Rishab Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are now at the crease. Pant is collected 37 runs. If England want to stop India before 400, they have to get Pant and Jadeja out very quickly. If Indian players collect more than 400 then England will lose this match. India's bowling is good enough. England's batsmen had a very poor performance in the previous match.

LOL.. once Pant got out, it was all over for India. The Indian tail once again fails to contribute with the bat. And this is where I thought that Ashwin might have come in handy. It was not a very bright idea to go in to the test match with 4 genuine tailenders - Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj. Three out of these four scored zero runs, and the remaining player scored 8 runs. India simply collapsed from 331/5 to 364 all out. BTW, what England could have done without Anderson? He played this test match despite not being 100% fit.

The players of Indian team is good, their management is very experienced. They should give the bowlers some batting training so that they can help the team even if they are low in bad times.

England lost two wickets for just 23 runs. Mohammad Siraj has taken two wickets off two balls. Good start for India. If the bowlers can continue their streak, we will definitely see the result in this match, and Team India will win.

In the Test match between Pakistan and West Indies, Pakistan lost all their wickets by scoring only 217 runs in the first innings. But the funny thing is, West Indies lost 2 wickets for 2 runs in just 4 overs of their innings. I thought the West Indies had a chance to win this match. But I forgot that they are too much weak in Test format. It seems that Pakistan will win this match if they will bat well in their 2nd innings.

When Pakistan started the innings, i was so disappointed to see our batsman batting poorly with no plan and technique. The highest scores were Fawad Alam 56 and Faheem Ashraf 44. Rest of the batsmen did not make any contribution. Seeing this performance one can easily judge that Pakistan will lose the match.
However i was surprised to see the West Indies did not took advantage of this but rather got their 2 wickets in 2 runs only making then under pressure. If Pakistan can bowl them under 150 and give them the total of around 300 for the chasing, i think Pakistan have good chances to win this test match.

Pakistan's top order batsmen were flops. But their middle-order batsmenera played well. And so they have been able to collect more than 200. Moreover, the pitch may be helpful in bowling. West Indies players are also having trouble collecting runs. If Pakistan can bowl well, West Indies will lose all their wickets before 200.

Not a good day for Indians so far. In comparison to 1st day, today pitch was good to bat on but they only added 88 runs and lost 7 wickets. Rahane keep disappointing the fans, he and Puji are out of form completely and looks like freeloader nowadays. Management need to consider dropping at least one guy and may be bring back Hanuma Vihari in the middle order for the next 2 games.

LOL.. I would rather prefer some of the younger guys. Hanuma Vihari is having a test batting average of just 32, and that is even worse than what Temba Bavuma has in test format. He played a dozen matches for India, thanks to being a favorite of MSK Prasad. But now that spot must go to Shreyas Iyer, Ruturaj Gaikwad or Abhimanyu Easwaran.

Just wondering, what would happen to this English bowling line up when Jimmy takes the retirement?

Oh.. don't worry about the retirement anytime soon. Looking at the ease at which he is bowling, I don't think that he's going to retire before 2030. BTW, no one will be seriously talking about the pace bowling issue with England, once Jofra Archer is back from injury.

I never expect much from Indian tail-enders except for a few like Ashwin, Sundar etc which is why I wasn't surprised to see them getting out for ducks and single figures. Also, if Pujara doesn't perform well for the rest of this series, I think he should be replaced.

Just wondering, what would happen to this English bowling line up when Jimmy takes the retirement?
They would still perform well thanks to bowlers like Robinson, Broad, Wood etc in my opinion.

England's bowlers seem a bit disappointed, Anderson is bowling well, Robinson has taken Kohli's wicket. No other bowler is so successful. The bowlers may have to get back on track today, or England will lose the match. India is performing exceptionally well. Kl Rahul is playing very well if he will scored 200 runs but I am not surprised.

India lost a few quick wickets. They are 283/5 now. And once again it is James Anderson and Ollie Robinson who have taken the wickets. The other two seamers are looking completely out of sorts. And now this is a very good opportunity for England. Two inexperienced batsmen are at the crease, and if they want they can restrict India to less than 350-400.  If they are able to do that, then they will be able to avoid the follow on, and most probably they will be able to save the match with some help from the rain gods.

If England could keep on picking wickets then they could restrict them by 350 runs and with the start they got, i thought they will not be coming out to bat in the second innings  Grin.

You think Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are inexperienced batsman, i was not a big fan of Rishabh Pant and his wicket keeping skills but his performance in the Australian tour changed my perspective as his performance was crucial for them to win the series against Australia even with a relatively new team.

India made 276/3. Now there are only two possible outcomes to this match - either India is going to win this, or we will get another boring draw as a result of rain interruption. Apart from the 39-year old James Anderson, none of the England bowlers looked as if they had the ability to trouble the Indian batsmen. I had high hopes for Ollie Robinson, but he was disappointing yesterday. Perhaps all the controversy surrounding the tweets he made a decade ago took its toll. BTW, Kohli's dry run continues.. this time he got a start, but couldn't get to a 50.

Did the Lords pitched turned to be a batting wicket, India is marching forward and they just lost 2 wickets and was KL Rahul there in the full squad earlier because India was having different openers in the last few series i saw and KL Rahul is taking the opportunity and he cemented the place with a century in this match and he is playing solid and along with Kohli they might put a huge total on board and with the bowlers India have they should trouble the England batsman but it all depends upon how the pitch will behave. ~
It seems so, the pitch reports says that it's a batting friendly pitch and it may turn as good for bowlers in the final two days. India has already made a good total by losing three wickets only. India will have the highest possibility to win this match if the pitch behaves as it was reported. Otherwise we will see another draw test match of this series.

K L Rahul is still on the pitch and he has been batting very well. I am sure if he stays on then India will be able to score more than 350. Unless the rain disrupts the match India should be able to win this test match. The wicket will get deteriorated as the match progresses and it will not be easy for English batsmen.

Possible another draw if there is rain intervention and with a batting pitch you cannot expect a result if there is sessions lost due to rain. India ended the day on a good score and the match depends upon how long the Indian batsman will bat tomorrow and if England could pick up wickets in quick succession then we might see a match at hands, if not another draw.

First 50 runs opening partnership for India at the Lord's since 1952 lol
I did not know this stats and they went on to score a century partnership and KL Rahul is still in the crease and hopefully goes on to score a double century, the pitch looks like there is nothing much to offer for the bowlers and the only thing India need to do is to put a total excess of 500 runs and see whether England crumbles under pressure and for that Ajinkya Rahane should play a crucial innings with Kohli back in the pavilion.

175 runs on the board, 33 overs left. One set batman Rahul along with Kohli, it seems situation is very much under control from Indian point of view. England would not be too happy after winning the toss. You expect your bowlers to strike early when opting to bowl first. India on the other hand would be very happy if they add even 80-90 runs in remaining 33 overs and lose may be 1 wicket? Wicket less would put India in very strong position.

Pujara's form is going down the drain, i'm afraid this could be his last test match in this series. Rahane looks safe tho.

India is in a very strong position, but I was disappointed to see Cheteshwar Pujara getting out once again for such a small score. Today it was the perfect opportunity for him, because when he arrived at the crease, the openers had already put up a decent toal. Unfortunately he couldn't handle James Anderson. I couldn't remember the last time when he got a test century for India. Earlier this year, his performance was poor during the home series against England as well. It looks as if he will be dropped after this series.
