Do you think that Leverkusen's defeat was because they underestimated Atalanta? no friend, this is the final match and anything is possible in the final match. Moreover Leverkusen is not a team that has a strong mentality when playing in the Europa League final match which has a very high mentality so I am not that surprised by what happened and also in every season The Europa League always has big surprises, and again and again this season big surprises have happened and even in the final match.
I watched the UEFA Europa League final game between Atalanta vs Bayer Leverkusen and in my own personal assessment of the game, I think the German club were too confident in that game ahd that cost them the ultimate prize. The Italian team were more determined to win that game while the German Bundesliga champions were playing like a team who's very convinced that they'll definitely win the game and even when they were two goals down, Bayer Leverkusen were still playing like they've got everything under control.
Xabi Alonso have achieved tremendous success this season but could've achieved more if he was very cautious of Atalanta in that final. Ademola Lookman who scored a hat trick in that game was simply unstoppable and that was why he was able to give Leverkusen a good run for their money.

I also watched the match since the match started but indeed, in my view Atalanta managed to have the better morale and mentality. So,  when Atalanta had the ball and attacked, at least I thought Atalanta really had a chance to win until Lookman finally got his first goal. From then on, I saw Bayer Leverkusen seem to lose their motivation and ambition because perhaps, Bayer Leverkusen were under pressure so it was difficult to get a good mood in the final match of the Europa League. At least, that's the view and or judgment that I have, so Bayer Leverkusen really failed because Bayer Leverkusen was also unable to score a goal in that match.
Bayer Leverkusen did not play like it did in the final match. Atalanta played as if it had nothing to lose. Mind you, they played like this against Liverpool and won 3-0 away. Atalanta wins stressful matches by playing comfortably and the opposing team cannot relieve the stress. He was comfortable because Leverkusen was seen as the favorite by most authorities. However, the match clearly showed us that this was not the case.

I slightly disagree with your opinion because in my opinion it is quite the opposite.
IMO, it is not Xabi troops who look very confident, but Atalanta who have so much confidence that they can break down the Leverkusen defense and also reduce the mentality of the Leverkusen players.
Do you really understand what Docnaster means?
He said, Leverkusen players are too confident, it makes them to play carelessly in the match. Even Xabi Alonso choose inappropriate starting lineup, they assume to win easily against Atalanta. Be too confident, makes Leverkusen to get a lose in the final.

Sure, Atalanta players also played with a confidence but they didn't become over confident or too confident. They played more seriously because they are not the favorite team to win the trophy. Even they didn't win the ball possessions but they can be more focused on the shot attempts. They tried to not waste any opportunity they got in the match.

If someone says Leverkusen looked good in the final match, I slightly disagree because actually Atalanta ball control is far superior with little movement but has fast attacks and Atalanta playing style is like a very experienced team and can always take the ball from Leverkusen.
Who said Leverkusen played good?
Winning the ball possessions will be nothing if it can't result in a goal.
Even if Atalanta didn't win the ball possessions, they could score 3 goals. It means Atalanta can play more effective in the match. TBH, the ball possessions is sometimes not very necessary, the most important thing is to win the match. The focus is to score goal as many as possible, we don't care whether to play a beautiful game or not.

In matches like this that means a whole lot to the club that wants victory at all cost, they shouldn’t have lost any hope even after Lookman scored the opening goal. They were under pressure and they need to contain that pressure before they can think of what to do next. They shouldn’t have lost hope even after conceding two goals, there was enough time to change the game in their favour but I think they gave up early which caused them more goals and a regrettable defeat in the whole of the season.

Bayern Leverkusen still stands strong and good for the next season. If the Europa Leage is still their calling next season, they can still play here and get more achievement. And maybe this time around, no one can stop them and they’ll triumph by that time. Their focus is the champions league now, where they’ll meet bigger teams that they might not have played with and cannot easily win. They should focus more on that and see how they can go far in that competition also against next season.

The Italian League is not just any league because the competition in this league is also quite tight, even though Atalanta is not at the top of the rankings, the technique they play is almost equivalent to the performance of clubs at the top level in other leagues. Remember when Atalanta was able to beat Liverpool, who at that time were at the top 2nd place in the Premier League, no one expected Atalanta to be able to beat Liverpool with an amazing score, so it is not impossible that Atalanta could do the same thing against Leverkusen even though this club is in first place in the Bundesliga with 0 defeats because the Bundesliga is less competitive, unlike the Italian league where the club Italian clubs are a threat in international tournaments.

I was initially doubtful when Leverkusen and Atalanta met in the Europa League final because what I feared would really be the underdog club winning the title. But this is also a lesson for bettors who want to bet their money on the Europa League international tournament because most people's predictions from the start may still be wrong and elite clubs will not necessarily perform perfectly in the European League. But if it is in the Champions League tournament, I am sure that the club that has greater strength will win this prestigious title.
The match between Leverkusen and Atalanta was already foreseen to be competitive, but Leverkusen got so vulnerable at the earliest moment of the game after the first goal was netted. Despite expectations for Leverkusen to bounce back and exert pressure on Atalanta, they got disorganized, allowing Lookman to exploit gaps and secure a crucial goal for Atalanta. This initial setback seemed to cost Leverkusen dearly, seen in Xabi's panic as they were behind by two goals before the injury time. The mounting pressure from Atalanta increased Leverkusen's struggles, giving them the ability to take control of the match.

Leverkusen has shown resilience in previous matches by series of comebacks, their efforts were broken and condemned by Atalanta's solid defense and Lookman's three winning goals in the game. Leverkusen's performance throughout the match was lacking in several areas with their attempts to outrun Atalanta's defense proving ineffective. Despite the disappointment, Xabi's efforts to lead Leverkusen to this stage should be appreciated and honored too. Atalanta's victory over Leverkusen was significant to breaking Leverkusen's unbeaten record and demonstrating their feats on the field.

In conclusion, Leverkusen's lackings in the match gave them areas for improvement, particularly in maintaining composure under pressure and breaking through resistive defenses. While the defeat is a huge loss, it's not the end for Leverkusen, and they can use this experience to regroup, learn, and come back stronger in future matches. Congratulations to Atalanta for their well-deserved victory, and for proving themselves as a formidable opponent throughout the match. Leverkusen definitely should be looking forward to their DFB pokal encounter and I'm certain it'd be an easy win for them. There and then they'd be crowned with two trophies.

Atalanta need to stop selling their important players like they sell Hojlund last season. They will play in Champions League next season, they will need to upgrade their squad depth to able to compete with top teams. Gasperini is a good tactician, he elevate Atalanta to be a tough team and have an attractive gameplay throughout his coaching career at Atalanta.
Apart from not needing to throw away the old players that Atalanta already has this season, the Atalanta team itself also needs to look at other players who are much better if they have enough funds to buy new players so they can be included in the existing squad. I am also starting to be impressed with the gameplay created by Gasperini because this was very visible when Atalanta played in the Europa League this season and also in Serie A this season. Hopefully next season things like that can continue with Atalanta so that other teams don't think of them as a weak team.

From the performance of Atalanta this season and how they farewell in all competitions to reach two finals this season and also finished above average on the league table, you won’t see them from next season as a weak team or a team not to be feared or not giving much concentration when playing against them. They have come out more prosperous than they were in the previous seasons this just concluded season and their coach will also be looking for alternatives and more suitable tactics to make them better than they are this season. When you’re counting big teams from Serie A next season, you have to include Atalanta and when you’re also counting potential teams to make it out of the first stage of the champions league to the knockout stage, you still have to include them because they’ve shown that competency as a team.

you can see how when Leverkusen is in control of the ball, then the Atalanta players can easily read the movements of the Leverkusen players and the direction of the ball wherever Atalanta can easily guess and that's all because Leverkusen confidence has dropped greatly after conceding 1 score.

another piece of evidence regarding Leverkusen not having confidence was when Amine Adli and Florian Wirtz got a very good chance but couldn't score and while it was really a very good chance they should have scored some points.
If Leverkusen self confidence and mentality are very high, Florian Wirtz chances will definitely be 1 score and Leverkusen will be able to provide resistance.
but the facts are very bad, right? conceded 3 scores without reply and confidence means nothing for Leverkusen.

Leverkusen should have been cautious in advance and should have taken Atalanta as a tough opponent and planned accordingly and then taken the field against this team. Where they beat one of the league favorites by a wide margin, they certainly have a good chance of progressing to the finals if they think about it and plan better against them, the match might not have turned out like this.

Leverkusen lost a big match and the margin of defeat there was huge. If Leverkusen had lost another match before the final, their performance might have been better, but they lost a match from which they had no chance of coming back. But every big team must learn from here because no team is small as an opponent, any team can advance against any team at any time.
The final match of course had a different atmosphere than other games including the semi-finals, every team that reached the final was not a team to be underestimated and I think at that time Leverkusen also did not underestimate Atlanta so they lost, Leverkusen fielded their main squad in the game and even since the game started they continued to press the Atlanta defense with high pressure,  But indeed the mentality possessed by Atlanta was actually better in the game, although Leverkusen controlled the game but Atlanta with their tactics and game scheme was more effective in attacking, if you look at Atlanta's game at that time surely you know if Atlanta did not try to control the ball for too long, when the ball was obtained by midfielders and defender players, the ball was directly sent to Scamacca in the front line and made Leverkusen difficult to build regained their defense.

Even though they lost the game, Leverkusen was still able to present a pretty good game in my opinion, but unfortunately the quick counterattack scheme and also the long ball from Atlanta actually made Leverkusen players a little panicked in suppressing the surprise that Atlanta gave, besides that we can see that the mentality possessed by Leverkusen in the final match was not as good as when they faced ordinary matches and even in the DFB final it was also clear if Their mentality was quite affected even though they finally won with a score of 1-0 over the Bundesliga 2 team.

Atlanta seems to understand that their chances of winning the trophy in Serie A are very difficult, so when they lose the opportunity to win the Coppa Italia trophy certainly makes Atlanta focus all their attention on the Europa League, the different performance between the league and also the Europa League is certainly not the most surprising thing for us especially at that time Atlanta had already claimed a place in the Champions League through a position in the standings if indeed they Failing to win the Europa League trophy, many of us here are indeed surprised by Atlanta ability to destroy Leverkusen who have been unbeaten and that is the beauty of football in my opinion.

I think that was a good strategy from Gasperini, maybe Leverkusen was fooled when they saw Atalanta being defeated by Juventus who as we know they play inconsistently in the domestic league, since that defeat in the Coppa Italia final made Leverkusen feel confident to beat Atalanta in the UEL final yesterday, but instead they were surprised and Xabi Alonso didn't even expect that his players barely moved so their self-confidence dropped and in the end they conceded three goals without reply, it was quite a humiliating defeat, especially in the final match.

Even though yesterday's UEL final was Leverkusen's first defeat this season, of course it was a defeat that might be difficult for Leverkusen to forget, apart from that, Xabi Alonso might be able to avenge that defeat next season if there is a meeting with Atalanta in the UCL, it would certainly be an interesting meeting. between the two, I am sure that xabi alonso will improve what is lacking in the main squad because this defeat will make him stronger next season, Leverkusen will enter a higher level of course also Atalanta will play in the UCL next season, it is clear that both will be teams that can taken into account.

Many football analysts say that high press man-to-man marking is a tactic commonly used by most teams in Serie A and Gasperini applied it in the UEL final. Leverkusen played flexibly and placed many players in the opponent's defense line when in attacking positions. And the high press man-to-man marking tactic was very effective in reducing Leverkusen's playing style. Leverkusen players also only have average individual skills so by applying high pressure to each player they are unable to create many chances even though they have 70% possession of the ball. So the result of the match that night was not a coincidence, but it was a genius tactic implemented by Gasperini. Because of this, Atalanta and Gasperini deserve to be champions of the European League this season.

Gasperini managed to make Atalanta win the Europa League after eliminating two strong clubs with a score of 3-0, Liverpool and Leverkusen became victims of the ferocity of Gasperini troops. Even though its performance in Serie A was not as consistent as Inter Milan and AC Milan, which managed to finish in first and second place, Atalanta was able to show great performance in the Europa League. Atalanta has the right to appear in the UEFA Super Cup after winning the Europa League trophy, they will be challenged by the team that won the Champions League.

The full trust of Atlanta so far in Gasperini certainly bears quite sweet results, Gasperini has been in Atlanta for almost about 7 years, even though Atlanta never won at all and even only managed to qualify for the Europa League but still Gasperini is still trusted by Atlanta management to become a coach, so it is time for Gasperini to repay Atlanta with his loyalty by staying in Atlanta after winning his first trophy this season, Gasperini, who managed to conquer a strong team like Liverpool and also break Leverkusen unbeaten record, of course, began to be the target of several teams to recruit him to be a coach.

Atalanta should never be underestimated. They won against Liverpool with the same score. It is not easy to beat them 3-0 in England. They eliminated them and then shattered Leverkusen, who had been unbeaten for more than 50 matches, in the final. Atalanta had a great tournament. We need to praise them and hope that they form a better squad next year. They will also face the Champions League champion in the Super Cup. It will be a great surprise if they win that too.

Leverkusen couldn't believe what they saw, they actually thought Atalanta was a team they could override, but the opposite happened to them, ending their unbeaten record in Europe and Europa league's competition. It was a big dissappointment to them, but they have to accept it the way they saw it,think of next season, recruit more players so the team can have squad depth because they are entering into a very tough competition, which is the Champions league, and I think in my opinion, that if they can keep all their players intact, they will do well.
That's why it's not good to underestimate what has never happened. To be honest, I was very surprised by the Leverkusen last match with the way they pressured their opponents and how people were proud of them that Leverkusen is an unbeaten team this season, but a big disappointment from them. But Shal, they still have a record since they were able to keep the record this season since they started the season and nobody was able to defeat them until the season came to an end.

Morever, I have hope for them that next season they may do better and also break a record in the European League. Atlanta is looking like a team that will not move forward or perform well, but with the effort they put in, they make everything possible against any of their opponents and dominate the match.

Bad news to Manchester United fans for their team opportunity participants at UEFA Europe League next season.

Manchester United success getting UEFA Champion League ticket for next season after winning the FA Cup final match and make Chelsea who finish on Europe League spot have relegated for participating in UEFA Conference League next season. However, Manchester United has non-technical problems because one of Manchester United's shareholders, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has 23% stake in Ligue 1 team Nice, which has tickets to participate in the Europe League next season.

UEFA has strict rules regarding the prohibition of two clubs with the same ownership from participating in the UEFA Europe League and this provision means that Manchester United will have to play in the UEFA Conference League next season if Sir Jim Ratcliffe does not release his share ownership with Nice. It's a very difficult choice for Sir Jim Ratcliffe at the moment and he is looking for a solution so that both teams can participate in the UEFA Europe League next season.

Am I the only one who feels that but I'm sure before the match started, the Leverkusen squad was already on par with Atalanta, Atalanta is not the strongest team in the Italian league but they have a lot of secrets and indeed the team from the Italian league is not an easy team to beat, this Atalanta won should be a valuable lesson for Leverkusen, especially since they currently have strong competitiveness in every international league competition, next season Leverkusen will not play in the European League, they have already moved up to the Champions League but Atalanta still has the opportunity to play in the European League.

The key was located on the gasperini in the last game of europa league this season. His strategy was particularly efficient in avoiding leverkusen from building up the attack, it makes leverkusen players frustrated with it. This is also making it difficult for Leverkusen to even reach the penalty box and leverkusen tries to made some long shoots with the hope it can go straight to the goal keeper. Look at the statistics. It is apparent that Gasperini was the driving force behind Atlanta's victory.
The Italian club has more options for preventing the club from building up from the bottom. This is what Gasperini did in his last game. Xabi did not even have an alternative technique for this.

Leverkusen players are also finding it difficult to leave from Atalanta players, this is also helping atalanta to isolate the leverkusen in that game. This is what occurs when you have average players who aren't innovative enough to avoid getting marked by their opponents.
Leverkusen did not have somebody who could perform what Real Madrid did against Manchester City.

Leverkusen dominated possession of the ball throughout the Europa League final, they also continued to try to build attacks even though they ultimately failed to score a single goal. Leverkusen's defense was really bad in that match, of course this was what Atalanta took advantage of to find a goal.
Yes, Leverkusen won the ball possession. If we learn their formation and the players chosen as starting lineup, it was clear they planned to dominate the ball possession since the early of the match. But Xabi Alonso forget that with no pure striker in the attacking line, it will be harder to score goals. Moreover, they were playing against Atalanta which has a strong defense. As the result, they scored 0 goal in the match. For me, it was a wrong tactic applied by Xabi Alonso. He was too focused on dominating the ball possession.

Here is one of the YT channels that also reviews of the lose of Leverkusen, they also stated that Xabi did a wrong lineup dan choose not proper tactics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sO8woR1NTA

I wouldn't say that Atalanta's win in the final was lucky. Atalanta is really trying hard to create history in the Europa League and this title is their first title in elite competition. Atalanta have improved in recent seasons, but this season they managed to prove themselves and win the title. Of course it is worth giving high appreciation to Atalanta, but not to say Leverkusen was bad for their defeat.
It is strange if someone says it was a lucky. Atalanta players did their hard efforts to win the match. Scoring 3 goals is also a proof that they won the match with brilliant strategy. For me, it is about the strategy, Atalanta can apply a more effective strategy. Atalanta used a more offensive strategy and they play more aggressively. These are the reasons why Atalanta can win the match. All of them are reasonable efforts, there is no term of 'luck' on the result.  Smiley
