In group B of this Champions League, we have Sevilla and Arsenal in the same group, Sevilla is the team that won the European League in last season and they are known for their good performance in that tournament while this time Sevilla is going to play in Chmapnios league where they have to play against stronger teams, in the other hand these two teams Arsenal and Sevilla played two times against each other in 2007-2008 and each team on for once.

If I remember correctly, aren`t Sevilla in financial trouble? I remember, if I`m not mistaken, that he won the cup but soon after he made a lot of sales to cover his debts, clearly I don`t remember very well but if it`s true, will they make it through the group stage?

We`ll see
The fact is that last season Sevilla was Europa League Champion, Arsenal were EPL runners up, PSV were also Eredivisie runners up and Lens were Ligue 1 runners up. Many say group B is occupied by balanced clubs, it's true when you look at the facts. With group F is the group of Hell or the most difficult, only Newcastle are less seeded.

But so far, if you look at the standings, it can be said that Sevilla is the club whose performance has decreased and is followed by Lens. Sevilla have not been able to secure a point in three matches in La Liga. Meanwhile, Lens pocketed one point in three games, this is lucky for Arsenal and PSV I think.
Without trying to underrate any club in the group of this season's UEFA Champions League competition, I think Arsenal are the favorites to win that group. Sevilla who had an impressive European outing last season by winning the UEFA Europa League competition has been very poor this season and are yet to get a league point in their the three matches they've played this season.
Lens and PSV also had an incredible campaign last season which made them qualify for the European Cup this season but judging from Arsenal's performances since last season, they stand a better chance ahead of the other three teams to qualify to the knockout stages from the group
Yes, I also think that Arsenal are the biggest favourites in this group. Sevilla was great in Europa League, it is like their personal league, but things are different in CL. It will be very unlikely that we can see a similar performance from them in the CL. This is rather a very enjoyable group IMO. PSV is always PSV. They haven't changed their strong team quality for years, even though they are a team I don't like, they should be congratulated. They eliminated Rangers in a great matchup. Rangers didn't seem to have any success in UCL, I think Europa League was better. For the first time I saw a goalkeeper who was not at fault for the 5 goals he conceded, and he made 5-6 saves of 100%. Congratulations to the glasgow goalkeeper. Psv's structure tells us a lot. They are great from top to bottom, maybe they don't have great achievements but they have a system, a plan, an organization, they train and sell players from their own structure.

I guess this was the biggest surprise for most of us knowing how rich Newcastle United potentially is. But I couldn't find a reasonable answer why they did not really become very active on the transfer market. Is there any specific reason to that or was is just consent among the club bosses?

I think it obviously didn't pay out so far and some big names on their team would have certainly helped. It is still the relatively unknown squad that everybody was surprised about last season, but some enforcements would have been so important. Now they have the perfect failure for the start of the season.

It's very easy to give full financial advise when you don't understand the the profit and loss of the system, because they have full bag of money doesn't mean they will spend it during the transfer market period, that could lead to financial mistake just the way Chelsea is suffering today. Haven't you see amount they have spent on last season and this season and yet, performance remain stagnant, no improvement but atleast I can say that Newcastle will improved with time, this was how they started late in the domestic league but as we progress, they later spit fire in all of their matches and it was worth the patient.

Furthermore, the mistake some of these teams make is that they have too much believe in consistency, they think because a season favoured them, it will continue in that manner, they don't believe that luck is an element in achieving those success. Instead of them to hire and buy new players, they will rather remain stock with the old player. Nevertheless, if in deed thy are oily rich, January is just 5 month and before Champions League should get intense, they should get new players by then.

Please read my post again to get the tone that I used. Or actually the whole wording. You are implying that I said Newcastle should have spent half a billion dollars on new players, but that is not what I was saying.

Newcastle has made three larger investments for Tonali, Barnes and Livramento and I think that is still not quite what many expected Newcastle to do But nothing is lost yet. I guess it is also not easy for them yet to get players to sign a contract with them when these players can choose between Real Madrid and them for example. That will take some time until they firmly established themselves at the top.

Eddie Howe got 2 great opponents in the EPL opener. Man City and Liverpool, but Brighton's last game they also lost 1-3. I think since Newcastle are owned by PIF from Saudi Arabia they will be stronger. The reason is because they have a lot of abundant funds to buy new players. But I was wrong, they didn't buy many big players for this season. So if performance drops it's not surprising. But for UCL I agree with you, Howe hasn't had much experience in Europe.
Well, it crossed my mind when the transfer market opened, and I thought that Newcastle would be more ambitious in buying players, considering that their schedule in the UCL would require quality players and of course have experience as well as mentality in the UCL. If this opportunity is not utilized properly, I personally doubt that Newcastle will be able to play optimally in the UCL. Moreover, seeing a tough opponent will only make Newcastle easier to get rid of. That doesn't mean I underestimate their quality, but because the UCL competition is a different competition to the EPL, there will be many considerations that must be made in the transfer market if you don't want to be eliminated quickly.
After impressive last season many were feeling things could be impressive in this season as PIF will invest huge funds for the quality players, and they will be stable in Champions League, but we have really shocking start of this season with now their pool is also one of the toughest where they have no chance in presence of opponents like AC Milan, PSG and Dortmund even we can give them some favor against Dortmund because they are also struggling in Bundesliga, and they also can face problems in this event but still things are not easy for the Magpies.

Coach is also having not experienced to manage team in Champions League and mostly players are also needs good experience for this event with this all it's never been easy but as Eddie Howe done good in last season hopefully now he will change his strategy and have better performance in coming weeks specially in this big event.

Even if those players are fully recovered from their injuries, I believe Bayern Munich will be a difficult opponent for Manchester United in the Champions League. This is a team that always qualifies for the competition every season, and they now have a coach who recently won the Champions League trophy with another club; I believe this will boost their confidence as they face Manchester United, despite the fact that they have been praised for their performance in the Premier League. The best Manchester United can hope for is a draw in one of the two leg matches, but I'm confident Bayern Munich will win one of them, especially the one at they’ll play from Allianz Arena.
UEFA Champions League is here and this time there group stage fixtures are tough compared to other previous ones. Group A in group stage draw likely seems easy. A gambler could make simple predictions on the club's that stand 80% probabilities of qualifying for the next round. We have Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Copenhagen and Galatasaray. Only two elite clubs tends and are favorite to qualify, they're Manchester United and Bayern Munich, nothing more. Bayern Munich would definitely come out first, they have everything interms of dominance and quality players.

On top of these financial difficulties, and considering the large salary to be given to Sergio Ramos, Sevilla should definitely achieve this year's success. They should do well in UCL, they should do well in La Liga, but I don't think they've been very successful in La Liga so far. In other matches, Sevilla no longer has to tidy itself up or the team will have to grapple with the biggest financial difficulties.
Is that true? AFAIK, ramos will get minimum salary from sevilla. Ramos will not get a large salary from sevilla.

According to https://www.elfutbolero.us/news/Its-official-Sergio-Ramos-is-Sevillas-new-player-look-how-much-he-will-earn-20230903-0023.html

Ramos will get only 1.5 million for a season, much less than the 7,5 million he received from Galatasaray or 20m from Saudi's offer. Sevilla is not financially good at this moment. The club had to change its decision for him because Sevilla can hire an experienced player with low wages, which will benefit the club. Sevilla should not be selfish enough in rejecting ramos's offer last month. The club is in needed to hire a new defender as a backup once its main defenders faced injury.

Ramos will be getting very low amount of money from playing in sevilla but ramos is only willing to follow his passion to play in the la liga again.

If Ramos is going to play with a salary of 1.5 million euros like you said, it's a great deal for Sevilla. His rejection of offers from Arabia and Turkey must have been due to his desire to play in Spain. Now he seems to want to return home, too, and does not consider any economic factors. I hope he can be successful in Sevilla.

We`ll see
Sevilla are in financial trouble. The club has sold almost all of its important players to pay the debt. Winning europea league meant nothing as the prize from winning this trophy was small. It's not enough to be used paid off the debt. It's hard to believe if sevilla will make it to the group stage with the current squad. Sevilla is still having 0 points after a few games passed. I would like to see sevilla will go back to the europea league again.
It's hard to imagine sevilla will be qualified for the play off with the current squad. Sevilla is in trouble now.

Sevilla are financially in very bad shape, having won the Europa League has done nothing but reduce the debt that the club still has to repay or it will go bankrupt. Looking at the team's squad, it still has many high-profile players like Lamela, Rakitic, Suso, Lukebakio. So the poor results obtained in the first few games are certainly for other reasons, perhaps technical

On top of these financial difficulties, and considering the large salary to be given to Sergio Ramos, Sevilla should definitely achieve this year's success. I don't doubt Bayern Munich quality this season. Especially they have made changes to their weak side in the transfer market which Bayern Munich improved their front line by signing Harry kane and they also recruited Kim Min-jae to strengthen their defense and also signed a new goalkeeper in this transfer window he is Daniel peretz  .

So Bayern Munich can provide stronger competition as they did before. Indeed, in Group A only Manchester United is a strong opponent for them, but statistically Bayern Munich is able to dominate the victory when facing Manchester United.

Even though Bayern Munich is not as strong as it was two years ago, currently Manchester United is in an unstable squad condition and when compared with Bayern Munich the difference is certainly quite significant. Bayern Munich excelled with a striker who knew Manchester United weaknesses could now be exploited. So Manchester United' meeting against Bayern Munich is very interesting to look forward to. Erik Ten Hag must take precautions from now on because several of the players he has brought in have not been fully strengthened on the field. If Hojlund, Martinez, Varane and Shaw recover, perhaps the Red Devil's performance against Bayern Munich could be more promising.

Compared to many other teams, Sevilla was lucky to have a group like this because this group is not really hard for them, The only strong team is Manchester United so they should be worried about the games against this team Also Lens and PSV are not really strong however even Manchester United is not in their good situation after this summer and even after hiring players like Mason Mount they didn't improve at all.

I didn't understand at first what you mean. Sevilla is even weaker than last year and Arsenal is stronger than United, so I don't see a chance there. Lens should be able to beat for them but beating PSV Eindhoven will be a challenge. They should manage to reach the 3rd place in the group despite their poor form.

Sevilla isn't even close to their best shape and now it remains to be seen whether they can show their A-game in the Champions or League or not. They have certainly been lucky in the draw for the group stage because Lens and PSV are exactly the teams Sevilla would be destined to eliminate during the group stage and, hence, secure their ticket into the knockout stage.
Looking at their performance in domestic competitions, they even performed as bad as before. But on the other hand, in this case, I now don't want to doubt them first, especially when looking at their performance last season which was sometimes surprising and the group conditions were not too difficult because apart from Arsenal, who are the favorites, PSV and Lens have almost the same quality of players as Sevilla. .
I think for now their strategy remains the same by focusing first on the Champions League while making some different performance changes in La Liga so they get back on a better track.

But bringing up Manchester United here, let me remind everyone that Sevilla humiliated Manchester United in the last season's second leg in the Europa League. That was impressive and a shocker for Manchester United and it was a similar situation when Sevilla was having problems in La Liga. But can they repeat it like that? I have my doubts that they can always play on the edge like that. Though PSV and Lens are two opponents Sevilla was hoping for. This is crazy because if they can't improve their game anytime soon and stay at the bottom of the table, they might at the same time make it into the knockout stage of the Champions League. That would be looking weird on paper.

maybe financial problems are part of the cause of Sevilla getting a bad performance in La Liga matches and for the UCL group stage I think Sevilla will be worse and probably not qualify but if Sevilla appears in the european league there is a slight chance because of Sevilla experience in the european league already quite a lot even without a mainstay player.

Its sad to see Sevilla current condition when the title holding team remains in the European league but this summer has had a surprisingly poor performance and in the transfer market yesterday Sevilla was not very active because as we discussed at the beginning, finances were the cause of all this poor performance in Seville.
I would say Sevilla is a team to look for in any case. Yes they do not look good right now, but last season while they were terrible at the league, when push come to shove, they ended up playing very well and won the europa as well.

I agree that Arsenal and PSV looks like they will go up, but they may have some hard time against Sevilla as well. In any case Arsenal will go up, they are guaranteed in my mind, it's only between PSV and Sevilla that I am not certain about and that should be a bit different. Barcelona has a much much easier group this time around as well, last year it was Bayern and eventual finalists Inter, this season it's Porto, Shaktar and Antwrep. They could literally do 18 points if they play well enough.

I don't know how Sandro Tonali will feel when he will be in the same group as his former club, Milan, in the Champions League. Previously, we knew that Sandro Tonali's move to Newcastle was because Milan needed large financial support to be able to rebuild its squad for this season, so like it or not, Sandro Tonali agreed to the agreement to join Newcastle. Even though he did not want to leave his favorite club and even through his parting words with Milan he also said that one day he wanted to return to this childhood team.

Of course, for a player who has real Italian blood, he will definitely face difficult things in the match, but as a professional footballer he has to forget about those feelings on the field and start defending seriously and giving his best for Newcastle in the Champions League this season.

I'm sure that factor will not be a barrier for Sandro Tonali to keep playing properly, because at least there have been many other players also from time to time who play against his former team too. In fact, many of them even though they are only loan players, but they also still make goals to the previous team or the team they came from. Therefore, although Sandro Tonali loves Milan very much but still, Sandro Tonali is also not originally from the Milan academy. At least it will make Sandro Tonali still play well, and not awkward to play against Milan in the group phase later.
But I think that emotional feeling will definitely remain even if only a little from Sandro Tonali's mind. It is true that we often meet these players and most of them show respect for their former clubs. Moreover, if Sandro Tonali scores a goal against Milan, he will definitely celebrate apologizing and the Milan fans will applaud him. Sandro Tonali did not come from the Milan Academy, but since childhood he really liked Milan. Yes, we can only hope that it is like that and that feeling of awkwardness can be eliminated because after all the Champions League is Europe's biggest competition and all teams compete with each other to be the best.

When it comes to what Sevilla can do in the Champions League I'm not sure about them. Because technically they have a group that they can advance to next round from. Arsenal should be finishing Group B as the leader. Sevilla can do better than Lens. But I just can't be confident when it comes to doing the same to PSV.

Because Sevilla are still having problematic days. You know how badly they started to the season. They are in big trouble in the La Liga these days. In this condition I don't see them strong enough to beat PSV even in Spain. I think that we are quite likely to see Sevilla in the Europa League once again. It is really the place they belong to right now.

I think this is just the initial stage where PIF acquires ownership of Newcastle, Sandro Tonali is one of the best purchases I think. The price is also very expensive, AC Milan can build a new squad by releasing one player namely Tonali. It is true that Eddie Howe has no experience at all in the UCL, because throughout his career he has only coached Bournemouth and Burnley. We know that the two clubs have never entered the Champions League zone in the EPL in the last decade.

Joining Group F puts Newcastle in a difficult position, because after all Milan, PSG and Dortmound are the favourites. Newcastle could have qualified for the last 16 with any luck, if the other three clubs suffer a dip in form.
I don't think Newcastle United is not favorable team for qualifying to next round on Group F, actually all Premier League teams have tradition qualify from group stage round almost every season and I doubt with many people pessimistic with Newcastle United chance success qualify from group stage. Its not difference with first time appearance after Newcastle United absent for long time, but they have solid squad and spent much money last summer window transfer depending with other favorable teams AC Milan and Dortmund except PSG as automatically will lead top standings. Dortmund have loss their star player Jude Bellingham and last season they have poor performance in Champion League, I don't think Dortmund is favorable teams will qualify to next round.
