Man City were just lucky to win... The penalty shootout was just luck, not skill... Sevilla played not worse and sometimes even better and more dangerous, especially in the second half when they were able to make some great counterattacks... But as a result, Man City won and there is nothing to say here... They are the holders of the super cup...
I also agree that the victory that Manchester City got in the super cup was a fortune, because the victory that was won on penalties was a victory that did not have to be measured based on the strengths in the team. I was also very surprised when I saw Sevilla able to play like that against Manchester City in the Super Cup and this has shown that Sevilla is indeed a team that their opponents should not underestimate this season.

To be successful in football, it is not enough just to score goals, good team play, good defense and the right strategy are also necessary. I think Sevilla has done a great job in this regard. Looking at their ball positions, you might think that Mancesher City might have beaten their opponents by 3-4 goals, but until the end of the match, both teams had a chance to win the game.
So a very good final match has been left behind Smiley

you are right A good match strategy and team performance is more important than just the ability to score goals. The overall performance of the team is very stable if the understanding between the players is good. Even a mediocre team can perform well if the understanding between the players is good. And the Newcastle and Sevilla teams are real examples of this. They do not have a strong squad, but still these two teams are performing well.

There is no doubt that Manchester City dominated the entire match. Even then, they could not defeat the Sevilla team in 90 minutes. This is Sevilla's success. Sevilla's squad is quite weak compared to Manchester City's squad. However, Sevilla continued to fight until the end. Winning the penalty shootout is all about luck.

Sevila performance was really great in today's match against Manchester city who happens to be the star club in the last season and more also one of the leading clubs in the first leg games of this season,  but in tonight match,  Sevila really thought them a great lesson because the held the club down up until the 90 minutes plus was over and also were able to end the match on a draw after a tough penalty shootout,  this performance is indeed what we expect from most of the smaller clubs giving the bigger clubs tough time, this is what excite football fans most,  and it also what makes football an exciting game.
Manchester City has added another trophy to their chest. They were the favorites and they proved their worth. City had a greater hold of the midfield and dominated the game. Ball possession was City 74% and Sevilla 26℅ which shows how City had total control. They created many chances and had about 7 shots on target. Kudos to Palmer for canceling En-Nesyri's goal in the second half. If not for that goal Sevilla would have defended their single goal till the end. The match was not rough or physical and only two yellow cards were issued which went to Servilla players.

I never expected that game will be decided by penalties because City has the quality to score more goals. But the discipline and hard work of the Spanish side restricted City's fierce attack. Penalties are a combination of luck and skills, so Sevilla was once again unlucky. The Spanish side has lost this trophy more than any European club. Congratulations to Pep Guardiola's Citizens for adding the 15th trophy since the coach took over the club in 2016.

They finally won the game but they got it the hard way, your analysis shows you only checked the game your mobile football application to check the stats. City couldn't score more than that because the player's to create goal scoring chance was absent in the game.
Erling Haaland also has poor stats when it comes to the finals and semi-finals. It shows that Lionel Messi has the lead over him for the chase of the world best player. Pep is a great coach four trophies in how many months wonderful!

Manchester city was not lucky to win the game. Bono has become the savior for sevilla. He has been making so many brilliant saves. It reminds me the match against chelsea which was also ended with the same story as this one.
Gudelj must become the one that shall be blamed as he was running out of his luck. I think that it's not manchester city who gets luck but it's gudelj who was not lucky enough in executing the last chance in the penalty.
So many sevilla fans were crying caused by gudelj has been missing the golden chance to equalize the score of penalty. Poor gudelj.
Great game from both. Sevilla was fully defending against manchester city caused by the club know if it's treble winners club.

I want to say a few words about penalties.
Gudelj suffered a lot (I saw a summary) from the tension due precisely to being able to equalize. Penalties that seem easy are actually really insidious because emotions play tricks on you.

Manchester City control the match with high ball possession is normal with them but beating Sevilla in Europe and winning another trophy is good for Manchester City. They are becoming a giant in Europe and can be another successful club like Chelsea after spending so much money in the past twenty years.

This trophy gives Manchester City more confidence in their adventure to protect Champions League trophy and they are aiming at a second club in history can defend Champions League title. So far only Real Madrid successfully defend their titles.

I think that Bruyne's absence due to injury will certainly make Guardiola play some of his other best players, even so this is a prestigious match where the UCL and UEFA champions meet, I'm not sure that the result will be better for Manchester City, I think Sevilla can give a surprise to manhester city, in sports betting manchester is indeed the underdog but that doesn't guarantee victory.

I think the match will be tough and both will play tight so maybe there will be difficulties to score more goals, even if one of them wins, the score will not be much, just a narrow win, even though I am a Manchester City supporter they still have to be careful with surprises from Sevilla and always think that Sevilla is a tough opponent, don't underestimate it because Sevilla could have stolen that narrow victory, but I still bet for Manchester City to win.  Cheesy

Not Just the absence of the Belgium International, the exit of IIkay Gundogan has also been very visible. They let go of a very creative midfielder, but he wasn't replaced with another creative player.
Also Yeah, the injured De Brunye is a minus a to Manchester City and Pep Guardiola, but before the game, Pep Guardiola should have already planned for that shortage.

Tough and Interesting. Seeing how City plays, I double doubt duriy the weekend they'll be able to get a win against Newcastle United.
When Pep has made a decision then it is already in his plan as for players coming and going I think it is quite normal for a big club.
Gundogan can't be used as a strong reason now because Pep has let him go and now there are several players coming in, even though there is a difference but as long as it doesn't interfere with regeneration I don't think there is a problem with it. Losing De Bruyne for some time is also annoying but with Manchester City having several options I think it can still be covered. This is an opportunity for Kovacic and Rodri to show that they also deserve to be at Manchester City and not under the shadow of Gundogan.

This match is enough to prove that Sevilla also has the ability to compete with the strongest team in Europe. holding 1-1 is not bad for Sevilla. even that is very good with the amount of pressure they get. they also still managed to score goals against Man City.
I just hope Sevilla will do better in La Liga too. Their last season in La Liga was terrible. and they are currently also starting the season is not good.

I am pretty sure that it's exactly what Guardiola wants to do next season because he has known that its a very significant record that can't be easily broken. It is still possible because they have been good, and they were still able to keep some of their key players after they won the trebble, players like Haaland and KDB are still at the club and will not be going soon, but some players like Gundogan and Mahrez left because they felt they have achieved Eveything they ever wanted with Guardiola and with Manchester city, therefore,it was now time for them to move their seperate ways, but they would always remajn grateful to city for making them lift some trophies that they wouldn't have  lifted in life.

Huge surprise yesterday night as Marseille was eliminated through penalties from Panathinaikos.Marseille had everything under control and was comfortably leading 2-0 while they committed a penalty in the 90+9 minute of the game which made the game go in additional time.I don't know if this was bad luck or deserved but for me it was mostly bad luck and underestimating the opponent, they thought they were already qualified when in fact they got to additional time and later to penalties which are a lottery and they are now out of the Champions League.
It seems not a bad luck for marseille. The club needs to accept the fact that if panathi's keeper is far better compared with marseille's goal keeper. It must become the main reason why panathi was losing in the penalty.
The goal keeper of marseille has its weakness on penalty and i can see that how goal keeper was rarely predicting the direction from the ball perfectly. Marseille must accept the fact that if the club will be playing in europa league.
Aubameyang has been working so hard but the club couldn't rely upon its goal keeper. It's very sad for marseille fans to see that happens.

I can't call it a piece of bad luck but also I can't blame the goalkeeper of Marseille for it, they could definitely win this game before the penalty kicks and that's how Marseille didn't need a great goalkeeper to take the penalty kicks in this game while I think Panathinaikos was just a little bit lucky in his game because they are not strong teams to beat Marseille in the normal game and the only reason for them to win the game was the penalty kicks.

For me yesterday we saw two very big surprises, the first one its the obvious one, Marseille losing the qualification against Panatinaikos, i ahve to say they have pretty abd luck, they lose the qualy in the last minute and also in extra time they make  goal and was not allowed.

The second one was the victory of AEK against DInamo zagreb. Dinamo its really strong on this stages, i dont know what happen.

Marseille could only win in 90 normal time in second leg, while Panathinaikos had won in the first leg and made the result a draw in 90 normal time. So the match continued to extra time and up to the penalty shootout but unfortunately, Marseille lost on penalties, if Marseille won on penalties, then of course Marseille would qualify. But yes, after all the final result has been obtained and Marseille must fall and congratulations of course to Panathinaikos who managed to qualify.

About Dinamo Zagreb, it seems that they only maximize at half time. Because after all, in the statistics also seen that Dinamo Zagreb who managed to win 1-0 at half time, it seemed to make Dinamo Zagreb reduce the intensity of its attacks in the second half. But unfortunately, AEK Athens can rise in the second half by having better dominance and managed to make two goals also in the second half. But even so, at least this is still the first leg which of course there is still a second leg which Dinamo Zagreb might be able to turn things around.

Maybe Marseille was not lucky enough to win this game but I was expecting to see Marseille be in the next champions league because this team is one of the most popular teams in the French League and Marseille could win this against Panathinaikos because they had more control and more goal opportunities in this game while Panathinaikos in the normal situation couldn't beat Marseille and I was about to bet on Marseille for this game.

Pep Guardiola is going to have a lot of work to do this season if his team is going to be at the top. Knowing Guardiola, I know he will come up with something that will work.
He did not plan for De Bruyne's injury and that is going to be very difficult for him.
From today's game, you can see that there is no real creativity from the midfield. Most of the creativity came from the wing.
Bernardo Silva has to step up so much in the absence of De Bruyne. He should be a player solely as a central midfielder. Kovacic is good but he's not daring. He doesn't take much risk and that can limit the creativity of the midfield.

I know Man City will get better as the season progresses, it's what they do. Don't be surprised if they win Newcastle easily.

If we can say about the first half that Sevilla was lucky to some extent, then in the first 15 minutes of the second half, Sevilla should have made the score 2-0. Right now they are just playing better than City and I don't understand what Guardiola is waiting for - where are the replacements? Or is he thinking of starting to correct the game at 0-2?
As usual, Sevilla is used to losing the Super cup to which ever club. I cannot remember when last Sevilla won the super cup or if they have won it before now. I didn't watch the match but checking the statistics, it seems that Sevilla was lucky to have scored the goal against Manchester City. The possession was like 72% to 28% in favour of Manchester City. The passes completed was very high on Manchester City compared to Sevilla. I was just thinking how Sevilla managed to stretch the match to penalty shoot ours.

The fact that we saw a series of penalties is the merit of El Nesiri, who missed a few true scoring chances.
In general, the result is natural, City was the obvious favorite, but I think that a draw in regular time destroyed a lot of multibets today (for example, my hehe). But I can't say that I'm upset - City looks weak and the season will be interesting.

The first 45 minutes of the Super Cup between Manchester City and Sevilla has gone and the second half has started and almost going to the middle and we have seen that Sevilla is leading Manchester City.
I am not seeing the match because I am away from home, but going to the internet to check the score. I was surprised realizing that Kevin is not in Manchester City midfield and I knew that there will be a problem. The squad that Manchester City has brought to this match is something that Sevilla can follow up squarely. So if Sevilla wins this match I will not be so surprised.

It was a very tough match and Manchester City where very high on their pressing leaving their backline open making it easy for Sevilla who were very brilliant defensively to take advantage of it and counter them mostly in the first half, they used the opportunity in one of their counter attack to deliver the opening goal and a good cross from Cunha made the assist for a fine header from En-Nesyri in 25th minute of the game.
The abscent of kelvin Debruyne was really felt in the match but one thing i love about Pep Guardiola is that he has a lot of options in his team and Palmer proved that he was indeed a good replacement for Debruyne and scored an equaliser with a header, from a fine cross by Guardiol, the 2nd half was very tough for Sevilla because City pressed more and kept most of the possession even missed a lots of good chances having about 23 shots in total, full-time the match ended up in a full-time draw and led to a penalty shoot-out of which where Victorious scoring about 5 goals and Sevilla scored 4 and missed one, if city had lost the trophy this would have been the 2nd trophy they would had lost this season after losing the community shield to Arsenal however they had a good performance today just that Sevilla where more of the defending side and made it hard for the ball to be delivered to Halland.

Sevilla was better until they scored a goal,so in the first 20 minutes they attacked City pretty well. After they scored a goal they just parked the bus and if the game was played for 10 minutes longer City would have scored a goal, but they won on penalties and Sevilla o most got lucky. Still i expected a much better final. First trophy for City this season so things are looking still good for them.
