OK for Atletico, they are a good team and they are certainly in better shape than United, I did not expect Villareal to pass, in the end, both teams went further and now they are waiting for much more dangerous opponents! I’m not sure how much Villareal can do against Bayern, they have shown they know how to play even under pressure, but Bayern is much more dangerous than Juventus! The same can be said for Atletico, they are playing against City, which is much better than United in every aspect, and this season they are playing top football, they can even take the title, who knows! It will be interesting to watch these little Davids against Goliaths, I hope they will be able to do something more and maybe move to the semi-final!
I have to agree that most people expected United to beat ATM, or at least have a bit of a better game. Aside from that Villareal being in the quarter finals over United is still bonkers in my mind. I keep saying that UCL is as much as drawing the team against you, as being good. A team that is great, could draw another amazing team and be eliminated, whereas a team that has nearly no chance to win, could end up facing a bad team and go up.
In fact, if there are some upsets by other teams, a "bad" team (obviously bad compared to big UCL teams). Just get other bad clubs until like quarters or even semi, then face another bad team that had an upset win over a great team and even win UCL that way.
