We'll see how Ben Askren is really made off in this fight. Some fighters never really recovered after suffering their first and humiliating loss.

After all the big talks and challenging everyone in the UFC, the first fight had its controversy and he never gave a rematch to Robbie Lawler and in his second fight where he went to London to challenge Till but end up challenging Masvidal and that ended in five seconds and the next fight is not easy either, if he fails this one then he can retire  Cheesy.

The reception should be great for him. I'm sure he doesn't want to lose in front of the Asian crowd that will surely support him.

He is a popular fighter in Asia but he has to overcome Demian Maia which is a hard task.

If Askren is back with his mindset 100% then he wins. The location is also in Singapore, where he had many memorable fights. Maybe he will feel at home in this fight and boost his confidence.

The challenges are many for Ben Askren to be a champion in the UFC and this fight will give you an idea on how he could fight against high level grapplers, the toughest he fought is Shinya Aoki and a young Douglas Lima.
I thought his fight with Shinya Aoki was too easy for him (no offense to Shinya and his fans).

Coming up next will be Demian Maia vs Ben Askren. Is Askren the same after suffering that brutal seconds first round knockout? There's possible psychological effects and that was also his first lost on MMA.
It is a good fight because both are good grapplers and we will see who has the better techniques, Ben Askren was fighting championship level fights outside the UFC but when it comes to the UFC all the fighters are world class in the top 15 and one lack of concentration could end the fight and that is what we saw in the fight against Jorge Masvidal. Epic fight, I thought Cub was done after the first round and might ran out of gas. But damn those body shots it's all right in the money. Those two put a slug fest but I would agree that Cub is the clear winner here
It was a great fight and i made a bet for Cub to win the fight as i wanted to take a risk because of the experience level between the two and i knew Cub is coming to this fight after loosing a lot of fights and if he was to loose this fight he could have being released from the UFC and hence i felt that he could come up with an incredible fight and that is what we saw in the fight.

Good for you mate, the thing here, is that Gracie was off my radar (no offence to those fans), that's why I just put a bet on Cub here because of the very attractive odds as well. We all know that he is on a losing streak, but most of the time this experience fighters will deliver some vintage performance and this is what we seen in this fight.

Yes, you can't win from your own home comfort...or maybe you can if you turn on UFC game then you can be a champ
Here is one interesting MMA fight video to watch
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FguXuJOiEk0

If a 50 Kg black belt girl is fighting a man 2x her size who does not have any combat or martial arts experience she will easily defeat them, in a street fight there are no rules and a experienced martial arts know how to kick your groin and eye gauging is possible and then running is always the best self defense in the world and if you are a martial artist you will be fit enough to outrun them Tongue.

I agree 100%

There is a great difference between being a black belt in karate, taekwondo, jujutsu etc. and being able to effectively destroy someone in a combat situation.
Hope you are aware that these are fighting styles used to destroy people in a combat scenario and not like playing a virtual game of all these martial arts. I am not sure what you are trying to tell here, a normal person without any combat or martial arts experience will easily destroy someone who is learning these martial arts for years  Roll Eyes.

Oh excuse me Smiley, but if you really believe that a 50kg black belt girl can take on fit men 2x her size, then you might be better off staying home

@Vispilio
You must also have some supernatural powers now
as I see you can judge fight skills for all people now...even before you see them.

Make sure to call Michelle first and go one round in cage training with her and record it with your phone.
You will be guaranteed place in UFC   Tongue

I have been losing for four consecutive fight right now and I think it is my poor decision that is getting on to me, and with this recent fight against Joanna Jedrzejczyk vs Michelle Waterson I have seen a much experience on Waterson than Jedrzejczyk, Well because Waterson had a belt on Karate and other martial arts I have decided much potential on her, Than seeing the potential for Joanna Jedrzejczyk that is fighting elite fighters, I can say that I am pretty mesmerized by Michelle Waterson's Beauty that makes me have a silly decision, but I don't have any regrets!

notblox from that comment alone I guarantee that you have 0 fighting experience or any close quarters combat background.
just take my word for it before you embarrass yourself in real life,

ps. I would gladly take the other side of any bet you make regarding fighting or combat sports, but I'm almost 100% certain you wouldn't be able to treasure your promises when the payday comes.

I would bet any fighting girl who grew up in the streets would also take her out...

Whaaat ? Are you joking or what?
Joanna broke her won leg kicking her, and she was still fighting until last second.

I would bet all my crypto that she would kick or choke easy you and most regular guys on the street.

What do you see in a fighter to come to a conclusion that she is a fighter, for start she is fighting in the UFC and only the elite fighters will get the opportunity. She is not championship caliber fighter and she was fighting a former champion.
...
Michelle Waterson started doing Karate at the age of ten and is a black belt and she also learned many other martial arts and if someone who does not have any martial artist background these fighters could kill them

There is a great difference between being a black belt in karate, taekwondo, jujutsu etc. and being able to effectively destroy someone in a combat situation.

Even in Men's olympics, maybe 2-3 people / weight class from each combat sport exhibit killer instinct and real fighting spirit that would translate to real life situations, and the rest are just good-natured sportsmen, nothing wrong with that, just making the point that there are categorical differences and it's even more pronounced in female fighting, which is still brand new...

Yeah... she won, and she was a better fighter, but Watersom showed a big heart.
I did play for surprise win for Michelle Waterson, and she had the neck of Joanna in one situation, but could not finish her :/
Michelle Waterson jumped on the back of Joanna Jedrzejczyk a couple of times and that is the only thing she could do in the entire fight, Joanna Jedrzejczyk  was lighting her legs from the start and Waterson was not able to counter anything in the entire fight and the pace at which the fight was done was incredible.

Waterson doesn't even look like she has a fighter's physique. She is muscular, but not in the graceful or balanced way that you would expect someone with a lot of fighting instinct & experience to develop.

^  Rofl.

Anyway good result for JJ.  I think she's going after the belt judging from her post fight interview with Bisping.  I hope it happens..  I wanna see how vintage JJ matches up vs the Chinese girl since nobody at the women's SW top 5 wants to fight for the belt atm except JJ.

Edit:  Here are the results.

Exactly, I don't know if he has a plan though, it looks like he fall for the trap as Swanson just continue to hit him specially in round one. He has been hit hard in the stomach but there are moments that he put his arms down, which means he is really hurt.

@notblox1. Agreed! However, Kron the sadomasochist can take the punisment hehehe. Also, he must learn how to use level changes and wrestling single or double leg takedowns together with his jiujitsu. Walking to his opponent whole striking will not always work.
But I'm not sure why he continue to plod down and never try to attempt a solid take down. Walking on Swanson is the one of the worst thing he did in his entire career. And I don't understand how his corner didn't tell him to adjust.
