The third round was a 10-8 round and from the third round Conor slowed down a lot and after getting beaten up he somehow came back in the 4th round and won that.
If the judges called it a draw then it would have been great as one judge scored a round 10 to 8 favoring Nate Diaz and hence it was a draw in one judges view and the rest of the judges gave the same rounds to Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor and it would have been a draw in my opinion rather than giving Conor the win as the fight was really close and if that fight was a draw then the career would have been different for Conor  Cheesy.

It was not a split decision but a majority decision as Conor McGregor won three wounds and Nate Diaz won two rounds, the rounds Conor McGregor lost  was third and fifth round and the fourth round was touch and go and it is only because he got tired after the second round and even with the match against Cowboy if it goes to the third round then the chance for Conor to win goes down.
Here is the scorecard

I think Conor won by one round but we can all argue who really won and each fighter have a good case. One thing is certain though, it wasn't a dominant performance and it could have gone either way. The split decision says it all.

Lewis answer was interesting. All this time I was thinking the cardio would be Conor's downfall and have set aside the fact that Donald has his lethal body and head kicks also.

^  Still too close tho.  And remember how convincing Diaz's win was in their first bout.  I hope McGregor doesn't win exactly like how he won in his second fight vs Diaz.  That would suck for him imo.
One change with the first fights in 170 pounds is that he was physically not prepared as he was planning for a 155 bout and then he needs to move to a higher weight division because Nata Diaz was not able to cut the weight in a short period of time and he wanted the fight to be in that same weight class because of his competitive nature and confidence and right now he is physically prepared to be in the 170 pounds and i am sure he will perform better than his past performance and since he physically transformed putting in some weight who knows now he might have the knockout power in the higher division.

Here's another tape of McGregor.  Watching it again, I think an argument could be made that Diaz won?  I mean it can go both ways...  If McGregor won, you can argue Diaz won and if it was Diaz, you can argue for McGregor.

I fear for him vs Cerrone.

That was a great performance for Conor McGregor you can surely see the precision and accuracy with his hits, you can see his composure and that he is calm in this matchup, You can see that Nate Diaz's Nose was already red on the first round, but on the Second round Nate Diaz sense that McGregor was fading and Conor on the Third Round was Running around the ring, I think if this issue in Connor was still there when he fights Cerrone even if he get bulkier now he can not last long for 5 rounds on his momentum.

Nice! find speculation on what may happen on McGregor VS Cerrone fight but let's just wait and see.

It would be funny if he would not say that  Grin You know world, we have been training hard, but managed to get only 80% of what Conor is able to show.
That would be a master piece dialogue of Kamaru Usman when he fought Emil Weber Meek that he fought only 30% because he was expected to finish the fight fast but went to a decision and that was his post fight delivery  Cheesy, now reports are coming out that Conor is more interested to fight Kamaru Usman for the belt than Masvidal, not sure what is intentions are but he is eyeing a lot of opponents to make things interesting for the fans.

McGregor's head coach John Kavanagh seemed pretty confident that we'll get the best version of McGregor in the coming event.  He says the ex champ has been training hard...  We'll see.

I do believe what John Kavanagh says is true as Conor McGregor was really humiliated by Khabib Nurmagomedov and i am sure he wanted to prove to the world that he still belongs in the cage and can perform and make money and that is the only reason he is coming back and he will be training his hearts out to win the fight against Donald Cerrone as he will be having other plans after the bout.

we can say that's the old Conor, the one who was able to KO any opponent, but i don't trust in the new Conor, i don't know if it's because he stay away from the UFC or what hapenend, but i don't feel like it's the same pearson.

The reason Conor McGregor was successful earlier in his career is because of the high confidence he had in himself and that same confidence is seen when he went to fight Floyd Mayweather who is arguably the greatest boxer in history and the confidence to debut against a fighter like that shows his confidence and after the amount of money he made with that fight he did not need to return to MMA to fight against Khabib and he thought he was able to walk through him like he did with everyone else playing mind games but that backfired big time but i am sure he can fight against Nate and Cerrone and win the fights but rematching Khabib right now will be a bad decision as he has other fights that he can win.

In my opinion, maybe he is just jealous about Masvidal getting the BMF belt but he really likes a good return so he is aiming for a great challenge even if he would challenge Khabib the one that defeated him in the past I think that there is no stopping him from that route.
The smart move for Conor McGregor and Dana White is a rematch between Nate Diaz and it will be a blockbuster event and then must rematch Aldo and Max Holloway and these are easy big money fights and the fans will be watching those rather than going after fights that are impossible to match at this stage of his career. He surprised many with his skills in the past but against a ground specialist like Khabib i do not see a chance unless he could catch him in the first or second round.

Well, I think that is very real that Mcgregor can take on Nate Diaz in a fight that forcing his way to Khabib that had a ground advantage over him, Well maybe if he could win over Cowboy Cerrone on UFC 246 and if he could defeat Cowboy Cerrone maybe he can get a shot against Nate Diaz But Dana White had a bigger plan for Conor and that is if Khabib can win against his fight with Ferguson he might have a title shot even though his fight is taking place on a 170-pound division he can surely get a shot against Khabib again.

Conor vs Cerrone
The ratio is totally 1-sided for Conor , it would be smart to bet on Cerrone .
If a betting house is favoring Conor McGregor to win then there might be something to think rather than thinking about keeping the smart money for Cerrone to win, the problem with Cerrone is that he starts really slow and to get to his grove he needs to drag the fight to the third round so that Conor's patented cardio comes into play  Cheesy and only if that happens i see Cerrone winning this fight.
