On the other hand, Georgian people are so proud for their nation, that they can take huge loan, borrow money with wild %, that they will build in a month a venue that will fit tens or hundred thousands people, just to run an event where their champion defences his title. When Khabib won his belt and returned, he whole stadium went just to see him. And the government made even 1 day off. In Georgia, they would do the same. Sounds stupid, but I even think they dont need a venue. Create an octagon on flatland, and mountains will be crowded by spectators. Does not matter if all they see are two dots moving.

Something like this:

I dont think now is the right time for that there are active protests in many cities in Georgia now and that is not good circumstances for any big sporting event, but next year is possible if things calm down.

Exactly. Georgia is off the table until the situation stabilises. But even then, I don't think they actually have any suitable venues available.
A quick search tells me the largest venues (excluding football stadiums) have a max capacity of 10,000, which is less than the average attendance for the numbered events. Also, it's a small and not very wealthy country, so not many people could afford to (or be willing to) pay a few hundred USD.
It's possible that the Georgian government would be willing to support the UFC in organising the event and maybe even bear a portion of the costs, as it would be a good way to promote the country etc, but I wouldn't expect that to happen anytime soon.

A few days ago someone asked UFC boss about moving UFC in Georgia because there are two Georgian champions in ufc and their number is about to increase. Dana White's response about that is that he is willing to expand UFC to Georgia but I think you guys know it better. Are UFC events happening in other countries besides the USA? Is there a chance Dana White will make an event in a small country like Georgia? What are the ticket prices, does anyone know?

Btw there is some news which I think you'll like. Merab Dvalishvili finally decided to fight against Umar Numagomedov. Many were saying that Merab was scared of Umar, now what are they going to say about this? I hope Merab wins this fight. On whose side are you guys?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UFC_311

And it is already announced that it will be in Inglewood, CA. Dagestani guys are now drinking validolum to calm down, as the level of wrestling in this fight is going to be as high as possible. Will we see Khabib in the corner of both main and co-main event fights? Double champ from Dagestani? Nurmagomedov's father legacy?

Maybe Turkey could be another option, this country is bordering with Georgia and atmosphere in arena would be hot for sure.
Chances for that would be bigger if Turkey had top UFC fighters, but I dont think so.

So Merab wants the fight held in Georgia?  It's every champ's dream.
Depending on how many fighters they feature from Georgia or close to this country, most probably the Dagestanis will fill the stadium. He should be careful who to fight whenever he wants it in his country because he might disappoint fellow countrymen.

All I can say is that he has the right to decline fights, especially Umar.

From what I saw on the reddit, a lot of comments are like "I hope Pantoja wins" and few are like "That guy from low league that has never defended a title has no chances". I sure understand the origins of "that guy from", but why others hope that Pantoja wins ? Cheesy I went looking his highlights Cheesy Ok, he can knock people out with hands, but all or majority of them were in the ring. Octagon is different. You cant catch opponent in the corner, it is bigger.

It appears that many of the fans are underestimating, not the Japanese man, however, underestimating uncle Dana and the matchmakers' capabilities on choosing very talented fighters. Agreed that it is headshaking that why did uncle Dana accepted this Japanese man from a low league as challenger of the champion of the highest league? They might have noticed something in the style of this Japanese man and they might have also witnessed something in the style of Pantoja hehehehe. My prediction is uncle Dana has predicted that this Japanese man will knockout the champion before round 3 hehehehehehe.

It's possible. The Japanese however is used to soccer kicking grounded opponents, which is not allowed in the UFC. With this rule, he may not be capable when the fight is on the ground against Pantoja. Somehow this is unpredictable since Kai also has a fast hand, all he can hope is Pantoja gonna be KOd with one punch because if not, Pantoja gonna take him down.

Kai gonna make the division exciting though when he fights to gain back a title shot.

Problem is that fighters complained for being put into prelims, and they are highly ranked, one of them had title fights not long ago.
UFC match making is tricky business and you cant make everyone happy, but maybe they had some internal problem with Dana White and that put them down and removed from main card.

I'm starting to think that placing established fighters in prelims is some sort of punishment and a signal that the UFC does not intend to invest in promoting them anymore.
It reminds me of putting Mokaev in the prelims at the UFC 304 in Manchester, which is (or was) his hometown and he was pretty popular back then. I thought it was a tactical move to make sure the UK fans would watch the whole thing, despite unusual hours, but we all know what happened to him later.

Aljo is not holding back and openly expresses his disappointment about not being on the main card:

UFC put Rosas in early prelims on UFC 306 that took in Sphere. It was on the same date with Mexican independence day, and they put growing star in the very first fight of the evening. UFC 310 is on December 7 and on that day Pearl Harbor was attack by Japanize air forces with kamikaze on board. I doubt that the logic is make a revenge by brutally beating Asakura Cheesy I really that Asakura deserve that instant title shot, and the rest division that stands in queue to face champ would not be much angry because of that.

^  Uh...  GTFO with that kind of sht.  I mean sure it could happen but don't talk like you know it's def gonna happen.  Lol.  Like wtf...

Anyway can't wait for the pre fight conference for this one as we have Ian Garry.  Cheesy Cheesy  The guy is pretty good with the mic as he could rile his opponents up and has a way with the audience to hate him.

The logic might be - we must dilute prelims and early prelims with big names, otherwise people would switch their channels and return only for 2-4 fights in main cards, but we need to sell ads Cheesy

Exactly, who this guy Asakura really is? Cheesy If he was really a prodigy, then he would be in UFC long time ago. If he had a clean record, we would know this guy long time ago and wait for his debut, also people would flood Dana with this guy. I open https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kai_Asakura and see 21-4, fought last time year ago, many unknown fighters in his record. And this guy is given a credit of trust to have a debut fight against champion. Especially when there are guys who stand in line for a title fight for years. In addition this guy is 31 already, which, for a flyweight is close to have a career downtrend to start. And now the funny part, this guy was a current Rizin bantamweight champion, only because previous guy vacated it Cheesy I can suppose that this is an attempt to get a peace of Asian market.

They say he's a 'bad ass' in Japan, but I've never seen him fight and I don't think he'd beaten guys at the same level of skill as the guys in the UFC.  Am I saying that Pantoja will surely win 10 out of 10?  No...  But if I were to bet money on the fight, I'd def always bet Pantoja at the current line at almost 1.40.

But let's just watch the fight and hope it will be a good one.

I think that Japans fans will get disappointed as the odds show that Asakura is a huge underdog with 3.10. Most of Asakura opponents were strikers, and now he faces a champ who is blackbelt in bjj and half of his wins are by submission. Even the fight is in Vegas (I guess everyone know how judges in Japan like to give victory to home fighters). Everything is against Asakura. If he manages to pull an upset, that will be really shocking.

I really wish Shavkat would teach Garry manners and avenge Magny's loss.

UFC 310 main event - it is indeed Kai Asakura's UFC debut and he's getting a title shot straight away. I think it's justified, as Asakura was Rizin's bantamweight champion until he vacated the belt in June 2024. I think the other reason behind the UFC giving him a shot is that they want to attract more fans from Japan, who are always very supportive of their fellow countrymen performing well in martial arts. Plus, the flyweight is the least popular among all weight classes, so there's no harm in propping it up by acquiring new fighters and making it more interesting. I think it has the potential as fights there are usually pretty entertaining and fast-paced. It's just the fighters in that division are less known to the public (and the UFC can be blamed for this to some degree).

^  Not just that...  Who is this guy Asakura..?  Cheesy  And remember, Pantoja vs Asakura was supposed to be the co main event for Muhammad vs Rakhmonov.  That would've been Rakhmonov's break out event and pretty sure he would've own Muhammad's ass in the cage and become the champ.

But I don't mind him and Garry go at it either.

Here's a vid with all of Rakhmonov's matches.

Upcoming UFC event is looking very interesting but I it is funny that I am not that interested in watching main event Pantoja vs Asakura.
Another strange thing I saw is that UFC added Aljamain Sterling vs Movsar Evloev fight into prelims, not as a main card fight  Shocked
I dont understand what is the logic behind this decision, I am expecting this to be one of the best fights in this whole card.

The reason why little people are interested in watching Pantoja vs Asakura, but rather would watch Rakhmonov vs Garry because of the weight division. Personally I find it less exciting to watch little and light guys fight. All those 55-60kg guys are like schoolkids today. I prefer to watch when huge guy beats other huge guy. Every time I see those huge boxers, mma guys, they have a special dangerous aura around them. But all those skin and bones... Dangerous, but their look does not scare me Cheesy
