I've never used an xapo wallet to keep my bitcoin, now I'm looking for a web wallet for a low fees but with good security and safety. Whether xapo can be the exact option for the recommended web wallet?
I use it and it's OK. If you don't use faucets, you won't have problem with the fees (they charge fees if you transfer outside of Xapo, but if you transfer between two Xapo wallets, it's free (or ift was free last time I have tried)) You can apply for a debit card too, linked directly to your web wallet and you can spend your coins directy with that VISA card. It's pretty straightforward, I like it. Just be sure you don't need support, because it really takes time until they manage to reply to your question, they need to manage that part somehow better, but despite that they're a good wallet provider.
Xapo is good but they are now for free if you know their adjustment for the fees and you are an old time user of it, for sure you will be disappointed. But since you are a starter it's possible that you will love to use xapo, it's safe and recommended by many people but be careful with incoming transactions, don't try to receive smaller amount, lower than 0.0005 for your safety.
Thank you for your input guys , the first time xapo was launched I was able to open an account there, but after how many days later I want to login then I forget the password and after that incident I never use it again. After hearing a pretty good suggestion from you guys I think now I will use xapo to keep my bitcoin in web wallet. thanks once again Smiley

There seem to have a new rates for the Outgoing Transaction Fees.  https://in.xapo.com/fees/
XAPO sent an email to the users about it. Well, I find it good enough, they will give users the ability to select a whether standard or high priority fee users would like to pay.

Hi,

We have an important announcement about your Xapo account that will affect you - so please read!

In the next couple of days, all Xapo users will begin to pay the miners fee themselves in order to send transactions out of Xapo.

No portion of this fee goes to Xapo, it is simply the fee that needs to be paid to miners in order for an outgoing transaction to be processed via the bitcoin network! This fee will be dynamically calculated based on the current network conditions and will be paid by you at the time of the transaction.

Due to the increase in transaction volume of the bitcoin network, we'd like to give our users some control over their transactions. That being said, Xapo will give you the ability to select which type of fee you'd like to pay - a standard or high priority fee - thus allowing you to choose how quickly you'd like for your transaction to be processed!

Please keep in mind that this will apply to outgoing transactions that touch the blockchain, but all Xapo to Xapo payments will still be free of charge!

Thanks for your understanding,
The Xapo Team

P.S. this is a no-reply email, but if need be, you can contact us!

It's understandable and acceptable, more or less. I just haven't got any information if this change has any effect on the payments paid with XAPO's debit card, which is connected directly to the web wallet, so I can say that every payment initiate a new transaction on the blockchain. Or, it's possible that XAPO somehow aggregate card transactions and sends out bitcoin in blocks or I don't know. Maybe it worths a question to the support (if they answer...). But I don't know how I would select the preferred fee during card payment... so it seems that it won't effect card payments, or they will use standard fees, without choice.
yes it is understandable.
Anyway, since XAPO's debit card wasn't mentioned, I think it is not affected with the news. Best thing to do is contact the support and confirm about it (if ever you or anyone else want an assurance about this).

I don't care about the ATM withdrawal and the other fees that your partners (including VISA) forces you to collect because it applies for all debit and credit card issued by them, I just want to be able to see it transparently.
I know that IT development needs time and costs much but it can prevent you from this kind of problems caused by misunderstanding and by lack of proper information in the future.

I don't know if this new policy is really a good deal for Xapo, because this wallet had been the preferred one for most newcomers trying to gather their first bitcoins through faucets, the first option for most of them. Catching these newcomers had been a good strategy because each of them use to gradually increase their transactions to the extent that they learn how to improve their earnings in this bitcoin economy. But nowadays, with this new policy disappears this motivation to choose Xapo as the first wallet as used to occur in new bitcoiners.

Bitcoin Transaction Fees

Bitcoin transactions from your Xapo account to other Xapo accounts are not subject to processing fees.

Outgoing bitcoin transactions from your Xapo account to a bitcoin address outside of Xapo will be charged a fee of BTC 0.00025213.

--snip--

I will not leave the xapo wallet, I think a nominal transaction 0.00037819 is not huge, so it is natural that if less than they will make cost. The most important thing is there is no fee for transfer and I think the xapo is secure and fast.

Uhh... Did you read the fees announcement properly? Because actually, there are fees for transfer.
The outgoing transfer is understandable as almost every wallet require this, but I don't really understand why they require us to pay for incoming transfer too. I don't think many wallet provider had this policy.
We have already discussed it some posts above in Feb.2017 that the fees are only applies for incoming transfers when you receive a really little amount (roughly $0.3) in a transaction (usually from a faucet)
2 things:
- they want XAPO users to use the faucets which has XAPO wallet, because if you transfer between two XAPO accounts, there's no applied fee at all
- they want to force faucet providers to have a wallet at XAPO to be able to transfer to XAPO users internally, because a lot of people have XAPO wallets and there's a demand from them to receive their little amount without fees

Liable for what i say, not for what you understand
anyone having issues with xapo? It doesnt show any of my wallets nor my balances.
Thanks!

EDIT: Got an answer from their support:

Thanks for reaching out! Apologies that this has occurred - Xapo uses Amazon's servers to host our site, and currently there is an outage that is affecting many websites. You can keep track of the outage here. Don't worry, your funds are safe (you don't have a 0 balance, it is simply that the servers cannot properly communicate at the moment to show you your correct balance!) and Amazon is working hard to fix this issue. Since many other websites depend on Amazon servers, I'm sure it will be up and running very quickly, so thank you for your patience until then!

I think they want faucet users to go somewhere else with the new FEE structure
I'm a bit surprised about this because XAPO was one of the wallets used to integrate into faucets. Now this is over, it seems.
No, it's not over. Many faucets will remain to use Xapo, because they sends satoshi from their Xapo account to user Xapo account. There are no initial transaction, transfers from Xapo to Xapo will remain free. Only faucets which use initial transactions will be charged.
In this case, this can be a strategic step from XAPO, they want to have a bigger market share among faucet operators and also among faucet users.
For a long time, many faucets have been using Xapo as their wallets because many use it and it is a very user friendly for new people who just knew about bitcoin, and there are many faucets out there who send you the satoshis directly to your wallet if it is an Xapo wallet, so probably those will be the best.

The users which using Xapo to Xapo they no need to go any where as they have no problem with this rule only users which are using other wallets they need to switch because if they receive less payment then they have to  very high fees
