennis/serena-williams-withdraws-us-open.html

I think ever since Serena has welcome a daughter, his game has started to deteriorate. What I mean is that probably having a child is too much of a task for every parent. And of course that body has change and age already. So I do agree that she should consider retiring together with Federer.

@aoluain  - easy game for Busta-Carreno as he won 6-2,6-3. And then Gasquet beating 3rd seed Evans, not sure what is the beginning line for this match, but the score is 23. So if the line started at 22.5 then the Over is a win.

Outright is still Djokovic 1.68, followed by Medvedev 5.00, Zverev 6.50 and then Tsitsipas 9.50.

So it's going to be exciting, Djokovic will be playing on Tuesday if I'm not mistaken. So then we will see him form if he has somewhat back from the debacle he face in the Olympics.

...and there goes my two bets which I too thought would go further CB and Tiafoe.
I guess with the absence of the top 10 ranked players these tournaments become
a bit more open. I have heard about these semi finalists before but havent seen much
of their play and so brings an end to my betting in this tournament.

atta tion now goes to the U.S Open
Right, only Carlos Alcaraz Garfia is left as seeded player but only rank 15th in this tournament. The rest that will be playing in the semifinals are all unknown or at least not seeded.

So probably the absence really give advantage to these young players to show what they are capable of, so probably I will not bet on the semifinals match, would rather have my bankroll for the US Open next month.

^^ It seems that you are in winning streak mate, good to hear that.

So it will be Carreno-Busta vs Ivasha, I think Carreno-Busta will win in this match in two sets after this great showing in his last game, -3.5 @1.98 is a very attractive.

Gasquet vs Ruusuvuori, relatively unknown Ruusuvuori surprise entry of the tournament, reaching as far as the QF. I think with Gasquet experience, he will overcome Ruusuvuori in 3 sets here, or over 22.5.

Just watching the Carreno Busta v Ivashka match and Ivashka has taken the first
set tie break. Looking at the stats for that first set it looks like Ivashka's service game
is better. I hope Pablo can do the job here and take the next 2 sets.

I have repeated my bet from yesterday, Carreno Busta and Tiafoe, who beat Monteiro.

I must admit, I'm totally wrong with my predictions regarding Carreno-Busta vs Ivasha. Ivasha really played perfect game to beat Pablo in his game.

Same with the Gasquet vs Ruusuvuori, it was under and Ruusuvuori just over powered specially in the second set.

So a lot of surprises, nevertheless it will be these two that will face in the SF, Ivashka vs Ruusuvuori.

@aoluain it’s always a risk when the top 10 player’s are missing, because the rest are completely unpredictable and that’s make wagering on them more difficult. Also Serena and Venus Williams is out of the US Open, and that’s the first time in 17 year’s that they’re missing the tournament, wonder how many more will drop out.

Ymer vs Tiafoe, the score is tied 1-1, third set now, Ymer up 4-2, I think we will have another upset as those unseeded are going into the sems-finals.
This is what finally made it to the semifinals:
I. Ivashka vs E. Ruusuvuori
C. Alcaraz Garfia vs. M. Ymer
Yeah a lot of upsets, I thought CB would easily go to the final and win this tournament but didn't.
The names that entered the semifinals were dominated by youth players, even these C. Alcaraz Garfia were young players only 18 years old, Ivashka is the oldest, 27 yo

And just like that, Carreno-Busta just lost his quarter-finals match against Ivashka, so this is the major upset of the tournament. And then Ruusuvuori defeated Gasquet as well.

Surprising enough but Carreno Busta has also lost the second set with 6-3. Ivashka doesn't really ring a bell with me but 2 rounds ago he also defeated Cilic so he seems to be in fine form.
