the main reason why the prices of all altcoin keeps falling down because the holders are dumping their holdings for some reason, like latest news about crypto, more fud, and also the price of bitcoin. it does affect the price of every crypto in the market. is it time for us to buy altcoin?

Well It depends primarily on the price of bitcoin and sometimes ethereum too. People with huge popularities can also influence people regarding altcoins. The law of supply and demand can also affect altcoins' prices.

mid year is always a lean season for businesses even the chinese community has Ghost month on mid year it because, the market must recover from the new year and quarter 2 spending. this mid year sale resembles a healthy market.
I think one of the main reason make altcoin down is Bitcoin, and the cryptocurrency market is bad now. The Blue Whales is one of the reason too, they have a lot of money, and they control this market. I hope the market will be better in end of 2018
if I think one of the main reasons is because there is little popularity and demand in the market at the moment, but they all also depend on bitcoin, because we can see in general, it is impossible to guess when the price began to change, but another reason because many hamsters escaped from this token to the growing ether, I am soon recovering altcoin will continue to rise not less than the leading bitcoin and ether.
it depends on a lot of stuff, i have seen a lot of altcoins going down only because the devs are cashing out, or their advisors, or maybe the presale investors.

Price correction, panic sellers, FUD, new regulations and maybe the alleged coordinated whale who want to manipulate the market using the spoofing technique so they can buy more coins when it dips and hold a lot of percentage of that particular coins or the Bitcoin itself.
It was the new regulations which caused the crash on January this year. But no small role was played by Nobuaki Kobayashi (the Mt Gox trustee). He was also responsible for the market crash in a major way.

I think that causes the decline in altcoin value is due to the effect of bitcoin. because if the bitcoin again down the automatic altcoin will also follow-down and it's often the same with altcoin.
It is true that when a crash in bitcoin begins to happen most alts follow but this also happens when the price of bitcoin begins to pump so it is not as bad as many people think, now that does not mean that alts follow the price of bitcoin in an absolute way, if you take a more deep look at altcoins you will see that many present movements that are not aligned with the movements of bitcoin and that is because there is some internal news that is changing its behavior, this happens more commonly when there is a big development in a coin or when there are really bad news affecting the coin in question.

The price of bitcoin directly influences the other altcoin, intrinsically linked, but from my point of view, I think it is because of the regulations of cryptocurrencies in certain countries and the lack of knowledge about certain altcoin that can work above those regulations , privcy for example, allows the use of its low profile cryptocurrency, which allows its users to keep their coins without being victims of regulations without reason.
That situation is normal only in crypro world sometimes the price goes up and sometimes the price goes down also and if you know that trick you buy more and hold for long term when the price deep down and sell it when the price goes up again.
To lower prices most likely leads to low interest in a particular coin. Although other factors may influence. And in general, there is a lot of groundless growth in the market.

I think because the value of bitcoin affects the price of altcoin. I knew that some of the coins are just relying on bitcoin and I think it is one of the major reason why the price of alt is so low. is it time for us to buy altcoin?

The prices of altcoins are heavily dependent of the prices of bitcoin and as we know the price of bitcoin recently experimented a bubble and a crash so it is natural the prices of almost all altcoins to go down, but there is nothing to worry about, the price will recover but like always the problem is we do not know when that is going to happen and our only option is to hold until that day.
The price of BTC has been declining, and the market value of the whole cryptographic market has been declining, and the number of investors has been decreasing, which has accelerated the decline of altcoin price.

it is a part of crypto markets, not all the time the altcoins are in greenish or price rising , as of this day the markets are continue to down , it is now the time to stock more tokens or coins .
Altcoin is too much depends on bitcoin,if bitcoin decrease other coin will decrease too. Currently, i think the market capitalization of bitcoin accounts for almost most of the market volume.
regulation that needs to be clearly resolved to give investors security reasonable crypto-watchers could agree that the price was overheated and there was only one way for it to go in the short term incidents and the public panic that ensued drove the value of Bitcoins versus fiat currencies down rapidly
