It's time for the Champions League again!  Smiley  I'm going to watch the Galatasaray - Young Boys match definitely. The first leg was really thrilling as you know. We watched 5 goals.

What do you say about this match? Will Galatasaray manage to make it to league phase?  Huh  My humble opinion is that they will make it one way or another. I don't expect an easy win first of all. We all saw how bad Galatasaray defense was. I don't expect it to be better this time either. But I expect a better attacking effort. They have very capable attackers. Even if it goes to extra time, I don't think they will lose to Young Boys.

Away from the the UEFA Champions League qualifying games, the
2024/25 UCL will officially kick off in less than 1 month from now and to some of us, we can't just hold back the excitement of seeing club football's most prestigious competition return back to our screens again. As a Real Madrid fan, I'm very optimistic that the reigning European and Spanish champions stands a very good chance of retaining the competition. Do you think we're going to have a different winner? How about Pep Guardiola's Manchester City, do you think they'll steer themselves to glory once again this season?

Yes, I am thinking that your team Real Madrid will face some difficulties in their regaining the Champions League title because several teams are also well prepared just as Real Madrid did. Manchester City and Arsenal are two teams that can give Real Madrid tough time because these two teams can give Madrid tough time in the Champions League. Inter Milan is another team from the Seria A that can be a threat to Madrid, while Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen can be another teams to make the competition more tough for Madrid to win again this season. For the La Liga challenge, I will be in support of Madrid.

So I've just learned that the group stage of the UCL will be replaced by the new format, the League stage:
https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/0268-12157d69ce2d-9f011c70f6fa-1000--new-format-for-champions-league-post-2024-everything-you-ne/
with similar changes done to the Europa League and the Conference League.

What's the community consensus on those changes? Do you think it's a step in a right direction? I have mixed feelings about this.

Real Madrid and Manchester City and several other teams from the Premier League could be tricky competitors for every candidate in the current Champions League. Because Real Madrid and Manchester City also still need to develop new strategies for their squads in order to compete better in this Champions League by following the new format. In addition, each fan who wants to see their team become champions is a very natural thing even though for now it is still too early to make predictions about who will win it.
The new format will now be interesting but I'm not sure any English club will be able to compete for trophies other than Manchester City.
For the previous few seasons Liverpool could still do that but for now I want to relax my expectations for Liverpool because although they at the beginning of the domestic competition they played very well but in the end there are still doubts for Arne slot in this regard.

In addition, Arsenal I think also not because they can only focus on 1 competition even though they improve in terms of performance but when working harder in several competitions at once they will slightly lose the stability they have which makes them lose everything and that has been proven in the last 2 seasons so besides Manchester City this season I'm not sure there will be another EPL club will be able to fight for the trophy in the Champions League.

The Champions League qualifying matches will be played tomorrow.
Galatasaray lost the first match 3-2 but I think they will win tomorrow night. Galatasaray is the home team and has the advantage. Muslera was very bad last week and we conceded 2 goals, Abdülkerim is suspended, this is a disadvantage for us.
I hope we win by 2 points tomorrow and continue in the Champions League.
Anything can happen at any time in football, but Galatasaray is the clear favorite.
It was very good that they got the score from 2-0 to 2-2 in the first match, but the penalty goal at the last minute broke their morale. If they get at least 2 different wins tomorrow, Galatasaray will continue on their way to the Champions League.
It would be very bad for Galatasaray if they were eliminated by a team like Young Boys.
I'm not sure what he'll do if he stays in the groups with this football.

I think many people will agree about the favorite teams to win this season, that Real Madrid and Manchester City are the two teams with the highest chances. While other contestants such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool, Arsenal, Inter Milan could exchange positions along the way, although in fact they all have the same chances before the competition starts. In addition, Leverkusen consistency seems to be a special attraction in the Champions League this season, where they are still continuing their positive trend in the Bundesliga until now. With the change in match format, of course it will make the competition more competitive, and actually it will make it difficult for us to predict, because this is the first time. Currently the play-off round has entered the 2nd Leg, and will be played in the next two days, and we will see the 36 contestants of the Champions League this season in full.
It is true, Real Madrid and Man City are still the most favorite teams to be the winner of UCL this season. Real Madrid has Mbappe now, people predicted they will be stronger in UCL. Meanwhile Man City still has almost similar squad, but they have some good new players. If we consider the current performance of Man City, no doubt they are very likely to go far in UCL. However, we don't underestimate other teams, there are many strong teams in UCL this season. Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Leverkusen, and Liverpool are also strong teams that may have the same chance.

Anyway, surely the new format in UCL will be harder for each team. In the new format, there will be more matches, so the coach is expected to be careful in keeping the fitness of the players. This enhance the possibility of injury, the coach must deal with this challenge by more often rotating the players. The squad depth will be very crucial, the coaches need to prepare well the second tier players, too. This condition require the contribution of the second tier players,, they will have higher chance to play.

Some new teams have qualified for the Champions League this season and there are some teams who didn't qualify for the Champions League last season but they again performed well in the local league last season and qualified for the Champions League this season. So it can be said in advance that this season of Champions League is going to be interesting. But apart from these, the important discussion is which team will be in the favorite position this season. In such discussions there are several parties whose names will come first. If the top five teams were to be listed, there would be Real Madrid first, Manchester City second, Bayern Munich third, Arsenal fourth and Inter Milan or Liverpool fifth. These teams are known to us, but the five teams mentioned will always do well, but we have seen evidence in previous seasons that new teams can also do well here. However, the mentioned teams will only be in the list of favorite teams.
With just a smidgen a bit more teams, and more games, I feel like we are going to have more smaller teams be there, and by smaller I mean not that many, because it's still UCL but at the very least we have three leagues now, conference was added a few seasons ago, and now we have more teams in all three, so there are a lot more teams in European competitions, meaning more money but also because there are more games that means that bigger teams will do better.

Because it's simply not possible to get unlucky for a one game and lose out, you could be a big team, have a win and a loss and a draw and suddenly you find yourself third place because the other team got like two wins and all, it happened and it's definitely exciting to see smaller teams do better, so this was definitely a change because at 8 games, bigger teams will have more chances to fix what's wrong and do better. All in all I hope that we can have more fun time watching these games.

The best of the "new" teams is Liverpool  Grin Without them, something is missing in the Champions League + I'm always happy to see Real beat them. As for the odds, bookmakers see the top five as follows:

Manchester City - 3.25

Real Madrid - 4.00

Arsenal - 10.00

Fc Bayern Munich - 13.00

Liverpool - 13.00

By the way, Inter is behind Barcelona and PSG, on par with Bayer in 8th-9th place.
Overall, I hope for an interesting season, it’s a shame that we still have a long wait for real games (playoffs).

I don't think the new format will change the playoffs in any way. As I understand it, it was decided to abandon the Swiss system and now each team will play two games with teams from 4 baskets that are made up by the strength of the teams.
Thus, the outsiders are at a loss again, since no matter how weak their results are, they will still have to play with strong teams. In general, a murky format that essentially has not changed anything.

It is too early to judge the team's shape based on the first games. It is obvious that Ancelotti will lead Real to the peak of shape by the Champions League playoff stage. I wouldn't forget the fact that almost all of the Real Madrid players didn't have a summer holiday, but worked hard in their national teams, so it's quite logical that they are "resting" at the beginning of this season.
This is main point which we need to understand as we have many weeks left in start of this event few teams are doing good job and having good chance of staying in touch for the title race few teams are having depressed start of their season, but things will be back to normal in few weeks Real Madrid is surely at his best but in first few games we have no depth into their performance with Mbappé is still had not scored any goal in Real Madrid Jersey in La Liga games mean things are surely needed to be had some time for having better results specially this was teasing time for many players those were involved into their national teams for big events.

I mean everyone supports that because of their last performance and their new current squad, no doubt  they stand a chance to compete with any team but we don't actually know how the input from each team will go this time around,we are yet to see and confirm  each teams performance even though leagues has started but all still fresh for a rational conclusion and even with the conclusion, there's still a 50-50 chance of what UCL is gonna be  or how the performance is going to look like...just for now let's just keep believing the specs Cheesy
In UEFA competitions we have too much creativity from few clubs which can bring surprises and shocking results so having prediction about any team is surely never been easy while now most of the supporters are cheering about Real Madrid surely we will have some surprises for them with things can take changes, and we will have challenges for them even currently on papers we are having Manchester City and Real Madrid at the top, but results can go either way, and we will have good changes which will increase the interest of the fans and will bring good results for the all soccer clubs which are coming for the title race in this prestigious soccer event.

Because both are tough clubs, that's what makes their match more interesting in the second leg later even though Galatasaray must be able to win by more than one goal because they lost one aggregate in the first leg. However, I am more confident in Galatasaray's hard work because the team will definitely not let Young Boys win easily at Galatasaray's headquarters even though their potential looks equally strong. But I think it will be a different story if they have to go to penalties in the second leg.

Yes, Young Boys are not completely safe after they managed to win the first leg match against Galatasaray, because their opponent is not an easy opponent and with a 1 goal advantage it is not safe at all.
When we look at the statistics in the first leg, we will see that Galatasaray could actually play well, but in my opinion they were just unlucky in that match. Because I myself think they deserved to draw with their game like that. Not to say that Young Boys played badly, they are also good, but the statistics say that their game is actually not much different, so I say they deserved to draw.
I think Young Boys team played well in this match and exert pressure from the start of match by doing first goal at 3 minutes after starting the match and they continue the effort and did second goal in 49 minutes of the game and after that Batshuayi did two goals for his team and did come back in this match and he made the match equal by doing 2 goals in only 6 runs. Young Boys team got penalty and they advantage of that penalty and did goal at crucial time and Young Boys team won the match by 3-2 score. Galatasaray team tried their best to do third goal but they became unsuccessful in their efforts and lose the match .
Actually youngboy coach thought the first half would go as they expected, but when Batshuayi into the match actually surprised them with the two goals he managed to score to reduce the score, with an aggregate of 3-2 in my opinion it would be difficult for Youngboy to qualify for the Champions League, because playing at Galatasaray home is not a very easy thing for every team that has visited RAMs Park so far, even though at the moment Youngboy is superior, I don't think they should try to defend in the second leg because if we look at the first leg statistics, actually Galatasaray  just unlucky in optimizing every opportunity that exists, so that when Galatasaray really maximizes their attacks in the second leg later, of course it will make Youngboy defense must to work really hard to suppress every Galatasaray attack.
My prediction is that Galatasaray will win in the second leg and ensure a one place in the Champions League is theirs this season.

A difference of 1 aggregate is not enough for Young Boys to qualify from the play off round because in the second leg they must beat Galatasaray again or get a draw, if the referee does not award a penalty maybe their match will be a draw unfortunately Galatasaray is very aggressive and and one of the players gets a red card so they are disadvantaged by the referee's decision but in the second leg everything becomes not easy if Galatasaray only wins by a difference of 1 goal they will take it to a penalty shootout to determine who the winner is, Young Boys and Galatasaray are both tough clubs so it is quite difficult to determine who deserves to win because all of them deserve to continue playing in the Champions League but only one of them will qualify.

I'm a bit more confident on galatasaray winning the second leg than Young Boys, although the Young Boys did well during the game and took advantage of the slight opportunities they had, an example of which was the penalty that was scored by Ugrinic. But it doesn't show whether galatasaray had less capacity to win. What I suggest this second leg is for galatasaray to put themselves in order and go for the goals and not just anything else. I know the second leg will be tougher since Young Boys team will be more intense this time around

Artificial turf affected the Galatasaray football team. Young Boys were used to this pitch. But the Galatasaray players struggled with it. Of course, the pitch was not the only problem. Everyone who watched the match saw that Galatasaray had serious defensive problems. But these problems are fitness problems. Because they have quality defenders like Abdülkerim, Nelsson and Sanchez. If their fitness goes up until the second match, they can make fewer defensive mistakes and win the match and the round. I see Galatasaray as the favorite of the round. There is a difference in quality between the two teams on paper. I think this will be reflected on the pitch.

Real Madrid will always being an the favourite of this competition because you can see based on the champion lists in the last 10 season that Real Madrid is really dominate this competition with gets 5 trophies so these achievement possibly will be hard to pursued by any other teams even there was opinion about them that if don't want Real Madrid gets the trophy then don't ever let them reach to the final matches because according to the statistics Real Madrid has more than 80% winning percentages on the final matches of Liga champion

For other team just like Manchester City probably they also can be considered as strong contender for race title especially after the return of Gundogan it makes them more stronger  but it's hard to predict who is the winner of this season because the league hasn't starting yet especially Champion league has new format but we cannot ruled out other teams just like PSG or Bayern Munich especially PSG that they are really on fire without Mbappe at Ligue 1

Honestly I don't want to be quick to . making conclusions or even predictions, I would have said probably judging from the performance of the teams who qualified for the champions league so far in their various domestic leagues, we could get a go idea into what their performance would look like in the champions league but on a second taught, champions league do come with a different kind of spirit and the energy there is very different so I believe they may perform absolutely differently and this was seen with some teams last season, especially the German teams who where not doing so well in their domestic league but got to perform brilliantly in the champions league, my anticipations are actually high and Madrid and city been top choice for the league winners is another highlight to watch out for.
Some new teams have qualified for the Champions League this season and there are some teams who didn't qualify for the Champions League last season but they again performed well in the local league last season and qualified for the Champions League this season. We are just waiting for 7 more teams that are competing in the qualifying round to ensure  place in the current champions league, but I think it is too early for us to say who deserves to win the champions league, as a madrid fan of course you will support them to win the Champions League again this season and your trust in Madrid is of course supported by the quality of the squad and also Madrid performance which is currently considered very worthy of being a favorite, but even so it feels unfair for us to underestimate other teams to be able to compete this season in in the fight for the Champions League title, apart from Madrid, so far no team has been able to defend the Champions League title in a row, so I think Madrid has a bigger chance of being able to defend the Champions League again this season, but I personally tend to see Manchester City if their  becoming tight title contenders again, but apart from them, of course we cannot underestimate teams like Liverpool and Munich this season after their failure last season.
Real Madrid and Manchester City and several other teams from the Premier League could be tricky competitors for every candidate in the current Champions League. It is difficult to predict who will be the champion in this Champions League, because there are many factors that can bring them to win the title, such as the game, mentality and luck of a club. Real Madrid is currently the defending champion after last season they managed to record their 15th title, but their biggest threat is Manchester City. The bookies themselves give Manchester City a chance above Real Madrid, which means they are still widely believed to be able to win their second title this season. But don't forget other clubs that will also be able to provide a surprise. Last season who thought that Borussia Dortmund would reach the final? few thought they would go that far. But in reality they were able to reach the final with all the difficulties that existed. So no club can be underestimated in this Champions League.
