After seeing how the Ballon D'or awards were conducted, am pretty sure many of you would agree that if we had to point a winner from all the contenders, Robert Lewandowski was the most deserving player that night but whatever happens with the voting system clearly doesn't show the most hard working player of that period. Btw I hear Messi wants to pass it on to  Robert Lewandowski , how far as this gone???

Anyway after this Ballon D'or  nightmare am expecting Bayern Munich not to show mercy on Barcelona on the 8th after their former talisman got it shocking the world. My prediction  Bayern Munich 4-0 Barcelona

Even when Barcelona was in its prime Bayern Munich usually beat them big, so I don't see much point in justifying such a prediction based on the Ballon d'Or award. Now Barcelona is much weaker than Bayern and they should rather hope for Benfica's failure than that they can take at least one point in the Allianz arena.

I think that I'm going to watch the Milan - Liverpool game on the next week. It is a crucial game for Milan to have a chance for continuing in this tournament. And the last Liverpool - Milan game was really delightful. Despite Liverpool's scoring first, Milan turned the game around. But Liverpool also did the same and won by 3-2. If we consider that Milan made them big difficulties in Anfield, they can really beat Liverpool in San Siro.
What a battle it is in group B between Porto, Athletico Madrid and AC Milan, only one of this teams will join Liverpool in the next round, obviously the reds are already through and have topped the group. Imo, I think Milan could actually have the advantage cause Liverpool have qualified already and may decide to field a very young and inexperienced team and through that way give fringe players some game time, and as such, Milan might find it easy to win, and then since Athletico Madrid and Porto will both be playing for their lives, they could end up with a draw which would see Milan go through.

Having said that, anything is possible in this group, it's still possible for either Milan, Porto and Athletico Madrid to go through, it's going to be a crazy and unpredictable final matchday in group B, personally, I'd want Ac Milan to qualify for the round of 16, it's been a long time we saw them in that stage in the CL.

I only now noticed that Milan is in front of Atletico despite both having four points. So the goal difference is what counts first, not the away goals anymore. Yes, now I recall. The one advantage for Milan might be that Klopp will not send his best team onto the pitch. If I were Klopp, I would give some players a rest and make sure that I don't lose them because of a rather unimportant game. Still Porto has to either draw or lose or otherwise it's not going to happen for Milan. Very tough group. I must say that I always liked to watch Atletico in the final round. They have delivered so tough and exciting fights so often.

Chelsea and Juventus are still competing to capture the leadership by the last group match. Chelsea are ahead of Juventus despite having the equal points because they werre better in their head-to-head matches. And there is an obvious thing that Chelsea will keep their position as Zenit already qualified for the EL and have not any chance for the CL anymore. They would defeat Zenit with a nice score.
At least they will now show an intense game because they want to stay in the top position and don't want to be in the second position.
I think Juve themselves will maximize their match even though these two teams have been confirmed to qualify but I'm very sure they don't want to be lazy in this match

Anything can happen in this kind of a group indeed. There are three teams that maintain their opportunity to move on. Maybe Porto seem the most comfortable team among them as they are one point ahead of the others. But their competitor is Atletico Madrid on the last week in the end. It is not a very easy game for them obviously.

Returning is just bullshit to look pretty.
Unfortunately, the Ballon D'or award has been totally distorted a few years ago. It is no longer a really fair and meaningful prize. It is clearly noted that the winner is part of someone's agenda or interest behind.

This year Messi would be the player who should never have won.

Barcelona should have finished the job in the game against Benfica in Camp Nou. If they won that, they would have guaranteed qualifying for the next round of the Champions League and would have played comfortable in their last game. But the Benfica game ended up with a draw by 0-0 and Barcelona made their job much difficult. And they are very unlucky that they're going to play against Bayern Munich in Allianz Arena in their last game. And they have no choice rather than winning. Because Benfica would be able to defeat D. Kyiv easily I guess. And the Bayern Munich I've known so far still wouldn't be okay to a loss even though they have won all of their five games in the group.
There is no magic,Barcelona cannot qualify, the way they played, they didn't deserve to qualify as well. The Barca I know for aggression, possession, just changed to be a mere team that different clubs are flogging anyhow without them showing up a fight that they are Barcelona.

But I believe now that Xavi has come, things will change, and ofcourse they have been doing well since he became their coach as well.

I mean in the end it is not really that surprising that Barcelona is not performing that well this season right? You always have to consider the circumstances. Barca was in a pretty unstable financial situation even before the covid pandemic happened which delivered a heavy blow to all the clubs because they had no more income from selling tickets. That basically broke Barcelonas Back and they could not afford to prolong the contract with Lionel Messi even though he did not want to leave Barca. Now they have to play with a lot of young players that are not ready yet for the big games but they still need to play because they have no one else.

When it comes to the group D, I see that Real Madrid and Inter both are safe in terms of guaranteeing their qualifying. But there is still a competition between them for the 1st position. And in the game in Santiago Bernabeu, Inter have to win to take the lead. Real Madrid defeated them in Giuseppe Meazza so this is going to be even harder for Inter. I expect a draw in the worst case and maybe Real Madrid could win again.

Inter Milan and Real Madrid have certainly qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League but the group winners will be determined in the last match of the two, where in the first meeting Real Madrid won at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium with a score of 0-1. when facing real Madrid Estadio Santiago Bernabeu especially considering that Real Madrid is in an impressive performance this season maybe a draw is very suitable for both teams and Real Madrid as the leader of Group D Champions League and Inter qualify as group runners-up

We have to keep in mind that this Barcelona, no longer "exists". They will now have to create a new identity. This style is a style that was associated with a set of players with certain characteristics, and players of those that don't always exist.

And today, we can see how despite having won a lot, they mismanaged the money they had/earned, and now they have bigger problems - lack of right players for their style, and lack of money to hire these players.

Group G will have a lot of important games for sure, Villareal and Atalanta will be important too, Barcelona vs Bayern will be "important" but I do not expect Bayern to lose at all they are just way too good. Dortmund vs Besiktas is very important for Dortmund as well but it is very unlikely for them to lose that one neither, however even if they win, and Lisbon loses, the goal difference is huge there so I doubt anything would change.

All in all it will be important for some teams and even one group but it is not going to be "fun" to watch all that much if you ask me, most of the games are obvious results and unless something unexpected happens then it will be boring to watch, and even if unexpected happens it just prolongs it until next stage where these teams will be eliminated.

Even though Liverpool's priority is currently in the EPL because the competition there is still fierce and their position is still not safe when compared to the UCL table, but I don't think Liverpool will want to come to the Giuseppe Meazza which is thousands of miles away hoping to lose.
I think even if they play the second tier and make some of their core players on the bench, but they will at least be able to make a draw and even win is very possible.
The Premier League is the most competitive competition today and all teams from the Premier League are group winners in the champions league. Manchester City managed to come out as winners of group A beating PSG, then Liverpool even won 5 wins in 5 champions league matches and became champions in group B, leaving only Chelsea and Manchester United who had already qualified for the round of 16 to determine the group winners in their last match. - each team.
for MU maybe I would say that they will grab the win and top the points table too in the end. their opponents are young boys. of course they won't let the youngbkys be like in the first game. but for chelsea it is a draw because indeed they are now on the same points with juve and these two teams will definitely be seeded again in this match because their opponents are opponents who will not provide meaningful resistance.

Not sure Bayern Munich will play second tier players, because after all both are great teams which of course their prestige will remain high and their target is always to win. It doesn't matter what kind of situation and condition each team is in, because the most important thing for them is a positive result which of course they will continue to aim for victory. Although indeed, it won't be a problem if Bayern Munich loses but I'm not sure Bayern Munich will relax the attack and even though Barcelona can play well, I still don't believe Barcelona will get points in this last match.

No more!
We cannot forget the monetary prize that teams receive for each victory. It's not just the fact that you qualify, every victory earns you a lot of money. I don't see the Germans giving that money easily to Barcelona.
Well that's the main thing, so it's highly unlikely that just because Bayern Munich have already qualified would allow him to de-escalate the tension which I'm sure won't happen for Bayern Munich either. Even when Bayern Munich is playing in other domestic tournaments the fact is when Bayern Munich have chances to win by a score of even a dozen, Bayern Munich will absolutely do it. But indeed, sometimes when a team that has already qualified for at least they make a rotation of players but that doesn't mean they will play second-tier players too and also, it depends on the schedule and the opponent they will face next and anyway, Bayern Munich will still play aggressively against Barcelona later I'm sure.

liferpol is now in a very good performance, never lost in the champions league, i am very optimistic that liferpol will be able to beat ac milan, and wipe out all matches in the group, even in all champions league, porto has a great chance to qualify for the round of 16, Porto just need to draw with atm..

I still can't predict the result between Porto and Atletico Madrid, because both have shown good performances in their respective domestic leagues. But if we look at the matches in the domestic league, Porto is more convincing to qualify. however, if they are only chasing a draw, it is not impossible that they will be beaten by Atletico.

For Liverpool vs AC Milan, I hope there will be a surprise from AC Milan to win the match. If Milan wins, and Porto vs ATM only ends in a draw, they will also feel the surprise of Milan. Grin

In fact, I would not say that Atlético is in some particularly bad shape - they play their usual dull football, but it gives a result (in the Spanish Championship they are only 3 points behind Real). In the Champions League, they are less successful, but their competitors also cannot boast of anything. In fact, Atlético only needs one win and Porto does not seem to be an invincible team in this situation, so I think the odds at Atlético are distorted.

Although Atletico Madrid are not a weak team, their performance in the Champions League is poor. They have scored 4 points in 5 matches. I can't call their performance a good performance in such a situation. However, the situation is similar in Porto and AC MIlan in their group. Liverpool have qualified for the next round. Now the team that wins the next match will be able to qualify for the next round.

5 matches is too short a distance to assess the quality of the game (especially if two matches against Liverpool and two matches against Milan) - a couple of accidents with a more or less equal game can throw you far back. Atlético has lost just one time with a margin of more than the minimum and the last match they play against Porto. I think their chances are much higher than the quotes of the bookmakers.

The Milan - Liverpool and Porto - Atletico Madrid matches are going to carry a big importance next week. Because except Liverpool's guaranteed position, the rest of the teams are still competing for the 2nd place. And they have one last chance. All of them would like to benefit from this chance very well. Porto are the most advantageous team now as they are one point ahead of Milan and Atletico both. In case they defeat Atletico, they are the qualifiers. However, I think Atletico will win that match. And Milan will also beat Liverpool and become the last qualifiers for the next round.
