But coming to think about it, how does this whole transition happen from being anti gambler to a gambling guru Roll Eyes is it really the finances that draw people to gambling or maybe we just like the fast money  Tongue
Both.

People that from being a hater into a gambler and actually doing it that are going against their words have found something helpful to them.

So, if it happened for the first time. The first thing that clicks to their minds are about the finances and at the same time the latter. Having to combine both of them that becomes into gambling makes their thoughts equal and removes the hater part.
In countries with low salaries, yes I agree, it's both.
The lack of money to budget for the whole month according to the salary could also push an individual to gamble. It's a wrong practice but because they are fed up with what is happening to them, they will try to take the risk and double their salary. That could be one of the reasons why a person will suddenly be a gambler from a hater of it. Thinking from my past, I am not a gambler too but because I was exposed to different gambling platforms, I became one although not to the extent that I will hurt my budget just to gamble more.

However, it is a sad story to see people who cast away gamblers thinking they are irresponsible, and then fund themselves on this same web doing the same thing. It reminds me of how vulnerable humans can be, and that anyone can change habits when a condition falls on them.
in my honest opinion and from observation, those kind of people are most times the worse gamblers. It's easy to regulate the extent you follow up in your gambling habit when you didn't come into the system at the point when you're financially down. You could easily speak up to people about your gambling about if you're just the regular guy that wasn't attacking gamblers as though they are the worse set of human being. When you've been on the other side of having a different view about gamblers and then find yourself in the system and it even gets to a point where you've become addicted and needs someone to talk to, because you wouldn't want an external person to know about your involvement in gambling, it's most likely that you're going to get addicted to gambling and might not have what it takes to come out if it.

Sometimes it's not even about gambling. most of the things we're quick to judge others about end up being the thing we find ourselves actively getting involved in and if we're not careful with the way we follow up with it, it becomes a source that can potentially drain us down.

At most times in life, we find ourselves indulging in things we talk against, regarding to gambling if not for certain misconducts people sees from those that has been over taken by gambling addiction without considering those that are in to it without such attributes, but however everyone has the freedom of speech. One should be very mindful of how he or she judge others else you will be found doing worst than the person you were advising or talk against. Some people only see the negative aspect of something and forgot the positive aspect and that is humans difference .
What is the need of judging people when we could always find ourselves in such shit that is making us to criticize other people. Gambling has been seen by some people are a bad activity that is not worth doing or participating in because of people that have made it look like it's all a bad activities. We can make money in gambling and also lose it if we are not conscious enough of what we are doing and the kind of results we intend to get. There are people that have made gambling worse in the face of other people because of the ways they have misuse there gambling privelidge in a way that makes it look bad.

At first some judge gamblers often and later they become gambling addicts. I found it very serious to be curious and know what may have been their reason for the sudden change of mind. I know that there are difficult times to make money and maintain money, which is a world problem. I have had some thoughts on it and this is what I think may have been the reason.

1. In the beginning they may have been doing well financially and see no reason to gamble, maybe life later on throws them a financial curveball, or perhaps responsibility compels them to look for quick money through gambling. If not attempting gambling was an ethic for them they should have stuck to another alternative why did they choose this one?

2. On second thought. I feel it is the influence and conviction of people around them who are into gambling that made them go into gambling at the end of the day.

However, it is a sad story to see people who cast away gamblers thinking they are irresponsible, and then fund themselves on this same web doing the same thing. It reminds me of how vulnerable humans can be, and that anyone can change habits when a condition falls on them.

That's the proof that we shouldn't judge somebody's shortcomings, because one day you don't know you also did same thing. Gambling has different thoughts for other people, so it's important to respect what someone has doing to their lives no matter it is the reason. Just like the relatives I've know for so long they'll gamble just for fun, yet being addicted for so many years of but somehow managed to escape from this habit as he matured through several circumstances. You won't realize that mistakes when you don't feel being exhausted.

I always tell people not to judge what they don't understand or can't relate to, this was my experience, I had no reason to gamble
And always judged those who engage in it, until I started going into it gradually and got consumed by greed
A gambler loses more money because he's trying to get back what he lost, this is where the situation might get really bad
I didn't know why someone could stake a huge amount of money and keep on staking till everything is completely gone
Till I started doing it, we all have our stories to tell
Don't lose yourself in the process, seek help if you can or talk to those who also gamble and find a way out of the addiction together

You have some valid point here, people actually judge according to the room or display that's being shown to them and if you ask me, the rate of people that gamble responsibly and those that don't we can't actually match the two of them because the difference is much on the part of irresponsible gambler and I believe this is what has given much room for people to actually class gambling as something bad.

Well, in comparison, I don't really know if there are more addicted gamblers than responsible gamblers; there's no valid data I've got to know about that, but I guess that we have more responsible gamblers than addicted gamblers, just that the reckless or addicted gamblers are really blowing things out of proportion, and that's why every bad action they take is quite notable. There are some addicts who will sell their house and leave their kids at home to go gamble; others will spend other people's money on gambling, and when they lose, they can commit suicide. There is a lot of uncalled-for attitude exhibited by gambling addicts.

In certain cases, change of environment could be attributed to the sudden character switch of people who never liked gambling to become players. New sets of friends easily influence people towards taking an action they once condemned. And openly blaming people could be a step to the right or wrong direction. We don't know what would be of us tomorrow. Advise is like a piece of salt, it's not given, unless when asked. This teaches us all to mind our business, trying to force a player to quit gambling can lead to devastating consequences, when the adviser eventually become a roller. The players he once condemned, probably, would cajole him and make fun out of him.

There's a saying that change is a constant phenomenon; oftentimes, things don't remain the same forever; there are always minor or great changes that will definitely take place, and that is what most people don't really understand. Sometimes, someone can really criticize a person's actions or lifestyle, but at last, the criticizer ends up becoming like the person they criticized. It usually happens, like in most cases and with some people.

Those who find themselves judging gamblers don't really understand what gambling is; it was when they started gambling that they understood it better. Most people will definitely judge blindly.

Change is constant you said is very correct, at most times we tend to judge to others based on our conceptions at some point and later we find ourselves doing the opposite, I most say sometimes it might be as a result of not having a fundamental knowledge of what we actually detest, gambling must say is not bad if only one can view it from the point of a fun play or entertainment and not as means of making money, yeah there are those who abuse gambling given so much room for other to pass judgement and negative information about gambling.

We criticize it as a bad habit, but some turn to it when things go wrong. Crazy, huh? Life is contradictory, man. Always gambling. We bet against the universe and ourselves with every decision. Some days you win, some lose. This is about accepting unpredictability, not being smart or dumb

Gambling may be used by depressed persons. This is a human move, though not necessarily smart. Hope and regaining control. Don't judge. Instead, understand

Instead than trying to prohibit gambling, we might assist people gamble wisely. We provide resources, expertise, and assistance. We talk about it, not shame it. Life is a gamble, and we're all in it

Your first paragraph gave me a flash back of Prison Break, the famous prison warder that gave Schofield hard time in prison but when the system turn against him, he turn out to him for help and it he was eventually save. This is similar to gambling, they see you as irresponsible person but meanwhile you are doing it because you want to just gamble, you are not gambling because you have a big problem but as soon as they get problem, that's the first thing they think about.

I still remember knowing a friend that used his master school fees to gamble, he doesn't like it when people gamble and he was not experienced but unluckily he did it and he lost all the money and wanted to commit suicide. He drank concentrated insecticide but was rush to the hospital immediately and was okay after then. Long story short, he didn't bother about masters again because of thag mistake and now happily married with two kids. Grin

Yeah, gambling is not bad; the fact is just that some people abhor it due to how some gamblers have allowed themselves to become addicted, and therefore showing some irresponsible behavior doesn't make it bad. Those who got addicted to gambling were not forced; they willingly became addicted. If some gamblers are exhibiting bad gambling habits, it's not enough reason to judge all gamblers.

However, it is a sad story to see people who cast away gamblers thinking they are irresponsible, and then fund themselves on this same web doing the same thing. It reminds me of how vulnerable humans can be, and that anyone can change habits when a condition falls on them.

You can see gambling gives entertainment and profit if you win but of course, not all the time players win the game most of the time they lose and these are the negative things that people see already only a few portions of the gamblers win and use their asset to become richer and wealth so they can sustain their gambling activities but to those who haven't capable to sustain their needs and chooses to play gambling and hoping they will hit a good jackpot what society often saw so we can't blame them because it's a reflection in reality. If someone you know would like to change their life due to too much gambling addiction better to help them because they want but they don't know where to start but to change other people stop gambling but even themselves don't want it its quite hard to deal with this kind of situation.
Gambling's fun. You have great chances to win large. Mostly, though, people lose. Its not just luck, folks. It is psychology. The excitement of the pursuit, the hope of striking it rich, are what drive us. But that hope? Its often misplaced. Some people do win. They're intelligent. They control their risk; they understand the probability. Perhaps they also have a small additional amount to play with. For other people, though, its desperation. That is a means of escape. Thats the danger zone, folks.

We should do what? We can appreciate it. We hear. We learn what motivates these folks to bet. It goes beyond just money here. It is about closing a void. We really should present them something better. An interest, a passion, a goal. And relationships? Their are everything. While a toxic support system might pull you down, a strong one will help you to soar. Communities that care have to be created. These people need to be shown they are not alone. We must be able to provide them actual support.

One of the possible things to happen into a certain individual is on the moment that they would be making out some judgement into other people's dealing or whatever things that they are getting involved with on which it comes to a time that they will really be making out some conclusions about being bad or something laughable. This is why on the moment that they are making up some decisions on trying it out and ended up on getting hooked then they would really be just swallow on what they had said earlier.

This is why it's never been good that you would be making up conclusions on what other people been doing because you can't be sure that you won't really be that trying it out one day and ending up on the same scenario or condition on what you are seeing.

There's this saying in my place: "When you keep judging people, what they are going through that is making you judge them will definitely come to you." In many cases, it has always worked, and people who judged got a double dose of their criticism.

Some people are doing so because of the misunderstanding or misinformation they got about gambling, so they may believe that whoever is gambling is a bad person who cannot use their money for better things.

That's right, that makes sense, meaning there are quite a lot of factors that could be the cause of why someone who initially condemns gambling ends up using gambling as an alternative to overcome other problems they experience in their life, as you have shown, whether it's when they experience life problems that make them feel depressed or whatever, it is very likely to lead someone to something that initially looks very bad but in the end becomes a choice.

You have explained one of the reasons well above, friend, and if we go back to talking about gambling where the object of winning is money, then it is also very possible that in the end someone will try to use it as an alternative to overcome the financial problems they experience in their life. and that is something that is very likely to happen when, of course, when someone is being controlled by pressure, it is difficult for them to really think clearly, meaning anything can happen or be made an option.
We criticize it as a bad habit, but some turn to it when things go wrong. Crazy, huh? Life is contradictory, man. Always gambling. We bet against the universe and ourselves with every decision. Some days you win, some lose. This is about accepting unpredictability, not being smart or dumb

Yes, you could say it like that, experiencing a bad situation and then using bad things as a solution, of course that's crazy, friend. But that doesn't mean it can't be used as an option if someone is feeling depressed, because usually the rational mindset will move away from oneself when someone is under pressure, and that's why there are always people who do crazy things in any case.

I understand that yes, gambling can be used as a solution to overcome boredom when we have a lot of free time without activities, but that doesn't mean to solve problems related to money, such as paying off debts for example, because after all gambling is not a place to earn money because of the risks. which is too dangerous. And also making gambling an alternative to overcome boredom, such as looking for entertainment, does not mean doing it blindly, meaning that control and limits must always be applied.

Yes, I agree with that, instead of criticizing or condemning gambling by putting a bad stigma on people who are involved in gambling, we should help direct them to turn to the straight path, or to a better approach so that they can gamble wisely and always Using a rational mindset as a basis for all considerations before making a decision, this is better.

Let love lead
At first some judge gamblers often and later they become gambling addicts. I found it very serious to be curious and know what may have been their reason for the sudden change of mind.
I have had this experience first hand when I was in the University. Had a room mate who detested gambling. I had a winning of almost $600 plus, gave him a $20 tip and that was how he got involved.

Long story cut short, he even started gambling more than me, employed many strategies to grab wins, we were addicted at the same time, lost and gained lots of funds together.
Bad thing, when I resolved to leave addiction and was working on it seriously, he couldn't help himself and was addicted for longer time than me. He finally stopped, but couldn't stop blaming me for recruiting him into gambling.

Some people who hate gambling have not been opportune to engage in gambling activities or do not understand it, so they join the rest tho criticize it.
Give them an opportunity to experience it and they'll even gamble more than you.

People are always too quick to judge others when they have not being in the shoe of the people that they are judging. Never you laugh at anybody conditions because you do not know where you are going to be tomorrow or in what position you are going to be and you will have to do the same things you were criticizing. Many people criticize gambling but they end up gambling as they have no other hope when they encounter the problems they thought they will never have. At times I think it is fate or karma, do not judge people gambling because they can be gambling for fun as they have no joy in their minds or they do not have any other hope of making money and if they can avoid addiction, they will not have any problem gambling.

Well, I can't help but agree with you about how people end up getting into situations they made fun of when someone else was there, and they only realize it and understand their mistake once they get into someone else's shoes. It's easy to mock someone or make fun of them if they are having an issue, even if it's about gambling or anything, you should try to understand what they are going through instead of having a negative and offensive point of view.

I have seen a lot of people being in good positions in their lives, having everything they could ask for, but they would mock others for having nothing and this made them reach a point in their lives where they had nothing left of what they had, and then they realized how wrong they were for making fun of others for being poor and having nothing when they had everything.

So it's all about being mature enough to realize and understand that everything in this world is temporary, what you have today you might not have it tomorrow, so you shouldn't say or think bad for others just because of it.

But coming to think about it, how does this whole transition happen from being anti gambler to a gambling guru Roll Eyes is it really the finances that draw people to gambling or maybe we just like the fast money  Tongue

Certain life circumstances can lead a person to gamble and even get hooked to it.  Like when one has too many problems and wants to forget about the stress that problem gives.  Getting drunk to forget about their problems and finding gambling to be of help in spending idle time forgetting about life's pressures while being drunk.  Another thing is social circumstances where one finds the person of his interest is into gambling and wants to impress to win her attention. This supports the fact that life can have an unexpected turn of events like the scenario @OP stated.
