Hopefully Xabi cool hands will still work well next season, so that he can bewitch all Leverkusen players to perform optimally, and we will enjoy their journey full of surprises again. It must be admitted that defending a trophy is much more difficult than winning it, it is definitely not easy, and Xabi is well aware of that.

I think Leverkusen will have difficulty maintaining their unbeaten record, but they will try to collect more points than Bayern. Apart from that, the real challenge is in the Champions League, which is a competition that will drain their energy and focus more than the European League. However, we are all certainly very entertained by their performances in all competitions.

Xabi will try to retain most of his players, while trying to bring in several other talents to add to the rotation options. I think in the Bundesliga they will compete closely with Bayern, while in the Champions League it really depends on the opponent they will face. Xabi Cold hand might not work if he faces a team like Madrid or City there.

They have all it takes for them to continue the way they played last season.They have very good players at that team,and I am happy for a man like Xabi Alonso,who have taking it upon himself to make sure he pushes Leverkusen to a greater heights.If they can maintain the kind of consistency they maintained last season,then I'm quite sure they can go on to lift the trophy twice,and not only that,they will looking forward to adding an European trophy to the list next season.Just can't wait to see them play in the Champions league next season.

In my opinion, one season still cannot mean that they can be said to have a playing identity, because it is only one season while the competition will continue every season, so they need a long time to emerge their true identity. Moreover, they have just tasted the Bundesliga title for the first time, so in my opinion we still have to see how they do next.
Maybe if the teams we are talking about are Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and teams that are used to winning titles then we can say they already have an identity. In fact, in my opinion, now they are in the process of getting this, and whether they succeed or not, only they themselves can do it.
But at least we have seen Leverkusen in very good condition now under the coaching of Xabi Alonso. Now their task is to maintain the consistency of play they have shown this season. It's not an easy thing, but I think they can do it.

They are now the best in the Bundesliga and runners-up in the Europa League, Leverkusen also created new history while they were competing in Europe.

We can actually see which team will compete in the Europa League for the 2024/25 season clearly and they are guaranteed to take part in the competition, there are no changes and we will see it in the future when the Europa League competition starts.

I think there will be many people who have hopes for AS Roma, but for me personally to be honest, I won't make decision to predict the results more quickly, it better to see it first in the future when the competition has started.

In the champions league it's going to be really different away from all that they have experienced so if they are aiming at the European glory, I believe they already have a taste of what it feels like with their achievements and performance last season, only that they weren't able to get the complete glory that was supposed to come with all the efforts and the performance put in place to make the season a very worth while season. This season at the champions league, it will be very deceptive to think that it's going to be same like that of the last season.

Establishment of identity is something I think Leverkusen has done already by virtue of their performance in the last season that got most persons really surprised in the fact that they were able to achieve that much when they were even not rated as a big tea or even a team that is somewhere close to been seen as a big team, this season Al they will have to so is to maintain a statue co or possibly improve in getting to bigger height if possible as that is the best way for them to be able to achieve as much as possible.

I know there are a lot of matches in which they have been able to win in the 90th minute or on the injury time. At this point, I will say it was just not The Black and Reds being lucky. Because they were doing it on a consistent basis, right? And at the end of the day, three points is what matters. Being unbeatable throughout the whole season is an achievement in itself. But I never thought it was going to break at the last game that they would have played.

By the way, Black and Reds were unbeaten throughout the whole season in the Bundesliga. It’s just that they lost the last match that they have played in the Europa League competition.

To say that Leverkusen are not going to have a successful Champions League competition is probably not a very dumb statement. But the Champions League competition is obviously far more harder compared to the average Bundesliga matches or the Europa League competition. So it is probably not expected from Xabi Alonso's army to actually even reach the semifinals of the Champions League competition. But it is not going to be a big surprise if they do.

I think the saying "success is hard, maintaining it is harder" applies very well in football. Leverkusen took everyone by storm and I am sure a lot of people and teams were surprised. It's like these surprise teams winning a title that nobody ever expected, but 99% of the time they can't maintain that level of success. Remember Leicester City when they won the Premier League.

Leverkusen will have a much harder time next season. Not that it wasn't hard to achieve what they achieved, but teams will be prepared differently next time. Especially the top teams in the Bundesliga like Bayern, Leipzig, Dortmund. But also in Europe.

But the level they played was so high that maintaining it is almost an unrealistic goal to begin with. Playing a wholes season with a single loss, which was the final in the Europa League, has never been done before by any team in Europe. That's why it wouldn't be realistic Leverkusen is the team that could repeat that when prime Barcelona couldn't even do that.

With the way new leagues structured, there will be over 100+ teams from Europe that will be in the group stages alone, I feel like that would make things a lot better. If you put the qualifying rounds into that as well, we are talking about 150+ teams who will have some European competition games instead. That is not easy, that makes things much more possible to have greater returns, and we are going to see bigger teams keep winning of course, but we are going to see smaller teams start to make consistent amount of money, and that should make them get some good players.

I mean think about it, if you make 30+ million a year from this, then spend it on 2 players each year, in 5 years you have 10 players who are all 15+ million worth, some even more if they gained value, so you may have a 150-200 million euro worth team in 5 years alone.

Many people think that Leverkusen is a very lucky team without losing for one season in the domestic league, even in the UEL, they only lost in the final, namely against Atalanta and that is also not a failure in my opinion, they are consistent, it's not because they are lucky. in fact, if they are lucky they only win a few times, but they are consistent from the start of the season to the end of the season maintaining their record of being an unbeatable team and strange people consider that to be luck and cannot be obtained next season.

If Xabi Alonso still maintains his style of play and also keeps some of his important players in the main squad of course there will be changes but still the mentality and style of play will not be much different from the previous season, I don't know but I guess it seems like people are not confident in their abilities Leverkusen in the next season will definitely equate the team with the Napoli team which we know in the domestic league. Napoli last season won the domestic league with good results but after the new season they played quite badly and people don't understand that Napoli lost their coach while Leverkusen keep hanging in there, I'm sure Leverkusen will be a difficult team in the UCL next season and also in the domestic league they will continue to play the same way.

An upset is something everyone enjoys seeing. Everyone loves a Cinderella story. But some leagues are tougher than others. Some teams are just better. Leverkusen, they had a good run, but they're not Bayern Munich. They're not Real Madrid. They gotta focus on whats in front of them, and right now, thats the Bundesliga. Perhaps the Europa League is more their speed. Not that it will be simple even then. Leverkusen, they have to establish their identity. They need to show they can win consistently. Then, and only then, can we start talking about European glory.

It's very true, winning the champions league is like the height of success in the European football to a very far great extent, because it happens to be the most prestigious league in European football only contested by champions from all the leagues acrose Europa so a team who's able to beat every other team in that league to winning the league is considered a really top team and believed to be probably the best for that season in Europe. In most cases it's not an absolute that these teams been the best at the time becomes a constant, rather they get to the point where another tem who gets to perform much better in the next season is seen as the next to team as against the previous who has been the champion.

In the champions league, every team found there are usually trying to give only but their best as almost same is replicated in the Europa as they are the like the second division for the champions league and so both league are seen with almost same level of prestige in the way they are been presented and the efforts always put out to getting with of these trophies a s whenever a team is a able to win the Europa, they begin to aim for the champions league with the mind that they have been able to get pass the second tier of the top league and would want to try their strength at the top tier .

In terms of pot distribution, perhaps Leverkusen will be in the second Pot in the Champions League draw next season. And actually this is also quite profitable for them, because on paper they will probably meet a team that is considered no better than them in the 3rd pot and so on, only the first pot is considered a big threat. However, this is also based on calculations on paper, perhaps we will see the details in the Champions League drawing that will be carried out.

But once again this is the Champions League, in the Champions League anything can happen. We have often seen that many teams had to be eliminated in the group stage, even though on paper they were the favorites. There are always mediocre teams that can provide a surprise in the Champions League and it is not impossible that this will happen next season. What you say is of course reasonable if indeed Leverkusen does not have the depth of a qualified squad later, in my opinion, Leverkusen will try to stay focused on the Champions League and also the Bundesliga next season, as they have done in the Europa League so far, Leverkusen failure in the Europa League is not something that indicates if their squad is weak but in that case of course the mentality possessed by Leverkusen is still far compared to Atlanta,  Next season I am quite sure that Leverkusen will be an attraction for good players ,so it is likely that if Leverkusen brings in some new players, then their mentality and also their performance will be strong enough to compete in the Champions League.

I think, Leverkusen will remain focused on the Champions League and the Bundesliga at the same time and I am quite sure if Alonso can optimize their squad to be able to face the tight schedule next season, indeed the Champions League has a different atmosphere from the European League, but when other surprise teams can be quite capable of doing it and going far in the Champions League,  Why do you doubt Leverkusen will not be able to do it next season?

Football is full of surprises and that is why we see those results playing out the opposite as others thought it will be. You are right, Leverkusen needs to focus more on their domestic league because it will be very hard for them to reach the semifinals in UCL. The reason is that there are so many strong clubs in UCL.

If Leverkusen can improve their performance and take their UCL matches serious, they might go far but they have more hope in Bundesliga than in UCL. However Europa League is not as tough as UCL, so let them know that it will not be an easy win for them in UCL.

I often hear people say on this forum that the ball is round and victory can go to anyone, including in the case of the Europa League final in the Atalanta and Bayer Leverkusen match, almost 80% had predictions and thought that the strongest candidate who would definitely bring home the trophy was Leverkusen but in fact Atalanta brought home and it was a very hot topic for several weeks and it will be remembered in my opinion, it was a shock to most people because it was unthinkable that Leverkusen could lose like that, and a lot of gamblers lost out on that final match because they were so confident that they would win there some might go all in.

I am not going to be expecting that much from Bayern Leverkusen since this is their first time playing in the champions league competition under Xabi Alonso. When we have too much expectations from them, it becomes very hard for the team and our expectations from them when not met will make us undervalue them as a team. I know Bayern Leverkusen will try their best, but what is more important is that they try their best to go far in the competition before elimination if at all they’ll face one on the competition.


Bayern Leverkusen success to the champions league is because of their performance throughout the league. Even if they never participated in the Europa League, they would have as well qualified for the Champions League with that great performance they had in the last season. The champions league is different from the Europa League because much is expected from every team and if you underperform, you’ll be easily eliminated from the competition. Bayern Leverkusen has what it takes but I don’t have full confidence in them to win the trophy.

Of course there are many surprises in football and we have already seen many of them in all the various leagues were people will have a strong believe do the performance of the team and draw conclusion that they will surely win the trophy but at the end the club they did not even expect will actually become the winner, however even on this season premier league when Liverpool was so much good and leading the first position while Manchester City was on the third almost everybody was certain that Liverpool will be the winner but everything just turn around next moment, so actually surprises is actually what makes every leagues to be more interesting, however in respect to the performance of Bayern Leverkusen they have a good team but there focus should majorly be on there local league because putting all there energy on both there local and the champions League could actually cost them a lot.

I don't fear whatever that's ahead, it's either you prepare for everything and hope you get the best out of whatever that finally comes.
Wirtz has no such plans to leave Bayern Munich this season, Yes? Because I haven't seen not read such a news. Asides Xabi Alonso in charge of Bayern Leverkusen, he needs players to help propel and carry out his ideas on the pitch.

He brings his experience of the game into his coaching and it has been done pretty well. Disappointing Europa League finals I must say that, they did deserve the trophy bit so be it. The better side who took them chances won it.
Jeremy Frimpong, Grimaldo, Granit Xhaka and Boniface who won the rookie award countless times this season.

I haven't seen thr groups yet, bit I'm sure they'll finsh top of their group in the Champions League Competition next season.
