Chelsea played the first leg of their UEFA Europa Conference League qualifying game tonight against Swiss club Servette FC and were able to win the game with a 2:0. Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke were the two players that found the back of the net in the game. They'll now travel to Switzerland next week Thursday to play the second and last match if the tie and if you ask me, I think the English Premier League club will not have any difficulties in winning the tie. Do you have a different opinion in regard of the tie?
I am in doubt that Chelsea may not have any difficulty in winning the Switzerland side when they meet in their second tie. Chelsea won this first leg not on a soft landing despite playing on their home soil they have to manage to win, and if not that Servette gambled with many of their chances that would have put the game maybe in a draw tie especially in the remaining 15minutea of that game. Going to Switzerland for the next leg I think Chelsea will be going for a draw rather than lurking for a win because they know it's going to be a difficult game out there.
Regardless of the course of the match, Chelsea 2-0 win over Servette was Enzo Maresca first success, we remember that they previously suffered a defeat in the Premier League from Man City. I think the result of the match can be capital to increase the players confidence, and can appear more consistently in the future. On paper, the result is certainly in line with the predictions of many bettors, where Servette is indeed not a worthy opponent for Chelsea. In many aspects, Chelsea is indeed more favored to win, Servette needs great luck to be able to create a surprise.
Overall, Chelsea even deserves to be favored as a strong candidate for the Confederations League champion this season, as I said, they have more complete attributes than all the other contestants. If Chelsea then fails to become champions, I think it will be a very surprising failure, we know how much budget they have spent to build the club since Todd Boehly arrived. In the next match, Chelsea will most likely be able to dominate again by defeating Servette. But before that, Enzo Maresca squad must face Wolves in the second week of the Premier League first.
That 2:0 lost to Manchester City without a one goal reply in their opening game for this season in the EPL was a pain to me even as a half Chelsea fan (I became a half fan since they started losing much games they are expected to be wining in order to guide my emotions
). On a normal day Servette being a team we'll refer to a farmer's league team wouldn't be a problem for Chelsea to win even with it's second team but we can't confidently speak volume about that to the current Chelsea.
Checking the match statistics at full-time the ball possession wasn't of any conspicuous difference for a better team in an elite league playing against a weaker team neither did the shots on target or goal attempts depicts so.
Goal attempts: Chelsea 16 :19 Servette.
Shots on target: Chelsea 5:8 Servette.
If their winning could build more confidence in them to remaining consistent in winning games it's going to make all money spent on the team so far worth it but for now I think otherwise about that.
