I'm interested in Club' Brugges' journey in the Champions League this time, because they passed the group phase where there were 2 clubs that were more superior than them, Atletico Madrid and Leverkusen, but beyond my prediction it was Club Brugge who could advance to the round of 16. .
In the round of 16 their opponent will be Benfica who won the group, this is a game that will not be easy for both clubs. To be honest, I'm a little blind to the strength of Club Brugge and also Benfica. So who do you think will advance to the quarter-finals from these two teams?

Perhaps this is not such a big achievement, since Bayern were really in very bad shape, and Atletico are also going through hard times. I don't want to underestimate the achievements of Brugge in the least, they really had a great group stage, but Benfica will be an unbeatable opponent for them. These are clubs of different levels, it will be especially difficult for Brugge to play at Estadio da Luz, but even the first match away, Benfica is likely to win too.
Throughout this period we have seen that all the teams have been in moments of crisis, others have not yet come out of it, others are beginning to fall, we see teams that have emerged little by little, but that nevertheless have not He reached a long way to reach the UCL and they went to the Europa League, this is characteristic of football, however we always expect the highest level and the best of the teams, sometimes the players also have a lot of accumulated fatigue and sometimes they do not know They see these things, so sometimes we also have to think about the possible causes why some teams don't win like before. I really expect a lot from Real Madrid, and now the upcoming games will be very good, and exciting, both Madrid and City are the ones that are requiring the most attention from many fans.

There is an interesting situation like this:

- Dortmund are favoured by bookmakers for the first leg - 2.52 against 2.64. It is a small gap but still.  Smiley
- Meanwhile Chelsea are favoured by them again for reaching the next stage - 1.57 against 2.25.

This is pushing me to think like Dortmund will resist in the first leg but we might be likely to see a draw and see both teams scoring. But in Stamford Bridge Chelsea can finish the deal by a decent win. I still don't expect a big score gap there also considering Chelsea's current condition. I just expect them to eliminate Dortmund anyway especially when we think of what they did to Milan in the group stage. I see Dortmund and Milan being at similar levels in the Champions League recently.
The reunion of the former will be a headline for the two clubs, I also really hope that Chelsea can beat dourmount and can secure a ticket to the last 8 of the Champions league, the two teams have never met in any league, it was reported in Chelsea's director of football operations David Bernard said he would asking for help from his colleagues at Manchester city because Chelsea is blind to dourmount power.

Well, in my personal opinion, I think Chelsea will be able to beat Dortmund, it's not that Dortmund is bad, or that it's bad, but I feel that Chelsea have made big changes and they are all very significant that I think they can totally make a difference, For me they will be able to win, they also have Joao Féliz in their ranks, which is a very good reference, I hope that this time he does nothing to get a red tardejat, although I think the referee exceeded himself, however the emotion of the moment he made the player take his card, I think the player should have learned his lesson by now.

Graham Potter issues Chelsea transfer update and explains Marc Cucurella absence

Quote
The 24-year-old has struggled since moving to Stamford Bridge from Brighton over the summer and a reunion with Potter hasn’t lifted his form. In recent weeks, Cucurella has lost his place to 18-year-old Lewis Hall, who is playing out of position at left-back.

The bookmarkers don't always get their prediction right and don't forget that something they might be doing this kind of rating on purpose to attract betters. They on purpose give out bad rating to the favorite team, for instance, the game between Liverpool and Real Madrid is having Liverpool as the favorite when we all know, Real Madrid are by far superior.
Agree with you about not all sports bookmarkers not always right in their predicting about which team will qualify to next round or favorite become the winner in UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season. I remember last season with Real Madrid is weakness team and not favorite by all sportsbook after bigger odds given when Real Madrid match against from PSG, Chelsea, Manchester City until final faced with Liverpool.

I don't care about sportsbook if not favorite Real Madrid to win against Liverpool on 16 round but I am optimistic with Madrid will get chance qualify to next round.

The way I see how the match is going to play at, I think Chelsea will likely win at Dortmund home while Dortmund will try to get a draw at least but that won't be possible. Chelsea has the highest chance of winning at the Stanford bridge because they are going to be playing in front of their fans and they won't want to disappoint them. People thinking Chelsea is going to be terrible has to realized that this isn't the premier League, this is the Champions League so things might likely play at differently.

Manchester City vs Leipzig, one of the matches that will be in the 16th round of the Champions League. On paper, Manchester City will definitely be superior to their opponent with their extraordinary performances in the last few seasons. In fact, they are a favorite team to become champions, it's just that their steps always stop even though they are predicted to become champions. Their mentality is one of the factors why they always fail in the Champions League, this season they will try again.

I don't think it's a matter of mentality. however, the unlucky factor. Manchester City always tries to achieve the club's dream for the first time. Unfortunately, until now Manchester City has not been able to achieve the Champions League trophy. this season is no exception, The Citizen is again a strong challenger to win the Champions League trophy. Pep Guardiola has a project with his Haaland, to realize the club's dream of winning a trophy this season.

In the round of 16 match later, RB Leipzig is not a strong challenger to overthrow City, even though Leipzig has the advantage of playing as the home team in the first leg. at least, on paper The Citizens are more favored than their opponent. I'm sure Pep Guardiola's squad will overthrow Leipzig either at home or away.

Domestic league performance mostly have no impact on UEFA League matches because we have a history of different results many times teams having poor run in domestic league done good work in these competitions
Sometimes that is true, but sometimes it isn't. Conversely, good performance in the domestic league is also not always good when these teams are playing in the Champions League.

Take Barcelona for example, they are good in La Liga, whereas in the Champions League they are bad. Sevilla are bad in La Liga while they are also bad in the Champions League. Inter previously weren't very good in Serie A, while they were good in the Champions League. Things like this are indeed not benchmark that will determine the journey of this team in the Champions League, so those are only few influential factors.

For the DOrtmund vs Chelsea match, both of them have their own chance to qualify, but it only depends on how capable they are of maximizing the opportunities that exist. What is clear is that one of them must fail and one of them will qualify for the quarter-finals. The same is true of PSG vs Bayern Munich and Real Madrid vs Liverpool and all the other participants in the round of 16.
What you said is true, and the clubs you mentioned really have differences in the Champions League and the domestic league. This may be due to different opponents and also their different readiness in the domestic league and champions league. The pressure that exists will also cause a gap in their game which will later affect their performance in the game.
Several big matches will be presented in the middle of February, I want to see what kind of surprises will be shown in the Champions League this season. Several dark horse clubs will also be interesting to observe, how their journey in the Champions League will be.

Dortmund have a bad season too and they will meet Chelsea, another club that is in crisis too. Dortmund have less experience in Champions League than Chelsea and they have less quality players than Chelsea. Chelsea if playing at their full capacity, will win Dortmund but if Chelsea can not play well, they will face risk of losing against Dortmund.
in the first leg if Dortmund can get a positive result with a win. it will be easy enough for them to survive in the second leg even though in terms of quality Chelsea should be superior.
but if in the first leg, Dortmund has left behind or even with a draw. it will be bad for Dortmund to play in the second leg.
although both teams are currently also in a less good trend. but Chelsea seems to be able to show the quality of their best game later.
I can't say whether Chelsea can show their best game in this match or not, because as we know their performance in the Premier League cannot be expected. But I can't rule out the possibility, maybe Chelsea will show something different, so will Borussia Dortmund. Maybe in the end they will beat each other at home, in the first leg and second leg. Their current odds I think have the same odds.
Between Chelsea and Dortmund, Chelsea's performance is much better. Chelsea is at a fairly good level in the league. On the other hand, Dortmund need a good attacking player now, only then the team will be able to perform well.

The performance of both teams in their individual leagues has nothing to do with the champions league.
We are confronted with two different teams with varying play patterns, psyche and determination.
Chelsea FC might be weaker but when it comes to the champions league with hopes of etching further, Dortmund shouldn't write them off.
After 90mins, the winner will be decided, not by performance but by goal average.
But the performance of the two teams in their respective leagues will be a reference for how likely they will play in the Champions League. We will definitely always see how their last performance is, and that is in their respective leagues. As far as I can see, there is always a difference between their performances in the league and in the Champions League, but it also depends on how they respond to matches in the Champions League. Motivated, it has to do its best here.
Domestic league performance mostly have no impact on UEFA League matches because we have a history of different results many times teams having poor run in domestic league done good work in these competitions same happening with Chelsea and Liverpool because these both are having worst run in English Premier League, but their performance in Champions League is amazing so but Dortmund is having troubles in group matches as well which can create problems against Chelsea in knock out match here most chances Chelsea can do much better and qualify for the quarterfinals as well.

Even things still some unclear as tomorrow we will have first match of Dortmund, and they can bring better strategy and performance after very long break and Chelsea can face tough challenge but most chances they could be better to go.

Chelsea in the domestic league has looked less consistent and is also not doing well, while Dortmund cannot be judged badly because the matches in the Bundesliga haven't started after the break even though it will work soon for today but not with the Dortmund team. And it could be that these two teams will look more balanced when they meet in the Champions League this season because usually the motivation for each team when competing in the Champions League is far greater than in their respective domestic leagues.
there are several other big clubs when in the domestic league they experience deficiencies whereas when they play in the champions league they are much better even different from the current game in the domestic league, Chelsea has been bad lately but we can't be sure whether they will play badly in the league champions, I don't think so either. I'm sure Chelsea will give a different game when they face Dortmund later

Chelsea and dortmund have been facing their own problems. that's very hard to determine which team that will be winning the game in the upcoming match between chelsea against dortmund. Chelsea has so many players come to the club but it has not yet found the best compositions to win against another team in EPL easily while the same thing was almost happening with dortmund. Dortmund is still looking for a replacement for the players that may be going out from the club as soon as possible. This is the hardest match to pick. I will still pick chelsea over dortmund although both were almost equal.
Indeed if we compared the latest performance at their own domestic league i think Dortmund has slightly better than Chelsea and as you can see Chelsea under Potter still no big improvement even they were always be struggle to gets the winning results for every matches but this january Potter has attempts to solved team conditions with buy some of players so lets see those players can makes Chelsea performing better or not
And because Chelsea and Dortmund were never met before so this match will be so unpredictable but so far Chelsea were performing well on group stage that they only conceded 4 goals from total 6 matches and if Potter can able to resumes this trend i think Chelsea probably have a chance qualified to quarterfinal but first leg match will be held at Dortmund home ground so maybe Dortmund will utilized this match to beat Chelsea

A small difference means that the two teams have the same strength and opportunity to win, lose or draw, it will only be very detrimental for the team hosting the first leg if they only draw or win with a narrow score because Chelsea can turn things around later at Stamford Bridge but a little doubtful seeing how they are at the moment, but the Dortmund vs Chelsea match will be a very exciting match because neither team is stronger.
Between the two, whoever will qualify from the round of 16 has the opportunity to be eliminated in the next round, both will find it difficult to compete with other stronger teams

The performance of both teams in the domestic league may be a factor in the analysis before betting something on the match, but usually the Champions League is very different. Chelsea and Dortmund both have chances to win and qualify for the quarter-finals regardless of whether they will take advantage of their home match or not.
Their performance in the domestic league is not much different. Both are still difficult to penetrate the best position in the standings. Perhaps their difference lies in the competitiveness of their respective leagues, namely the English Premier League and the Bundesliga.
The UEFA Champion League clearly has a different atmosphere from the domestic league. Chelsea who are currently not in the best form could have stepped into the quarter-finals beating Dortmund at home and away.

I would prefer to see Chelsea to the quarter-finals than Dortmund, but who knows. Dortmund are also a good team to get there or maybe to the semi-finals, but I don't think either of them will get to the final this season.
I don't want to predict who will step into the quarterfinals between the two teams because they still have time to fix their shortcomings.

True , the similar situation happened back in 2012 where chelsea struggling at the domestic league just like what they experienced right now but guess what ... they won it in the end surprising everyone who underestimating chelsea that time due how bad they are in premier league.

Nobody deserve an underestimate indeed in champions league. It's a huge stage with many possibilities.

If u say this about Liverpool what then will you say about Chelsea who is in worst form than Liverpool? As far as Europe competition is consent I don't look little at any EPL team who makes it up to the round of 16.
Liverpool like you say has a bad result in EPL competitions but as far as the champions league, Klopp and his boys will fight with their last blood. Same as Chelsea

Premier league clubs has always been dominate in champions league football, why they aren't leading the table in the amount of individual club trophy won is just because Real Madrid has been very dominate, Barcelona as well. When we mention teams in each of the league that are representing very well in the competition, the Premier league has to have the highest number so nobody should think that'll be stopping anytime soon. It doesn't matter how poorly we're playing in the premier league, when it comes to the champion league, we'll turn up.

Chelsea has some boost coming their way as there are report of Reece James, Chilwel all training with the first team including our recent acquisition Mudryk. These players should strength the lineup of Chelsea to be able to get a win against Dortmund. Felix's presence will also be a key factor as I believe he must have served his three match ban before that game in February. We just hope everything stays positive at the club and we don't get further injure crisis or suspension as that'll destabilize the players.
The comparison between English teams and Spanish teams in the Champions league has been one sided in the past years so it is really good an encouraging to see that English teams are now matching the strength and excellence of the Spanish teams in the Champions league. Definitely the return of injured players will be a boost for the team, I also read today that Kante is also now training with the first team.
