Nice I was watching the last day or so. I'm interested to see how the hashrate climbs in a month or so. It depends on how many batches of say S15's pump out, and the T3(If it ships). Those could account for a large jump just by people making the operations more efficient. Until then I'd gladly take a few more .17% jumps - I use the term loosely.

We are also close to 4000 usd a coin.

With  lots of potential hash downclock or offline.

I would think  if price moves to 5000usd diff will rise to meet that quite easily

the s9,s9i,s9j    can do 9th to 15th  with newer firmware  and fast sofware reset options.
the m10           can do  20th to 32th

all of the above can move to higher hash numbers fast.

Since way back last year  we did see 55,000,000,000 gh  
I think we could go to  60,000,000,000 overnight if btc price jumps hard.

the real question is can power be supplied for that jump?

since the network did have days in the fall as high as 55,000,000,000 I would think it may be possible unless a few farms have vanished and don't mine at all. There have been reports of this. We need to watch for what we do here.

But I look to expand and swap out gear.

Although funny it happened just before a $200 jump in value 

I think you're on the right track about it being a couple of large players, whose unique situation improved.

That or they took the opportunity to perform a facility shutdown and maintenance. While profits are low its a good time to squeeze these events in.

That S9 firmware was released a while ago, i would hope any business would have upgraded after a week or so once it was verified to perform.

but I simply think   a big player or 2  had a set of  contracts for cheaper power kick in.

the s9  at low speed  is about 80 watts a th and hashes at 9th
the s9 at mid speed is about 90 watts a th and hashes at 13th

by a few software clicks a major player can boost every s9 by 4th  so

1,500 s9's  is 6ph

15,000 s9's is 60ph

150,000 s9's is 600ph

1,500,000 s9's is 6000ph  which is our jump

if you had a 4 cent contract  and now have a 2cent contract  you would crank up the s9's

A solid price drop to 2450  would push out multiple large players they would dump the gear.

We could then reconsolidate and build up again.

The last drop in price was right on time, i think a day before the diff adjustment, hashrate dropped, block time increased so it did somehow decrease the +% for the last difficulty increase.

Well I guess that is a good thing.

well sometime tomorrow we will jump 5-7%

to a diff of 5.94 and 42.6 eh hash rate

this puts us well below  Oct 4 numbers

diff of 7.45  and hash of 53.3 eh

and we did have a 1 day hash peak of 57.2

So more then 15 eh of hash is off line

And we know cheap power guys are buy m10's or s15's or t15's  we also know bitdeer is still selling contracts.

Lets look at what else could be happening.  a s9 whaling away can do 1400 watts and 14th on a standard firmware.

that is 100 watts a th

and an s9i on braiins os   can do 815 watts and  10040  that is 81 watts a th.

I think a lot of s9s are online at low settings.

An s9 set to braiins doing 815 watts and 10040 gh loses    30 cents a day at 10 cent power

So far avalon has failed to make anything worthwhile since the a841  if they make a good a941 it may add to the hash rate.
