Dana white seems to be teasing everyone with the wait to announce UFC 300 headline event,
He said he MAYBE will announce it at the post UFC 298 conference
Many people think its certainly involving mc gregor, but dana doesnt seem to be any hurry to confirm anything.
Yeah, he said that in an interview with Kevin Iole.
https://www.mmanews.com/news/dana-white-on-when-announce-ufc-300-main-event
A video of the interview is included in the link.
Quote
In a recent interview with Kevin Iole, White shared his plan to announce the UFC 300 main event immediately after UFC 298 on Saturday.
I really thought he would announce it during the Super Bowl commercial but it didn't happen. Frustrating but maybe he thought its a waste of money.
A lot of MMA fans are impatient and I think Dana White saw that and that's why he needs to announce it as soon as possible before it gets crazy.
Quote
UFC Middleweight Champion Dricus du Plessis could feature in the main event against Israel Adesanya. After initially hinting at a multiple-year hiatus, Adesanya has pivoted on that proclamation and wants to return sometime in 2024.
I want to see this happen.
Dana White may have been meeting with these two and I bet they will be both ready at that time. The Stylebender had been training nonstop and I think he is also growing impatient to get back his belt one more time against Du Plessis.
I am a bit excited and scared about the upcoming lineup of UFC 300. I mean, what if it's not a satisfactory line? That will be frustrating. I hope he is taking this seriously because the expectations are high.
All this is for hyping up the card and he is the master of doing it.
Nothing more.

You see during this presser right at the end Jon Anik mentioned they will have a press conference for UFC 300.
So they are hyping it up even more during these two main event before they are done?
They have been saying Dana will mention it during this and then nothing. It is just how he has everything on his side and he can promote the hell out of it all he wants at this point.
Even to the point people are analyzing the UFC 300 poster released a few days ago and have determined it definitely has to be Dricus due to the person's profile holding that flag having no tattoos on his arms.

UFC 298 Press Conference is going to be a good one to watch live. You know fighters with the likes of Ian Garry and Paulo Costa being in attendance up on stage, there are bound to be big and loud taunting going on.

Starting in a few hours we will have what should kick-off a monumental UFC main event:
UFC 298: Pre-Fight Press Conference
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3ORoTVxxDY

Watched a couple of interviews with Topuria and he is very confident in his improvement with every fight.
From the fights I had watched he got knocked out once by Youssef Zalal in Abu Dhabi on fight island.

This is the biggest UFC event so far this year and yeah I know, the year just started, but it is true! Wink

Was wanting to watch this tactical breakdown on this main event from TheWeasle since it was released earlier in the week. But only had time to start watching it right now before heading out for the day.
So here it is:
How Ilia Topuria BEATS Alexander Volkanovski - TheWeasle

Also noticed this video while looking for the previous one which seems well put together about The Matador:

There is also a spot by ESPN on probably a sneak preview of the upcoming documentary they plan on making of his uprise in the UFC:

Yeah I agree with you there with Dan Ige having that big knockout to Andre Fili earning his nickname 50k Ige.
After the fight you can hear Andre telling him he didn't want to fight but, then it cut to commercial.
I would imagine he was about to say he needed to fight him to get up to the next rung on the latter.
Ige knew this but wanted to teach him a lesson with the sparring sessions they had earlier, he wasn't going to be pulling his punches this time. This is a real fight.
And he delivered with a lethal blow and a nice punch at the end to prove his point to the young fighter.

So no release of the main event fight for 300 yet. But many are speculating it could be Leon Edwards vs Khamzat Chimaev.
This would make sense because seeing Chimaev fight in the US is shocking since he had troubles entering into the country prior. And with Edwards as the current champion this would make for a solid main event for UFC 300.
First heard about this watching the MMAFightingonSBN hour earlier but it is making traction on other channels such as  on the MMA World:

Jack Hermansson did great on his takedown defense. He didn't even let any attempt of Joe Pyfer succeed. At the end of the round, it was Hermansson who took down Pyfer and seal the win. Those jabs of him are legit. Very accurate and he can attack Pyfer in the long distance.

Here are the results of the UFC Fight Night.
Jack Hermansson defeated Joe Pyfer by unanimous decision.
Dan Ige defeated Andre Fili with a KO at 2:43 of Round 1. - This was awesome. One punch man! He added a hammer fist but it's obviously done. Did not even wait for the referee to stop him, he must've felt it with his fist on how strong the punch was.
Ihor Potieria defeated  Robert Bryczek by unanimous decision.
Gregory Rodrigues defeated Brad Tavares by KO/TKO in Round 3.
Michael Johnson defeated Darrius Flowers by unanimous decision.
Rodolfo Vieira defeated Armen Petrosyan by submission in Round number 1.

That's one heck of a fight night thanks to Dan Ige. He made it more entertaining even though there's not much crowd that will cheer for him. It could've been a loud "Whoa" if that fight was somewhere more crowded. I loved it.

Doubt that rohang as that would be difficult to arrange with Zuckerberg being infront of congress for the social media offenses he is getting blamed for.
So it might be a while for Dana to do anything with him and Musk. But it would make for a build up the hype then rug pull the fans.

With all the excitement going on in Vegas there is a UFC event many had put on the side.

Here are the face-offs which finished about 6 hours ago:

And here are the markets for those fights:
https://sportsbet.io/sports/mma/ufc/ufc-fight-night-hermansson-vs-pyfer/matches

Want to see how the main event plays out because then it could possibly bring on Bo Nickel as an opponent.
As one podcast had mentioned earlier, Khamzat vs Rakhmonov would be the mirror opposite of these two forces colliding.

There are so many conspiracy theories going out on the internet for UFC 300 after Dricus Du Plessis's win against Sean Strickland. It should be Adesanya nothing more and I know it will be big so Dana White must as well make that happen. It's in April so I am guessing DDP is already healed by then.
Doubtful after Dricus says he isn't going to do it and since he's the champ now he will be the one to decide. Doubt this too since Dana is the one who puts on the fights.
But we will have to wait and see.
It might not be such a long wait from what many are speculating that Dana White will make an announcement for what the main event will be on some commercial during the Superbowl this Sunday and some are just running with this instead. But he did say the announcement will blow everybodys minds, so I doubt it will be this one.
Imagine if he says Zuck vs Musk, as he has been seen meeting with both of them prior to the Las Vegas engagement.
At this point it all speculation and running on hype and that is just how the CEO of the UFC rolls.

Talking about the getting onto the hypetrain! Grin

Benoit Saint Denis shares his side of Dustin Poirier fight announcement drama

BSD training in Bulgaria to polish his wrestling skills.
Quote
A five-round lightweight matchup between Saint Denis and former interim UFC champion Poirier has been announced for UFC 299 on March 9 in Miami, but the bout only became official this month. In January, UFC CEO Dana White informally announced the matchup, which led to some confusion when Poirier recently tweeted that the fight was off. Within hours of Poirier’s tweet, the bout was publicly confirmed by the UFC, and Poirier chalked up the situation to “miscommunication.”
BSD was happy about the decision, he knows Dustin Poirier is a tough guy but he is ready for anyone.

https://x.com/DustinPoirier/status/1753101542411145675?s=20
Then he tweeted this afterward.

https://x.com/DustinPoirier/status/1753168340233703856?s=20

All just a little drama. The fight is on! It's a good thing that BSD's coach kept on telling him to just train and not be disoriented by all this drama outside. It's happening, he will just have to focus on polishing all his skills.

Renato Moicano has had his face plastered all over MMA social media since his call outs to the UFC too.

Listen to his last interview on the MMAFightingonSBN yesterday.
He dissects everything he has been thinking of before and after this win over the weekend. It explains alot of how he is today even how small his channel is on youtube, so that fight was a lifting platform for his own benefit, Good for him as he deserves it with all the sh*t he had to endure from everybody who didn't think he would win from his ring rust begin away from the octagon for so long:

First, I hated fights with no crowd. It's just sad. We ain't in Covid-19 anymore. Just use the damn big places and sell some tickets. And correct, it's like a sparring match, not a real one. I mean, as a television watcher I also find joy in the cheer of the crowd while watching the fight.

Very true and good on moicano for openly talking about it

First round, I don't know why referee Herb Dean didn't stop that, it was almost clear that it was over with all those nasty hammer punches but I think he saw something that we didn't see which is why he decided to let it continue. Other referees would probably just end it there and give Imavov the win.

Second round, nothing much. It's like Dolidze trying to make Imavov his prom dance in a sweet tune. Cheesy Time spent in a clinch is longer than boxing.

The third round is still for Imavov.

Fourth round, this is where it gets surprising. About that hand on the mat to avoid being kicked, or a knee, it's wrong. Now, they are using it as a strategy whenever an opponent is behind them. How many times did Dolidze use that? 4 times maybe? And it's like the dominant fighter is being paralyzed because he cannot do anything about it.

Fifth round. Do imagine if Herb Dean called that kick another bad shot because the hands are down again? It could've jeopardized all of Imavov's hard work. He was lucky there was a millisecond difference when Dolidze pulled that arm up. Either he will be disqualified or that one more point will make a difference.

UFC must look deeply into this kind of rule and make sure referees will have the memo.

@YuginKadoya
It was one of the worst UFC events so far into the year, as many have stated already.
The only saving grace was the Moicano post fight interview.

As that was the only thing which was getting any traction and replay from this rather disappointing engagement and some are saying they rather see none, if at the Apex. Even Renato was saying it was like having a heavy sparring session fighting there, this very true since there are no crowds like at the main event venues every other week.
The main fight was not any good either and the octagon referee didn't know the difference of the rule for Vegas and the events outside of the Apex.
Which took a point away where it didn't need to be since Imavov looked at him to make sure he knew the rule of a downed opponent before striking him.

@owengtam09
Atleast none of your selections lost since that No Contest was considered a void for your bet.

Listening to Renato Moicano after the fight where he was healing from an injury for over a year and a half makes sense of where he sees the UFC heading to since his absence.
The shout out to MMA Guru was pretty funny since the way he was portraying it he was roasting him live on air but infact they have been poking fun at each other for the past year because they are UFC youtubers who call out each other for awhile now. So it was all for show. As they say.

here are the results for the UFC Dolidze vs. Imavov it was a surprising result Imavov was really dominant during the entire fight against Dolidze Nassourdine Imavov is a beast when it comes to his accuracy with his striking and I was really amazed at total domination the whole fight, now here is the result with my pick and prediction

Renato Moicano (1.52) VS Drew Dober (2.55) - WIN

Great job for Moicano but it was a close match and he is looking slow what controlled the fight was his takedown and control with those clinches, while Drew Dober is great with the stand-up he was not wise when it comes to the ground fight and Renato Moicano have gotten him with the ground and pound, 2 near submission attempts but for sure Dober just manage to get out from those, but because of those wrestling game Renato Moicano had the edge in this fight but his performance is not a title contender one so if he would fight for the Belt he will likely lose,

Randy Brown (1.37) VS Muslim Salikhov (3.10) - WIN

This was a very quick and one-sided fight it was round 1 that Muslim Salkhov found the canvas, it was a fast-paced fight, and because of Randy Brown's reach, height, and speed advantage he won this fight a fast pace, you can already see for Muslim Salikhov that he was too slow in this fight, that maybe his age is really getting on in him, but it was a one-sided fight,

Aliaskhab Khizriev (1.67) VS Makhmud Muradov (2.22) - NO CONTEST

I was frustrated with the result of this fight it was a no contest because of that Eye Poke, for sure it was an accident that Aliaskhab Khizriev landed that eye poke on Makhmud Muradov, Makhmud Muradov was getting ready to move forward or duck from the punch was his eye was hit because his head was moving forward and eventually it was caught into collision with Khizriev's hands,

So much has happened in the UFC Fight Night: Dolidze vs. Imavov and it was really unfortunate that I didn't make a bet for that fight it was a majority decision for Nassourdine Imavov it was crazy he was on point with his striking and he surely outpaces Roman Dolidze in every way possible and seeing that but even though Nassourdine Imavov win this one that penalty on the head kick while Roman Dolidze was likely 1 hand on the ground for sure this rule should be abolished by the UFC as this is really irritating as some fighters are likely using it on their advantage for sure Aljamain Sterling winning against Petr Yan in this method, for me this should be abolished by the UFC,

Now on to the result of the fights for my bets

Renato Moicano VS Drew Dober ROUND 3 DECISION - WIN

Renato Moicano is such a chad, calling out The MMA Guru while he was on an interview on ESPN inside the octagon after he won the fight against Drew Dober, for sure MMA Guru was loving it here is the video of their MMA Guru's reaction, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WWUWwYSg2AA for this fight on round 1 Moicano was looking weird on his feet and slower than Dober, but Moicano did a ground and pound strikes and a near rear naked choke to Dober, but on the 2nd round Drew Dober did hurt Moicano on the feet while the 2nd round I think was to Drew Dober and Moicano was leaking blood all over for sure Dober was pretty much good at his stand-up but Moicano was great in his ground game and that submission attempts for sure it that connects he can get through, but yeah Renato Moicano was saved because of his takedowns and wrestling for sure,

Randy Brown VS Muslim Salikhov ROUND 1 KO/TKO - LOST

I was wrong with this prediction I really thought that Muslim Salkhov still had it inside of him but it was Randy Brown all along Muslim Salikhov looks really slow while the reach of Randy Brown was really his bread and butter his striking was also awesome even though it was a TKO win for Randy Brown many is not expecting this kind of result even me I wasn't really expecting for Muslim Salikhov to be out like that Randy Brown was really so smooth with his striking,

Aliaskhab Khizriev VS Makhmud Muradov ROUND 1 EYE POKE - NO CONTEST

That eye poke really ruined my bet and it ruined the whole fight Aliaskhab Khizriev made an accidental poke on Makhmud Muradov's eye, for sure Aliaskhab Khizriev's hand was held high getting the feel on their distance while Muradov attacked and lowered his head that caused the eye poked so it was an accidental eye poked and it is really a bummer when a fight ended like this for sure it was a bad ending for a fight to be, and not really expecting this to happen,

My pick for the UFC Fight Night: is Dolidze vs. Imavov and right now the Main Event is not available for the Stake.com site,

Renato Moicano VS Drew Dober

Right now Renato Moicano has some decent striking and wrestling while Drew Dober has great striking for sure he has grappling but I really think he doesn't scramble with certain wrestlers yet and it is more accurate to say that Renato Moicano has the wrestling capacity to defeat Drew Dober in the ground for some reason I really don't trust Drew Dober's Striking so far but Renato Moicano got decent striking for sure and I trust that so for this fight my pick will be Renato Moicano,

Randy Brown VS Muslim Salikhov

For me, Muslim Salikhov has some great kicks and even has decent striking for sure While Randy Brown boasts superior striking range and a diverse set of tools on the feet, particularly with elbows and knees, the preference leans toward Salikhov in the grappling department for this fight. Despite Brown's proficiency in standing exchanges, Salikhov is considered a more solid grappler, likely to emphasize grappling throughout the match. Salikhov's arsenal includes not only nasty kicks but also a well-rounded ground game, both defensively and offensively. Considering these factors, I think I will go with the advantage on the range, and because Salikhov is getting older my pick is Randy Brown,

Aliaskhab Khizriev VS Makhmud Muradov

Both athletes showcase not only adept wrestling techniques but also impressive striking accuracy. However, a potential concern for Muradov lies in his endurance, raising questions about whether his gas tank can endure until the fight's conclusion. Despite this, considering the overall skill set, my choice for this bout leans towards Makhmud Muradov, With a skillful combination of striking and offensive wrestling, Makhmud Muradov poses a formidable challenge for Aliaskhab Khizriev. The fight promises an intriguing ground battle, given both fighters' proficiency in wrestling, making it a captivating aspect to watch, but for me, I will go with the favorite my pick is Aliaskhab Khizriev,

My Bet and Prediction for the UFC Fight Night: Dolidze vs. Imavov event, I haven't seen the Roman Dolidze VS Nassourdine Imavov fight on the Stake.com button Sportsbet.io you can clearly see their fight, and because I haven't seen the Roman Dolidze VS Nassourdine Imavov and make a bet on that card I will surely go with the other cards

Renato Moicano VS Drew Dober

The odds for this fight are 1.52 for Renato Moicano and 2.55 for Drew Dober, I think that Renato Moicano had some advantage when it comes to grappling compared to Drew Dober, and even though Drew Dober has power in his striking it is not comparable with the likes of Rafael Fiziev that really hits like a truck and is a fancy good striker but Renato Moicano has some great striking he fights the likes of Chase Hooper, Jai Herbert, Rafael dos Anjos, and Brad Riddell so for sure he also got a decent experience for sure so my pick is Renato Moicano.

Randy Brown VS Muslim Salikhov

The odds for this fight are 1.37 for Randy Brown and 3.10 for Muslim Salikhov, For this fight Randy Brown has a better range than Salikhov he has a ton of tools on the feet with elbows and knees for sure he is great with his standing but for this fight, I don't really think he is a solid grappler I still prefer Salikhov for sure he will be grappling more than Brown and Salikhov also have those nasty kicks but even though he also got good striking but his ground game for sure are both good at defense and offense so for me My pick is Muslim Salikhov.

Aliaskhab Khizriev VS Makhmud Muradov

The odds for this fight are 1.67 for Aliaskhab Khizriev and 2.22 for Makhmud Muradov, Right now Makhmud Muradov has great striking and also has offensive wrestling that could be a great asset against Aliaskhab Khizriev, but this is a great fight to watch as both fighters had good wrestling this is the battle on the ground and who has the most better technique with his wrestling will win but both fighters also have good striking and both are accurate aswell, for sure my only concern for Makhmud Muradov if he has a great gas tank that could reach the end of the fight for overall my pick for this fight is Makhmud Muradov.
