Experienced this thing when i want to KYC in liquid. It seems my pic is blurred and i always get rejected. Glad their kind customer service offer me to video call with her and even my english is bad, i passed KYC on there.
In my opinion, video call for kyc is ridiculous, it would be impossible to call everyone who intends to carry out the kyc because video calls require a device which has higher resolution and stable network connection which may not be available in every participant. Its best the kyc is done with the selfie and documents of the individual.
A video call? I don't think its a great idea, but in the other side, its very useful to identify user if there is a unrecognized activity on the platform.
Of course it's a good idea to make sure we are real, many people send invalid data so they feel they are doing a video call to verify KYC and of course for large payments.

I believe that the video call is the right decision as the photo documents can be downloaded on the Internet and the introduction of such a procedure does not give such an opportunity so that everything is done correctly.
I have never passed such verification,but I think that the download of documents should be enough.Perhaps if we are talking about the withdrawal of large sums from the exchanges this is normal.
It's very strict to complete KYC and I don't like it because if you invest a large amount it's okay but you only get $ 10 from what you follow and there are those rules. very absurd.
I also think is good to have video call when do kyc and asking documents or to ask to upload a video, because no one can use our documents to do it and have trouble, if somehow someone get our documents.
I think this may be done if the results are obtained from KYC accordingly but if the payment that will be obtained from an airdrop / bounty that requires KYC is only around $1- $10 I think KYC with video calls is too excessive.
i think this is a good idea but the team check KYC cant do. If they do it, they must spend a lot of time to do that. So, check KYC by image is the best choose

You forget that KYC is provided by the legislation in many countries in order to regulate investors. And it follows that if the video call is allowed for the procedure of user identification by law, then it is possible. But I agree that it would simplify the procedure and the time required to check the documents.

Lot of people also using other I.D for using it in KYC so it's hard to know every users in Kyc for videocall is enough to confirmed that you are the person for verify it. It's very stricted also. 
Well they would have to hold their ID's alongside their face to actually confirm it's them. I Don't see the problem
I am agree, I dont think video call required for KYC because basicly KYC is just for knowing the customer and company holding the Identity in case used for criminal activity. I think providing document with proof of address is enough

I think it could be better for video call but it exerts more efforts and time, if we compared to uploading the ID and other details. It depends on the team on how they would handle their KYC requirement, but if i am going to suggest, there is no need for KYC, what for?
Kyc undoubtedly is important in the financial environment but the way most of these icos are going about it and the conditions attached in my opinion are too stringent
I am faced with this, and I think that it violates my rights, they are not enough our main documents and selfies with documents, I dont agree with it

I think you heard it wrong. They only do this because of the requirement of the law . But other than that, they would not conduct a kyc. And it will not affect the sale, because the investors properly know this part.
i think that is the best option rather than uploading documents. i prefer such method and it is okay. the best app for such services remains skype and whatapp because it is widely accepted all over. i used whatapp to run my KYC on liquid exchange and it was interesting. i can still talk to the marketing manager anything i want if i need clarification.
