This weekend's fight was really sad to watch. Michel was simply exhausted, very tired and couldn't overcome his opponent. I expected much more than what he showed. I expected a show, but we didn't even have a fight.
Pereira is a fighter who explodes in the first few rounds but if he doesn't get his opponent out of there early he runs out of energy fast.
He hurt Hernandez with that front kick in the first few minutes of the fight but he recovered.
That is what I was saying. He is like a stone guy who is made out of rock. He can wear you out as he did with Michel with his wrestling.
It was easy 1.70x odds for Fluffy to win in that UFC Fight Night's main event.

Let's move on to the next UFC 308: Ilia Topuria vs Max Holloway at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.

I like the match too.

Pereira looking to continue his winning streak and Hernandez is taking the chance to win more after a long rest. Number 13 and  14 in the middleweight rankings. This could become an entertaining fight.

How about the co-main event? Rob Font? I didn't know he would still fight, I thought he retired. Well, here he is now ready to fight again after almost a year of rest. But he is aged, that's the problem and his opponent is a young active dude Kyler Phillips. I think this could also become a good match if Kyler will be aggressive and make Font start those engines again like how he battled with known fighters like Aldo, Vera and Sandhagen.

I will bet on Michel Pereira and Kyler Phillips.
The undercard bouts are just about done.
Nicolau is fighting quite well against Almadayev who was set to dominate this fight but into the second round hasn't done much yet with no ground time where his fighting style is put on display.

Rob Font could go one of two ways: He can get a quick knockout or he will get knocked out several times and get back up.

As for who I think will win for the main fight tonight, I will go will Fluffy Hernandez.
The guy is built like a boulder and it will take many hard punches and elbows for Michel to knock him out.

I really hope that Michel Pereira puts on a show and gets a great victory in this fight. I will bet on him without a doubt, he has everything to be a great champion and he is the kind of fighter who is good to watch, you get nervous, laugh a few times and are impressed, all in a matter of seconds. Literally a show of fighting and entertainment.

Michel Pereira vs. Anthony Hernandez will be a great fight to watch, one of the best on this card. Michel is the kind of fighter who always gives his best no matter what happens. That's why I like him so much, and he always does different things, he goes beyond the ordinary.

This is another one of his great ideas. I believe that he should have some percentage of the PPV for every fight because it's always the same thing. It doesn't make sense for him to be this character all the time, the only reason I see is money.

Isn't it funny how having no funds to place a bet saved you from making a huge mistake in taking the 1.32x favorite?
If I didn't do an all-in on him in a parlay with Gorimbo would still have that $500 for this weekend's fight night.
As Fluffy Hernandez has always been a good fighter so this matchup against Michel Pereira if he wins will make him a great fighter.
But is this not what we were all saying about Tatsuro?

It was another wild weekend for the "Who will Conor fight next?" speculation drum being beat.
First announcement of his next fight being against Dan Hooker which was just him shouting something to a reporter while walking away. So not even face to face with anyone on the mic. But the MMA media yet again took it as fact.
Then asking for a fight with Mike Perry on another podcast with the Schimo.
While on a substance (either drunk or coked up again after BKFC) called out KSI on a rap song he made saying it was horrible and saying he wanted to fight him next.
He is someone not to take his word for scheduling a fight seriously as he is usually doing it purely for publicity purposes or now that allegations of a court date against an accuser is looming, he is using it as a dodging tactic.
As these two youtubers describe what all this outlandish behavior in Spain during BKFC was all about:

Conor McGregor's Coke-Fueled BKFC Weekend

It GOT WORSE For Conor McGregor - by Red Pill MMA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVYdszEzqNA
Is it just me or is McGregor doing everything he can to get exposure in the media? A few weeks ago we would never have talked about him as much as we have been talking about him in the last few months. He is literally increasing engagement for his side.
Thought it was crystal clear on why he is wanting to announce fights and keep in the public eye.
It is due to the sexual assault allegations against him and if he is scheduled for a fight he can't have the court case go to trial until he is not scheduled to fight.
So it is all smoke and mirrors with him and any future fights.
Both those youtube videos I linked discussed about this already.

It's a close fight.

https://www.ufc.com/news/official-judges-scorecards-ufc-fight-night-royval-vs-taira

One judge actually saw that Taira won that fight and I think both fighters did show some toughness. It's hard to predict who will win that match and although I lost my bet, I am really happy to see how the competitive spirit of Taira was all there against the veteran Royval.

Taira mostly scored with his successful takedowns and submission attempts while Royval in striking successfully. Still, he cannot knock out young Taira and this proves how strong his chin is.
I think that's one heck of a great fight night.

The Caliber of Brandon Royval's takedown defense proves how witty he is in defending Taira's takedowns but maybe Tatsuro was just tired and was having a hard time with Royval but we are just guessing all of this for now as for sure the camp of Taira can improve this for him the kid is still young and had a future in this sports but you are right that the fight was pretty much close but Taira will show spirit inside the octagon for sure he can still improve and move on forward.

It was really funny that I was saved because I don't have any in me right now but I was surprised that the kid still has a fight in him and have shown the veteran Brandon Royval that he should not underestimate Tatsuro Taira the next time they had their rematch because this kid is really something with his takedowns and offering him to honed his skills is a good thing to say that Royval really respect Taira and the kid surely have a bright future ahead of him,

, I think that we are just wasting time on Connor McGregor as there are a lot of exciting fighters in the division that need attention even though he is the hype king giving people this kind of false hope to see McGregor inside the ring again as this is how good McGregor is in giving anyone that hype, but let's see if he really end up in the BKFC that is good for him because I don't really care anymore.

Tiara didn't contest though so maybe he also felt like judges would see his successful takedowns as just takedowns but not doing much damage. It used to be a good measure of winning points since the one who took down means he has ground control. That must have been old judge rules anymore.

Taira made Royval's life very difficult in this fight. If I were to judge it, he would win several rounds. What Taira has to Improve is his utilizing elbows and pounding on the ground.  He could have won this fight.

I didn't end up watching the fight, but from the images I saw, they were great fights. Not as good as other cards, but they were average for fight nights. I expect more from the next cards, but at least we already have announcements of good fights coming, so we're moving the belts.

The main event was a huge upset for Tatsuro but many of the youtubers were foreseeing this and cashed in on a Royval win including MMAGuru & MMA Expert who said Brandon was going to win even if he was over 3.40x odds.
So good on those who took a Royval win seeing Taira is still young coming in at 24 years old so still has alot to learn when it comes to a five round fight.
Royval wanted to see if he can be the backup towards the Alexandre Pantoja bout against Kai and even said he will fight at 310 if the UFC will allow it. No wonder they call him the raw dog.

About McGregor, he doubled the bonuses right after the fights at BKFC this weekend. Is he still high on that coked out livestream because this announcement for him wanting to fight Dan Hooker sure does sound like it.
But there is a set date of Feburary 1st. According to the article they just talked about it.

For sure I would bet for Tatsuro Taira aswell but it was a good thing that I didn't get to bet for this fight as I was out of funds right now, and I have seen some that will surely go with Royval in this fight and I can not blame them as Brandon Royval was exposed to the likes of Alexandre Pantoja and his recent great win against Brandon Moreno and because of this experience with most of this encounter he has seen a great counter against Taira but the kid is really something and for Sure Brandon Royval have already seen it that Tatsuro is really something aswell and some have said that it was also a robbery because Taira has won some rounds it was really a back and forth performance both did a great job for sure but for me, I really think that both did a great job it was really a close one and I don't want to be biased on Taira for this fight.

I watched today the fight as I've missed it and I must agree with you. It was by far the hardest fight Pereira had in UFC so far but he is such a great fighter that no matter how hard you push him in first rounds , he will eventually over power you and win the fight and that was the case with his fight against Rountree.  I'm also very curious to see how long can Pereira hold the belt because no one seems to be able to take it from him now.

It was really expected but when Alex Pereira's camp revealed that Pereira has health issues man to think he performed this well while having something like that he is a different beast but for sure Khalil Roundtree is also a different beast and could be a great gatekeeper in this division I might say if Alex Pereira can level up his playing field and go beyond this division maybe Roundtree could become champion aswell but for now I want to see an Alex Pereira VS Magomed Ankalaev fight but maybe in the future as Magomed Ankalaev will have his fight against Aleksandar Rakic in the UFC 308 but if Pereira would go in a higher division early maybe a Tom Aspinall fight is Jon Jones don't want to fight Aspinall that will be a great card to see.

I believe this was Poatan's most difficult fight, Rountree is faster and even managed to land several significant blows on Pereira, but when he got tired, he realized that his entire body was already marked.

This was the first lost fight for Tatsuro Taira in his MMA pro carrier, but some wont agree with that after split decision win for Brandon Royval.
I saw Royval is now asking for a title fight in his next fight but I think it is early for that, and there are better fighters in flyweight division.

Conor McGregor says he has plans to fight with Dan Hooker in Saudi Arabia after a years break since 2021, and they both agree.
Now UFC is on the move.

This guy had been the apple of the eye since that live stream and most of his comments on different champions of the sport.
Did Conor McGregor Violate UFC Rules with Million Dollar Gamble?
https://www.lowkickmma.com/conor-mcgregor-violate-ufc-rules/
Quote
“I couldn’t pick a winner until the fight started, but I just knew there was going to be a KO,” McGregor posted after the fight. “A million on a KO by either fighter at 1/5. Good bet! $200,000 profit! NICE!!!”
I am glad he made some good money from that fight. I also know there will be a KO but I didn't see any option where you could bet for a KO only. Most sports bookies are offering when the match will end or who is going to win his pick must be from a different bookie.
But here comes the problem.
Quote
It was a nice 200k pickup for the Irish megastar. However, per a memo sent to athletes in October 2022, UFC fighters are prohibited from gambling on any UFC fight, regardless of whether they are involved or not.
You can't bet on any fight and that's the truth.
Every sport is trying to punish those who will do this to avoid inside jobs. Whether he made the bet or not (his family or relative, if it's proven that the money came from him then it going to give him a lot of trouble. Sports managements are trying to avoid this to keep the sport clean and I think McGregor will say he ain't the one fighting but if it's a contract that he should not bet at any means then it's still wrong.
Anyway, we have Brandon Royval versus Tatsuro Taira later. Who is your pick? I pick the younger guy who is trying to climb the higher heights. Taira will win this!
With Conor's bet on Duelbits he is their ambassador so it is for advertising purposes. So I think I read in the UFC rules on this those whose sponsored are allowed to bet on UFC matches just not their own.
Also his interview with the Shimo last week it sure sounds like he won't be fighting in the UFC anymore and going to be fighting in his own MMA organization BKFC which he is part owner of.

Guys early prelims already started so you can tune in and watch this UFC event live now.
This is not the most entertaining fight card on paper but I think main even is going be exciting to watch.
Tatsuro Taira has a perfect MMA record with 16 wins, but odds are to low on him to win.
The five fights are for the main card so after this Pearce vs Sabatini fight then the prelims should be done.
There was three miss weights but I think those fighters were during the prelims.
As for who I am seeing winning is Tatsuro of course. Wink

And some more exciting news for you @notblox1 and Kai was the other Asian fighter I was thinking of from my earlier post on who Dana wanted to come into the UFC to face-off with Taira.
