After failing to win the title from khabib, now dustin poirier experienced the same thing when he fought against Oliveira at UFC 269 yesterday, this is dustin poirier's second failure to win the title, even though poirier had won in the second round but unfortunately he had to suffer defeat due to lockdown in the third round and ensured his dream of becoming lightweight champion was shattered, I think at the age of 32 now, it will be very difficult for Poirier to be able to win the title in the next fight and reportedly after the defeat to Oliveira made Dustin Poirier doubt his future and the likelihood that he will choose to retire.

Julianna Peña +650 underdog. Damn, I was shocked with the result too. How many gamblers lose their money on this event?  Grin Even Joe Rogen might've put all his money on Nunes.
That brawl on the second round was the best and I am raping the replay.  Grin That kind of thing doesn't happen a lot of times so yes it's entertaining and I wish Nunes the best and maybe train her stamina to get the title back.
Congratulations to Peña.

I lost my bet on Amanda Nunes, but, well, who didn't? But after watching UFC 269: Julianna Peña Post-Fight Press Conference I was really swept off my feet by her cuteness. And not only that. It appeared that Nunes was postponing fights with Peña over and over in the past(maybe thinking that it wasn't that important for her career, idk), and now she was so sure of her victory that she wasn't even training much before the fight, while Julianna Peña was working hard, and she deservedly won. I'm glad she won.

Looks like a KO in Lewis vs Daukaus fight is the one that is going to save the event from being boring. I have scrolled through the main and prelims and havent found any familiar name in it. Maybe Thompsons can surprise the crowd as he is top5 in welterweight. But this division is full of other stars and the name of Thompsons has lost among them imho). That is quite strange, a guy is on such a position in top and other fighters in division barely mention his name.

Or I am just too spoiled with previous events… I just watch those who usually does not win be points.

Since we are in gambling section - do you guys often make bets? Anyone one of you listen to what is posted here while making a bet? Or were he just bla-bla-bla all the time ? Cheesy

I'm expecting a KO/TKO in both the Derrick Lewis fight, and the Wonderboy fight. Only doubt is the Wonderboy fight due to Wonderboy not exactly loading up on his shots, and being more a point based fighter. Though, I don't think Belal will have much to offer on the night. Very bad match up for him I'd say, I would be very surprised if he manages to get anything in the rounds. Not sure what his game plan will be, not particularly great at anything, while Wonderboy probably being one of the best stand up fighters in the UFC, despite slowing slightly with age.

^  Heh yeah...  But Lewis can get a KO out of nowhere.  Go watch Lewis vs Volkov in MMA Core.  It should be still there.z

And watch this vid.

UFC Free Fight:  Lewis vs Blaydes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqYQTDEYDCA

Blaydes was doing really great with the striking until he went for a TD without setting it up.  Got starched by Lewis with an uppercut.  Lol.

I guess if Daukas touches him in the chin it’s gonna be nighty night.  But we’ll see.  I got Daukas but I love them both.  The bout will def not go over R3.

Here’s a free vid of Daukas’ last match.

I am also pumped to see the main fight. This fight definitely gonna end with a KO/TKO. Both guys just dont know how fight elsehow Cheesy I also think this is going to be a short fight. Daukaus opponents barely survive till second round. Lewis 5 out of 8 losses are by KO/TKO, so I doubt that he has an anvil in his chin. I havent check the odds, but I think Lewis will be a favourite, however Daukaus has more chances to win. Lewis is, I would say, lazy in the ring. Lazy and cunny, likes to walk slowly in the ring, waiting for his opponent to lose stamina. He tries to show that he is tired and hurt, then explode with a punches. I bet Daukaus wont let Lewis play this game and the fight wont last more than 2 rounds.

^ Well a lot had happened and I never imagine how good Charles Oliveira is and for me, Tony Fergusson is not a big an achievement than    Justin Gaethje, Max Holloway, Dan Hooker, and Conor McGregor, but that technicality of what Oliveira did was impressive, So I surely love to stay and have a lot of conversation regarding what happened to 269, but I really want to move on and move forward.

^  I looove the main event.  Chris Daukas has been my guy since his UFC debut last year vs Parker Porter.  I have always placed some ML action on him in whatever line the books give.  Smiley  It’s sad he’s matched up vs Derrick Lewis tho.  This is Daukas’s big test.  If he wins this match, I think he’s one fight away then a title shot.  I’ll bet Daukas but super low confidence.

Other spots I like are Elkins to win at 2.65, Gato to win at 2.55, maybe Andre Ewell at 2.60.  Lemos vs Hill under 2.5 rounds at 2.60 looks good imho.  Lemos finishing ability is undervalued by the books.

Just found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=580eY6IqI6w

After Oliveira won in UFC and was walking through the crowd to his locker room, some guy stole his glasses. These were not his stylish sun glasses, but a regular glasses. That is a lot of disrespect. The guy whole stole them, he is not a fan, but a thief. In the comment below some guy wrote that this thief deserves a punch in a face and I agree with him. Good glasses are not cheap and they can not be obtained with a finger snap, specially if you are abroad.

Amanda can bring a lot of fans which I guess If I have to create a conspiracy about it, Dana plans to have a trilogy for the two to make more money and that for the rematch Amanda will win. A cash grab for UFC promotion.
Oohh some good theory there. It's possible and they have to make as much money as they could while they are letting fans watch the game.
Soon, a new variant will come out and we might go back to the bubble style. Stay at home and just watch pay-per-view.
I tried reading back to all the analysis that was made and all are 90 percent for Amanda to take the win. Maybe, just maybe it was all a bit scripted by Dana for the purpose that you said. But we have no proof of it and just be thankful it was an entertaining match.
Right now, that fight will be on top of my upset list.

I mean, the whole fight looked like two drunks trying to hit each other in a pitch dark alley behind the bar.
LOL! I didn't want to say that but it's what we noticed too while we were watching. Some of my pals were disappointed actually Grin It would have been okay/understandable to see them just brawl like that if it was the fourth or fifth round.

I don't have a lot to say about this fight. Probably just toss a coin for a winner and choose win by KO/TKO.

This week biggest upset was Nunes loss, the goat was unable to defend her title against Penya, she was dominated. Uncle Dana will be very upset on his star champion.
Am pretty sure a lot of people lost that bet!
Dustin Poirier was unable to capture what he was looking for, the title that he had long anticipated, I was surprised how easily Olivera was able to hold him down the canvas which might be due to some injuries he had sustained in the previous fights, but this was definately out of the character for him.
As I predicted in my earlier fight Shawn O'Malley dominanted the fight and got other highlight finish.

A monster like Amanda isn't likely going to be ruined easily. Never thought that Nunes will be defeated by Penya who doesn't even have a good Knockout record which I think Nunes didn't really do her best in this fight or it could be planned.

It's always nice seeing a notification when you log in to your bookie that you won something Grin Great job Charles!

~ Actually, I'd say this is a good thing for Nunes, this will drive her forward as she might have become too cozy in her world dominance.
Agreed. I'm not taking anything away from Julianna but Amanda seemed off. It could be the lack of motivation from dominating the previous heavyweights in women's division.

Anyway, I'm looking forward for the rematch and hoping for a better odds for the former champ because I'm betting on her.

Nope, nothing taking away from Pena, but Nunes seemed as she regressed in her fighting style. I mean, the whole fight looked like two drunks trying to hit each other in a pitch dark alley behind the bar. Strawweight is a better representation of where women's MMA should be quality-wise than this.

Yup...  I’m with you.  I’d rather see Makhachev matched up vs a grappler than see Gaethje taking a shot for the title at 155.  But yeah...

I mean, I'd say it upfront, I am a Dariush fan and so help me lord he will win against Makhachev. But in case that doesn't happen Smiley I would like to see Makhachev vs Olives because that's a close as will get to getting a Khabib kinda style tested by elite BJJ.

Julianna Pena messed up all Dana White plans he had for mega fight Amanda Nunes vs Kayla Harrison, but it was well deserved and everyone got bored with cocky Nunes behavior.
I am glad someone put her on the ground and showed her that she is not unbeatable Khabib, but I am also a bit pissed off because I lost my bet on this fight.
Charles Oliveira is now officially proven that he is the legend of Lightweight division and I think that Justin Gaethje is next on the line in his kill list.

The biggest highlights for me is Pena beating Nunes, such a shock, something never expected by almost anyone who wagered on that fight especially since she just came back from childbirth, pretty sure a lot of persons lost money betting on that fight. Charles Oliveira is a very talented and crafty fighter as well, congratulations to him.

Amanda Nunes did not give childbirth. It was her wife Nina Ansaroff Nunes who gave birth and lost her fight to Mackenzie Dern. However, Amanda appeared to tap very quickly. I speculate that she has appeared to have lost her hunger to be the best MMA fighter. She is already a husband and a father to a baby girl. She also has made much money to take care of them. I predict she will win the rematch next year and announce her retirement.

Well I got it all wrong aswell, I thought that Amanda was the one that gives birth aswell, but realizing that she is in the LGBTQ community and Nina Ansaroff was the one who gave birth, but apparently, Amanda Nunes can't become a dad, but both of them can become a mom, of Raegan Ann Nunes, well apparently the hunger for Nunes was really gone that is why she had lost the fight or maybe readying to retire on the UFC and focus more on her family,

~
However, Amanda appeared to tap very quickly. I speculate that she has appeared to have lost her hunger to be the best MMA fighter.
Well, it's clear that she doesn't have the same hunger but she probably doesn't want to be put to sleep that's why she just tapped. It wouldn't have made any difference if she tried to break free because she looks too tired to even defend that choke.

The 1st round was for Amanda Nunes, but yes Amanda Nunes have gas out the 2nd round that Julianna Peña brawled Nunes and out brawl her, and always landed her looping punches, that was a huge upset for Amanda Nunes, but I was still in shock from the result because I really never realize how that happens, on how Nunes gas out easily.

And the underdog won. Yep, the champ is the underdog because many believe Dustin Poirier is about to whack him. Turns out they are rooting for the wrong guy.
Bookmaker counted him out vs Poirier but managed to prove them all wrong. Dustin isn't an all-around fighter who can manage on the ground, the gas tank drained after that and the night becomes the underdog domination. The body shots I guess hit Dustin so hard.
The reason everyone was considering Charles Oliveira as an underdog was because he had so many defeats in his record especially against good strikers and he had loosing streak in the past but he got in my radar when he defeated Tony Ferguson and then i looked back and checked his fights after his defeat against Paul Felder and i was surprised that he was finishing all those fights with his submission skills and he improved his overall striking game.

Dustin Poirier is not a one trick pony as well, he has good ground game and he has good chokes.
