Barcelona will qualify for the 1/4 finals, it’s what they do. Napoli are a good defensive team but I don’t think they’ll be able to stop Barca scoring a couple of goals.

most likely Barcelona will be the favorite in this challenge, but Napoli will not be intimidated, to remember that both teams will play away and will no longer be at Camp Nou
Napoli conceded only 5 goals in 7 matches in the Champions League, but conceded 49 goals in 37 matches in Serie A. Barcelona will definitely score, but whether Napoli will be able to answer is unknown. I think Barcelona will go to the quarter-finals.

as an Italian I hope that Napoli will take the turn, it will be a great challenge

Real Madrid continues to prepare for the meeting against City.It means that there are no other patients except Mariano. But there is still time until August 7th. I hope the disease will not be transmitted to other players.
Hopefully it doesn't spread round to other players, because that is gonna be a huge blow for the fixture which will result to postponement. City vs Madrid is one of the match to watch out for as Madrid will want to give out their very best in qualifying
This is a serious issue that must be sorted out by UEFA before things goes out of hand imho if possible there is should be a shift in the fixture to give room for more testing, asymptomatic  nature of covid-19 had made the management and treatment of the virus complicated, we shouldn't be more interested in the much exciting game between Man City and Madrid but the health implication should be our most priority for now to avoid spread and transmission of the virus.

I was just reading an article saying that Barca will have about 15 first players ready for Napoli game and then went googling a bit. They are missing Vidal and Busquets to red/yellow cards. Arthur refuses to play since they are kicking him out of the club. Braithwaithe is not registered and Dembele, Umtiti & Arajuho are injured. They still have respective first 11 but they are awfully thin before very important games. Furthermore, those games will be played every few days and Barca will probably have big problems with fitness. Add to that all that discontent in dressing room and I am not seeing them getting far.

@Trofo I don’t think that Barcelona can win because the player’s are unhappy under Setien (coach), and further the board has done absolutely nothing to solve their frosty relations with barca player’s, and this has even led many people to believe that Messi will quit Barcelona in 2021. Furthermore you’re right that if few injuries do takes place then Barcelona will have to field player’s who have very little experience, and that too will do more harm to their chances of winning the champions league.

if the coach are not able to coordinate with the player then Barcelona's performance will be dropped again on the next season. You know, coach is a center  of a team.  the whole team is centered on him. Only one skilled coach can give a good performance with his unstable team. if we look at the Real Madrid team we will see that,  Real Madrid hadn't play well at the  beginning of the season, but at the end of the season they won the cup. And all credit goes to Zidane.  if Barcelona are not able to solve their internal problem now, their future will be more dire.

it is a set of factors that makes the team very strong
surely the coach helps a lot, really
but the climate inside the locker room is also important
how important it is that old and experienced players will guide you like you were their son and not put you in the wheel

According to the Spanish media, the match between Barca and Napoli could not take place in Camp Nou after all. UEFA is said to already be in contact with the health authorities in Catalonia, as the Covid 19 cases are rising again.

Why haven't they moved this match to Portugal like the rest of the UCL matches from the quarter finals already?! Sure, Barca would have to waive off their home advantage, but without fans in the stadium that shouldn't be that big of a disadvantage. If the Corona situation in Spain won't allow a match in Barcelona, that would be the easiest solution.

They are trying to make it as fair as possible. Since first leg was played in Napoli this one should be played in Barcelona. Otherwise, Barca will give them hell and rightfully complain that Napoli had an unfair advantage. Similar situation with City-Real match as well.

Of course if covid situation is that bad in Barcelona, health should come first and they need to make some tough decisions.
True ..

I guess it's been announced in the quarter-finals drawing few weeks ago about this one.
And yeah there's no difference to play at home or away thesedays without fans cheering and screaming at you , wouldn't be a problem to play at a neutral stadium but yeah every decision has been made and designed as fair as possible, so Barcelona will accept that fact..

Except for the fans of course 😄 .
I just had a feeling that Barcelona wouldn't make it through to the next round, idk , just a hard feeling here 😃

No, Nicola Ventola is not the most famous but another even more successful ... a certain Filippo Inzaghi, but perhaps he too is not even more recent, who grew up in Atalanta and are now players of the national team or who were in the national team, I'll list them to you

Nicola Ventola
Ivan Pellizzoli
Daniele Baselli
Simone Zaza
Giacomo Bonaventura
Giampaolo Pazzini
Domenico Morfeo
Riccardo Montolivo
Filippo Inzaghi
Cristian Vieri
Roberto Donadoni
Antonio Cabrini
Gaetano Scirea

these are the most famous and well-known ones who started their career in Atalanta 😁

yes, you said true reality ... i dont remember Donadoni/Inzaghi/Cabrini/Vieri
but this is Atalanta, is a spring talent farm (and sell it for money - because football club is expensive!)

i hate international full-spent team like inter, they spent only money and fan pay more for nothing

You know yourself what's going on in the background. Pragmatic and meaningful solutions have never existed and will never exist. It's all about money and machinations.

I fully agree with your thoughts, it would be easier to move the game to a safer place, but I think that the management of the last Champions League games would become compromised again

I had also read a similar article, he is losing some strong players but he is still a strong team, Napoli has fallen a lot in the last three matches, as an Italian I hope they can continue their journey in the Champions League

OK, I can't find a topic about the Europa League anymore, so I'm putting this info here, and in any case, Sevilla will soon play in the European Champions League any way.

You can always find the link in the first post of this thread (I started them both) but here it is anyway: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/uefa-europa-league-discussion-thread-5161551

I don't think anything can scupper UEFA's plans now. Even the teams involved would in any case, worst-case scenario, go ahead and play, and then go for 2 weeks isolation haha. Of course, leagues all start in September again so nah, they'll all play, and then get special treatment and we'll all forget it.

Something else that worries me is that Real just had a positive COVID-19 case in their team. Mariano Diaz did test positive for the Coronavirus. With a two week quarantine he will be missing the match against ManCity. Sure Diaz can be replaced on short notice but what happens when more positive tests appear? The whole situation is even more complicated when you know that usually everyone visiting the UK from Spain usually has to go into a two week quarantine and that Real Madrid only got a special permit.
And already there is the first positive test. Just talked about it yesterday. Now it will be interesting to see if he will be the only player.
Rather unpleasant situation before the match. So the situation is not in Madrid's favor. We will wait for news.

We are currently in the second Covid-19 wave in Europe. The number of infections constantly increase again. If this continues, the Champions League will be won this year by the team that has the least number of players who have missed through infection. If the number of cases increases in the participating teams, it is likely that the tournament will be cancelled for good for this year. And I think this variant is more likely than that will see a final game.
Covid 19 increase will probably stop the UEFA Champions league games this year. There are regular plays in other league right now even till when UEFA Champions games starts. The only possible way is to check and test regularly on players and quarantine the infected ones as fast as possible. Failure to do this in a regular basis will cause something annoyed globally.
