I think Ben Askren will continue to improve and come back learning from these mistakes.
If you remember Ben Askren retired from MMA and was teaching wrestling in schools before getting an opportunity in the UFC because of the media sensation it created because of social media hype that they wanted to see the undefeated Askren in the UFC and i have no doubt that he is a good fighter and a good wrestler but he was not facing elite fighters as a champion in other organization but in the UFC you will only see killers in the top ten and a lapse of concentrate means you are sleeping.

Pretty much Askren and Maia wants to show everybody that they can fight in a hand to hand combat as well, but pretty much Askren sure have many mistakes when they decided to take it on the ground and yes Maia has a pretty big advantage over Askren it is shown on the third round people have seen the big difference between the two, and yes maybe Askren need to sit this one now he now got two consecutive lost pretty much Maia is a better when fighting on the ground and all have seen this when the two collide.
If they wanted to show the entire audience about their hand skills we all saw that in this fight, it was wrestler against a ground specialist and Ben Askren never faced anyone in his life who has a ground game like Demian Maia and a single mistake to a top level fighter like that will be disastrous and we saw that in this fight. I think Ben Askren will continue to improve and come back learning from these mistakes.

A great fight for both fighters the first round was for Demian Maia giving pressure to Askren with some punches even though Askren is doing some sneak attacks on the upper Maia keep on waging the fist on Askren, While on the 2nd round was Ben Askren had turned the table and pretty sure Maia was slow in this round but still when the 3rd round comes Maia was so crafty with his moves turning the tables against Askren by taking the submission and turning it on until Ben Askren got in a wrong position that Maia take the chance in taking the punches then the submission rear-naked choke on Askren,

Well they decided to have a stand-up fight on the duration of the fight and I think Askren has some success and caught Demian several times. There where attempts on Askren for a take down. Ben was successful with his upper cuts and when the fights goes to the ground,  Maia proved to be the superior one. Askren said that he had a lot of positions that he shouldn't be in the first place, that's why he lost.

I just the hype is over for Ben now, he can't back that big mouth of his because of two successive lost.

With majority of the fights outside EU and US time zones should be advertised so that everyone can watch the match live

I don't know why they don't use simple countdown method on UFC website.
That way anyone in the world would know exact time when event is starting.

I missed several events for this reason only Sad
Maybe someone can even earn by creating website dedicated only for this.

I was a bit surprised with Stevie Ray decision win against Michael Johnson (29-28, 29-28, 28-28).
Before fight I was thinking that Johnson was favorite and odds where in his favor also.
I missed the fights because of the time zone changes and i was expecting the fight to take place later but then when i saw the results here i was thinking what the hell, i was looking for the Ben Askren fight and i am looking for rebroadcast to watch those or have to download it from somewhere.

I wish there was some countdown to UFC events, as I can't track all this time zone changes   Roll Eyes

Well, I get quite the lost over there but I somehow managed to take my lost back by betting on Stevie Ray on the Co-Main fight but it is still a great fight and I think Askren needs to make a decision if he may still continue or enough is enough for his career.

Ben Askren is finisihed!
I think this guys should not fight in UFC anymore.
You can see that UFC is top class compared to all other similar organisations

^  Yup...  So I guess he's done at the UFC?  I think he should stick to coaching.  He's a really smart guy imo.
I missed the fight altogether, he is a smart guy and he might consider retiring , unless and until he is able to move down the division or create a new 165 pound division i do not think that he is able to compete with the elite UFC fighters in the 170 pound division and now it is difficult to be back in the title contention as he already lost two fights in a row.

Ben Askren got humbled again as he was submitted by Demian Maia in the third round and yet another fighters undefeated record is gone for good with conviction considering the quick knockout he had in his last fight, so now there is no excuse and it is time for him to reconsider his future plan.
Two fights ended in submission and the rest of the fights were decisions.

Further laboratory testing conducted by the Sports Medicine Research and Testing Laboratory (SMRTL), a WADA-accredited lab in Salt Lake City, Utah, has confirmed that two bottles of the same organic, vegan, plant-based daily multivitamin that Mr. Diaz was using were each contaminated with LGD-4033, which the evidence supports resulted in Mr. Diaz’s positive sample.

So it's the bottles fault.

I've said earlier the Nate prides himself of being free from these substances that's why he's that confident. I can't say that announcing to the public made USADA go "soft" on him but that surely expedite the review of his case.

With all the drama, I hope they (Nate/Jorge) don't disappoint.

^  Why is USADA so damn strict?  Seriously.  If it were up to me, allow everybody to use a regulated amount of PED's and let them throw leather!
The reason for the strict decisions is because if someone is using PED they are cheating a hard working individual who is trying their best to make a career, this is pure business and these sports can make someone a millionaire or destroy their life and hence they need to be strict and it is simply because if you look in the past the entire Russian Olympic team were doing PED with the help of government approval and to avoid those it is necessary.

For you to understand better T.J. Dillashaw used illegal substance and made a career and the difference of pay scale as a champion is high and imagine the fighters he defeated including Cody Garbrandt, if Dillashaw was clean i still believe Cody would have been the champion and made a good life and would have changed his career but that was robbed by someone with unfair advantage.

Saying all these the athletes who are popped because of tainted supplement should get exception as they are not getting any performance enhancing benefits.

Well, I think they really want the sports industry clean of drug-abusing and players cheating, their way to winning I guess I understand their point but sometimes they are getting abusive with certain things and we don't know if they are really messing things around Nate Diaz, or if Diaz is really telling the truth, Well or maybe this is just for publicity stunt only and they are all messing things up, but pretty sure this can be fixed before the next UFC bout the UFC 244 starts to process, I just think that the government just wants a fair fight.

Magic magic Nate Diaz is cleared to fight and the USADA said he did not failed a drug test  Grin. I knew the UFC will pull the strings and Nate Diaz being cocky he released the news to the public through social media and if it was any other fighter they would have sorted this behind closed doors and no one would have known  Cheesy. They are claiming it to be contaminated food and he is allowed to fight while the rest of the fighters who failed due to contamination were suspended earlier unless they went through hearing and other court procedures.

What a bummer...  Besides McGregor I heard Leon Edwards' name thrown out there as one of the possible replacements.  But it wouldn't be as huge as Masvidal vs Diaz.
McGregor stepping in would make the event more yuuuge.
It is true that it will not be that huge to be a main even if there is no replacement like fighters of Nate Diaz or McGregor status. From what i see Nate Diaz released the story to the media rather than the USADA or the UFC releasing those and if Nate would not have done that i really think that the UFC had carried on with the fight, we all know Brock Lesnar for flagged and UFC kept that silent and went on with the fight and later Mark Hunt came to know about that and now he is fighting against them in court.
