The only 1 who was able to stop Jones was DC imo).
Why? Because of the drugs involved in their second fight? Even though Jones kind of cheated, I wouldn't consider that as a win for DC also.

I think DC was the only one who had real chances of beating Jones. Ok, except Reyes, dont know much about this guy. But if to compare DC and Reyes records, DC won more elite fighters than Reyes. Would be nice to see DC vs Reyes, to find out who is right, but to bad DC is aiming to make a third fight agains Miocic and that is going to be his last fight in career.

Time to move on guys.  Let's just hope Reyes gets an immediate rematch...  I kinda doubt that's gonna happen tho.  Jones' next fight will be the winner the next event...
I am also not expected an immediate rematch for Reyes and in the fight i am expecting Corey Anderson to win the fight because he won the first fight against Jan Błachowicz and i am expecting the same this time around and i was impressed with the last fight of Corey Anderson against Johnny Walker.

My prediction for the event are.
Macy Chiasson vs Shanna Young: Macy Chiasson
Corey Anderson vs Jan Błachowicz: Corey Anderson

There are some old generation fighters in this card like Diego Sanchez (41 fights), Tim Means (41 fights), John Dodson(31 fights) and Jim Miller(44 fights) which means a combined fights of 157 fights which is really crazy and taxing on their body and i have no idea how they will perform.

^ ^   Corey Anderson is also mad as f**k at the UFC (for not giving him fair treatment).  Between those two, I'll be rooting for him to face Jones next.  Grin

Quite amazed that Diego Sanchez is still active. Remember him from first season of Ultimate Fighter.
That was a long time ago but I still remember that too.
It's already good to see him still active but even more impressive is him being part of the co-main event.
He hasn't really evolved since his younger years as a fighter. Still the same slugger but probably not as tough physically as before.

Quote
Btw Corey Anderson believes in himself to much as he says "HAPPY JON JONES WON AT UFC 247: ‘I GET TO BE THE ONE TO DETHRONE HIM’". Also the winner of Anderson-Blachowicz fight will be the first contender to face Jones. (Frankly, both done have much chances against him.

Every fighter in that division wants to have that bragging rights. He shouldn't take his eyes off his opponent.

His opponent - Michel Pereira seems same style and experience guy. This is gonna be a very close with with slight advantage of Pereire.

other than the 3 judging panel what is the solution to rectify these problems as a win will change a fighters life and fortune so they need to sort this out soon.
There are many options thrown like open scoring with experienced fighters and having a 5 judging panel rather than having 3 judges, from my perspective i want to see the athletic commission to make sure the incompetent judges should not allowed to judge again as there were many shitty decisions in the past and the decisions from UFC 247 has brought back the topic once again because of the score card the judges scored for the entire fight card with many dubious decisions in many fights.

Adesanya should have faced Paolo Costa. According to is higher than Romero, and lower than Whittaker (who Adesanya KO'd).
Paolo Costa was injured and so is the reason Israel Adesanya called out Yoel Romero and if you look at his fight against Paola Coasta and Robert Whittaker both were really close fights and you can make a decision that Romero won both those fights.

Paolo Costa is 13-1 right now. Last time found Romero this summer. Its obvious he should have been first contender to fight Adesanya.
According to the rankings that was the case but Paolo Costa is unable to take the fight and hence they put together the Romero fight. I thought he was injured rather than any steroid issue.

There is only 1 reason why Adesanya isn't fighting Costa - Costa was caught by United States Anti-Doping Agency several times. Maybe Dana doesn't want to face problems if Costa wins and later there will be found steroids in his blood. Or UFC Boss Dana White Urges Paulo Costa To Slow Down After Surgery.

The questions and doubts about the Adesanya-Romero fight for UFC 248 is understandable. I can only think of the Whittaker-Romero 2 as one reason why Israel decided to call him out. That fight was really great to watch and Romero got so close to becoming the champion.

~ We saw a tired JJ that could get KO'ed from Reyes in any moment, we saw him that he is no longer in his prime for years now ~
No one can argue that he is not past his prime but tired and KO'ed at any moment? Come on now. Did you see how Reyes punches slowed down and was just swinging in the later rounds? Did you see how many times Jones just kept moving forward after getting hit?

~ Maybe the consistent pressure he gave (like what joe rogan said)? If that's the case then do you really believe it weighs greater than Reyes' tons of sharp punches he threw? You decide. But for me, nah I don't think so.
Part of the judging criteria was cage control and I don't remember one criteria having more weight than the other.

Although scoring is done round by round in the UFC, Reyes really fell short in rounds four and five. They call them championship rounds for a reason.

When all the emotions are gone, we should probably watch the fight again and without all the commentaries.
I watched the replay 2x (with commentaries) and round two, for me, was really won by Jones and the fourth and fifth.

I also watched the replay yesterday. It strengthened my decision that Dominic Reyes won round 1, 2, and 3, however hehehe.

I am also sad that Jonny Walker lost his last fight. He might be the one.

Still more than three weeks away before the UFC 248 (Adesanya - Romero) but it's getting entertaining already with the promotion turning into some dance showdown. Enjoy the Romero back flip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxojNF_L0CE
I really don't understand what's gotten into Adesanya for choosing to fight Romero. I mean he hasn't won in his last two or three fights and yet he's challenging for the title. For sure the other fighters who are more deserving are furious about this. Romero may be a really tough fighter and Adesanya is probably curious if he can knock the challenger out but this is still unfair to be honest.

Cherry pick of course, Romero is a damage good already, used to be a monster in his prime but now he is old. And once Adensanya won, I'm sure lots of challenger are going to be in line. Maybe he just wanted to show his tools with an old and way past prime Romero. It's not about how curious he is in knocking his challenger, but to really look good in a win here.

I can't wait for rematch with normal judges
In rematches Jon Jones always perform better and finishes both his rematch opponents and it will be a great fight without a doubt but whether we will get the rematch immediately is a big question.

Every fight right now is about money mate but I still do not get this fight. There's no beef between the two and it's like Romero is on a good winning streak. In the press conference, Dana said that fighters who fought Romero before were more hurt than him even though they won. Maybe that's something Adesanya wants to find out for himself.
The only reason Romero got the title shot is because Israel Adesanya wanted to fight him as no one called him out and he is a stud and Paulo Costa is injured and it will be a great fight without a doubt, this year started with Conor McGregor and the second month we had Jon Jones and then we have Israel Adesanya and then Khabib and Tony fight is coming up.

There was only one abnormal score there but I get your point. Decision like this is what you will get when there are more than one criteria for judging. If the UFC can come up with better rules like eliminate the scoring per round put more weight to damage inflicted or strikes to opponent, maybe there will be less controversial fights. I doubt that will ever happen though.

Maybe Adesanya thinks this is going to be an easy fight for him? I doubt that Adesanya chose Romero "because he wants to get some kind of experience in fighting against Olympic silver medalist and World gold medalist".

Imho it is all about money, easy win, this will save him from fighting other (probably better) opponent (possibility to lose title).

Despite Romero is one of my favourite fighters, he has no chances this time. His opponent is almost 2 times younger (Romero usually has problems with stamina in 3+ rounds), mostly wins by TKO/KO (Romero has eaten lots of strikes in career, doubt that he can hold strikes like could 3-5 years ago, plus his injuries).

On the judging, even Dana had it 3-2 Reyes but.... "We're not judges"
I don't belive him, we all know that Jones is one of Dana's pets and favorite. But well, I'll give him the benfit of the doubt because he's right in the part that he is obviously not one of the judges on that fight.

Hahaha, I watched it and now we know that Adesanya is no match in the dance floor agains Yoel lol. But what about inside the cage? Are you with the Last Stylebender or with the Soldier of God? I know everyone loves Yoel but I think the odds will be still in favor of Adesanya Cheesy.

@eality - like I said, let's watch it again after a few months when all emotions are gone. During his post fight interview at UFC247, Jon Jones mentioned that those who thought Thiago Santos won during their match realized that maybe Jones really won after watching it again (he was referring to Melendez and some other guy).

Or least give Dom a shot at Jones again, unless Jones avoid it by going up to heavyweight.
Hahaha I think that would be a worse decision for him. Even if it would be his last resort in order to avoid facing Reyes, then he should not go up to HW division (if he is wise enough). Why? Because that's a whole different thing. That's the place of "one shot, one kill" and I doubt he can survive it; even thinking his "eye poking technique" will not work out as well Grin.

Much better if he will just face Reyes once again and prove to us that he really deserve the belt he is wearing for a long time.

Right, but he is talking about moving up in weight in his previous interviews.

Anyways, I will get Jones the prop if he jumps on the gun and request an immediately rematch, unlike what he has done with Gus.

@mich  - that's what I'm f**ing screaming about, those judges are not watching the fight.
