now 4:40 gmt - NF still 16
Just checked - 7:30 GMT - utc14.yacoin.club is working on NF14. The pool is finding blocks successfully.

Thanks for your help as ever Alenevaa...

I think I understand...but what I don't understand is, will there then be two different 'types' of utc? Which will be incompatible with each other?
What will then be the best coin? Could there in theory be two different prices for utc?

Cheers,

Sorry folks, also meant to ask:

Do I need to adjust any settings in my miner, to connect it to the new pool, or will it know to do that on its own?

Cheers,

Roister01

Yes, you need to change settings (see detailed answer in the pool support thread)..

If anybody buys UTC on Cryptsy - advice is get them off that exchange by changeover time.

Otherwise they will get stuck on Cryptsy till they upgrade their wallet.  That could take 2 weeks - or possibly a LOT longer (I have DEM trapped for 5-6 months now).  They are run off their feet at present time.

Despite all the griping about withdrawals not working on Cryptsy - they certainly do work fine for UTC but make sure you upgrade to Tier 1 (supply name and address).

What is the difference between the two pools? Why is there two?
utc.yacoin.club will stay on the same wallet.
utc14.yacoin.club will use NF14 wallet.

I have requests from the miners to save original pool. That's the answer!

Beside that, it's not well known will Cryptsy upgrade their wallet? How it goes?
Official site has no actual information about upgrading process and even about important changes.

So I simply added another pool. Miners are free to choose what they will do.

Probably stupid questions for you clever folk, but here goes:

Why do I need to withdraw coins from the Ultracoin pool before midnight tonight...what if I dont?

Very clever questions indeed!  Smiley

As you can read earlier, official Ultracoin goes to mandatory update with NF14 and block reward reducing.

This changes of the Ultracoin protocol are not backwards-compatible; i.e., older client versions would not accept blocks created by the updated client, considering them invalid. Obviously, this can create a blockchain fork when nodes running the new version create a separate blockchain incompatible with the older software.

If you withdraw coins before fork point (01 Nov 2015 00:00:00 GMT), you'll be able to use them in both blockchains.

@Boris WCR

the staking is working just fine now

Just connected and got a nice stake from new wallet within a few mins

my staking time reports 1 min

UPDATE - Feck its fair humming - stakes backing up one after another.

Not getting any orphans like I used to with the old wallet.

Must need 10-14 days to get adequate coin age

staked for over 24hrs now with a new wallet

Expected time to stake 5mins

no stakes at all

will try when coins a month old - unless I hear there is an issue which has been solved

I am trying to stake with a new wallet just over a week old.  Coin age is not much.

But it says "you have mature coins for staking" Expected time to reward is 5mins.

Been staking it for 8hrs but no stake as yet.

I expect its because the coin age is not competitive in the staking pool.

I would not worry just yet

Stevan, is there a bug in the new wallet ?

... i did the download of the update v7418 a view days ago and tested it.

The wallet seems working ok with deposits and witdrawals.

But i think i see a bug, can you (all) check this please if i am right  ?

The problem i think is with staking.

If i start the wallet it gives the info "there are mature coins for staking"

But when i enable stake minting and keep the wallet open for many hours there are zero staked coins transactions ?

I did this during a view days, so zero staked coin transactions came in ?

I geuss something is wrong or do i miss something ?

Thanks for everbodys help...

The retarget block is set at block 1500000 and the reward at 10 utc from that block on.
It's not changed for the following retargets after that one, but the next one is already in place

See line 980 in src/main.cpp

int64 nRetargetUpdateStartV4 = 1500000; // fix #3  Nov 01 2015 @ 12am +/- 3 days UT target

and later on same file line 1042

else if (nHeight < nRetargetUpdateStartV4)
    {
        nSubsidy = 30 * COIN;
    }
    else if (nHeight < 6000000)
    {
        nSubsidy = 10 * COIN;
    }

Before block 1500000 the subsidy is 30 coins, from block 1500000 on and before block 6000000 the subsidy is currently 10 coins. That should be ok for now i think.
I mean, block 4000000 is several years from now, there's plenty of time to make adjustments until that time.

I just took a look at the source code and I found out that:

should go into effect sometime around November 1st

When does the NF change takes effect?

NF changes exactly Sun, 01 Nov 2015 00:00:00 GMT (UNIX TimeStamp 1446336000)

The PoW reward for block will be reduced to 10 coins sometime around November 1st (or more precisely from block height 1500000).

So NF14 and reward=10 will be as two independent events (but close in time to each other)
---

Block reward reducing really differs from what has been declared:

Change notes:

Change to 10 UTC per block pending new update
10 UTC per block - 4,000,000
5 UTC per block - 6,000,000
2.5 UTC per block - 8,000,000
1.25 UTC per block - 20,000,000
1 UTC per block - 25,000,000
.5 UTC per block - 30,000,000
.25 UTC per block - 40,000,000
.125 UTC per block - 50,000,000
.01 UTC per block - 208,145,600

Change to 2% pending new update
1.5% per year at block 4,000,000
1% per year at block 8,000,000

I'm still holding a big bag Tongue
After the change utc should easily go up to 5k-10k, as reducing the botnets coin abusing and the block reward should have an interesting impact on dumping.

just don't sell em for a while or you will lose out

Awesome!
Right in time for me to add another gpu to my rig Smiley

Would someone mind helping me create a solid configuration for a Nvidia 860M on CUDA miner? Its much appreciated.

in short:
Code:
cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt-jane:UTC -L 3 -l t23x1 -o stratum+tcp://yacoin.club:3443 -O YourUserName.WorkerName:WorkerPassword

See more detailed answer in the Pool support thread..
