Let's see how far Roger will go, he has a good chance against Hurkacz next, I will be rooting for him.

What intrigues me is the Shapolavov against Kachanov. Karen is a huge underdog here, but I will definitely go with him in a parlay with Djokovic and Berrettini. Although the Berrettini vs Auger-Aliassime might go either way, I think Matteo might pull through in a 5 set match.

Good call on the Shapovalov vs Kachanov, it's already on it's 5th set and it's very close match.

Shapovalov though is leading though 5-4 and serving for the match. it will be hard pressed for Kachanov to comeback as Shapovalov might close the match already, leading 40-15.

Yeah, but I lost my bet because I went on the underdog Kachanov, he really did give Shapovalov a lot of problems and I thought that he can pull this off.

Not sure what happen to Federer though, bagel in the final set, the last time I checked the score before I slept, he was up in the second set and I say that he has a good chance to win. Unfortunately, as others have said, he played badly and there was no injury whatsoever.

I can hardly believe it, but Federer was now clearly defeated in 3 sets (The last set is very suspect, injury?) But my personal opinion, he can now end his fantastic career. No one would have believed him to be capable of the performances in Paris and Wimbledon at this age. So probably also the 3rd GrandSlam tournament 2021 Djokovic will win.
Yes i think its time for federer to retire he is not able to win grand slams anymore today he performed poorly especially in last set i think you are right he might had an injury but good performance from hurkasz too he comeback in the last game against medvedev and now a win 3 0 against federer but it seems that djokovic is really strong in this tournament and seems the title will be his .

I watched whole 3rd set and I don't think there was injury involved. Hurkacz played very well after wining that 2nd set, he was full of confidence and he hit some very good shots. Federer was just the opposite, he played mediocre and gave away few cheap points but that is it.

I would feel bad if this was his last match. Not nice to go away with 6:0, better to win some small ATP 250 in Basel or something like that and then call it quits.

You should be careful about Djokovic, people said exactly the same thing about Nadal few weeks ago for the French Open : Nadal can't lose, betting on him is a risk free bet. I replied to people to stay cautious about this heavy favorite, in sport things are never done before being made. And odds for big star favorite players are almost always bad. Finally Nadal lost at Roland Garros...

it is never risk-free to bet, but Djokovic is a value bet at the moment, he is practically in the final, Shapovalov could make him sweat a little, but I do not see how any of these players (or any at all) could win over him at the moment at Wimbledon
if Djokovic has a bad day, and Shapovalov has really great day, he could have some chances, but I highly doubt that, and Djokovic will probably lift the trophy on Sunday (although, I am from Serbia, so could be biased)

Hurkacz is a much easier draw, Federer will probably pass to the semis now. He'll most likely face Berrettini who I really like and who will cause him a lot more problems. Berrettini only lost 1 set so far (1st round against Pella) and will be happy that he's playing Aliassime instead of Zverev.

Đoković has an open road until the final, neither Fucsovics nor Shapovalov can knock him out. He will be a big favorite in the final as well, against whoever comes.

@Saint-loup I missed seeing this promo because probably it would be in my mail, but when it comes to French Open you can always wager on Nadal for assured returns.
You should be cautious about winning streaks Juggy777, they are rarely everlasting  Wink Nadal had already lost at the French open in 2009 and in 2015 . And he withdrew during the tournament at the third round in 2016. Hence I don't think there is usually much value in odds concerning him.

Federers draw is much harder then Djokovic’es a lot of hard opponents if medvedev didnt lose it would be really hard for federer even if he passed him.
He will probobly pass Hurkacz but against Berretini i dont know how Federer can win

Ok Medvedev and I really don't the other guy Federer will now play against. As for my other question when Federer can meet Djokovic, they would only face in the finals. In my honest opinion, I would be so happy to see the two playing against each other in the finals. The last final they played in Wimbledon was unbelievably epic. Almost 5 hours with that devastating tie break in the 5th for Roger who failed to use one of his two match balls. Wink

Do not know much about him either but if he took Medvedev to full stretch he should at least be able to take 1 set away from Federer, who must be quite tired by now right?

This would be a dream final for sure. Either to spell the real end for Roger, or to delay the rise of Novak.

I hope for this to happen:)

That Federer will not play against Medvedev but against Hurkacz is a big surprise for me, maybe Federer has more chances against Hurkacz than against Medvedev. An advantage is certainly that he has one day more regeneration. Should Federer win, his next opponent in the semifinals would be Berrettini? Probably.

I would love to see them play in the final as well. We can't get a match better than that. Even though based on what I have seen from Federer on grass this season it will be nowhere near as close as their last final. Federer was making way too many unforced errors but maybe he tightened his game in last 2 matches. Did not see them and there is still time to improve even more. With each win his confidence will raise and maybe, just maybe he manages to take one more GS.

But he wasn't playing that well last time as well for the most part of the tournament. The final out of a sudden developed into an incredibly awesome game that nobody expected that way. Keep in mind that was summer 2019. It is not like that five hours game was ten years ago. So why shouldn't it happen again? Think how enormously Federer will be pushed by the Wimbledon audience as they love him more than anyone else. If he reaches the final, he isn't without any chance. Maybe a 30:70 underdog.

Federer won smoothly against Sonego, which was kind of expected. Still, good for him that he did not waste a lot of energy - the whole match lasted a bit over 2 hours. He needed to be fresh to have a chance against Medvedev, which he accomplished.

Yep, straight set win for Federer still impressive win although it is to be expected. I think he will face the winner of Medvedev vs Hurkacz.

Medvedev is currently struggling against Hurkacz, they are tied at 1-1 in the 5th set. Medvedev losing this would be a huge surprise.

Hurkacz leading 4-2, Medvedev serving. Medvedev is trying to survived in the 5th to got the win. He still has chance though, so let's see how it goes for him.

Medvedev even lost a break in the final set against Hurkacz currently even struggling to get a point on his serve. I think this might be it for Medvedev if he dosent recover somehow and breaks him back

The good thing about Federer advancing to the quarter finals is that he now gains a good bit of confidence. Not only did he get there, but he made it there in 3 - 0 game. I think now in the quarter finals he has a very good chance to also beat Medvedev (if he makes it to the quarters) or the other guy as well. When would he face Novak Djokovic? Semifinals or final?

Federer will probably face Medvedev in the quarterfinals, I assume that Medvedev will win his supplementary match today. Due to the longer recovery time, Federer will certainly have a small advantage, which he needs given his age and lack of match practice.

Is it true what I read, if Medvedev wins Wimbledon he would be #1 in the ATP list, will that work out?

I think the following scenario will make Medvedev the #1

(a) Medvedev reaching the finals
(b) Medvedev winning the Wimbledon
(c) Djokovic not reaching the finals
(d) Djokovic not winning the Wimbledon

So there is the scenario that he has total control with, like winning the Wimbledon. So I guess the best thing to do right now is just focus on winning the Wimbledon this year.
