Indian bowlers did their job and that is why they were able to restrict the English team. Bhumrah, Shami, Thakur and Shiraz all bowled very well. Now the Indian batsmen need to stay on the wicket and score. It's although a 5 test match series therefore plenty of game is left.
No doubt India bowlers did their job and now it is how their batsman will perform and looking at the way in which the pitch was behaving you need to bat for a longer time to get settled and none of the England batsman was able to do that and for India apart from the opening pair they lost wickets and if the match was not interrupted by rain i expect England bowlers could pick more wickets...

England lower order just collapsed. When Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root were at the crease, they were at 138/3. They lost the remaining 7 wickets for just 45 runs. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami were exceptional and this is why I always prefer to include the best bowlers in the playing XI irrespective of their batting skills. Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur are capable of adding 10-20 runs while batting, but they were not in good form yesterday (together conceded 89 runs, and picked up just 3 wickets).
The same could happen with India, Virat Kohli getting out for a golden duck will be the highlight of the series, he is consistent but when he gets out he will get out without scoring any runs and i would like to see his stats on how many matches he got out for a duck.
