Success might be too broad for others but for me, success is just being happy. We could have money, fame, and lots of achievements but still not be happy. For me, the true definition of success is contentment and gratefulness for the things that we have. We might not have a perfect life but if we're grateful, we will be able to appreciate the simple things that we have achieved. It's fine to chase for our dreams but we should still focus on the things that would make us happy.

The main word success, these words are relatively multi-definition depending on personal opinion to assess aspects of success based on their respective life journeys, success in my opinion is the achievement of motivation to work hard to achieve dreams from childhood to adulthood to have everything that has been expected and everything for happiness with family.

I've reviewed some of the responses to the post above to represent "the meaning of success" in tabular form.

But what world leaders think about success, the average opinion of their responses is beyond expectation, so pay attention to what they have to say about success:
  • Bill Gates, "Success is a lousy teacher. It seduces smart people into thinking they can't lose."
  • Winston Churchill, “Success is all about going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm.”
  • Thomas Edison, “Genius is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration,”
  • Warren Buffett, "Success is having people love you that you want to have love you"
  • . . .  more

Success and achievement go far beyond money, recognition, wealth and status.
Exactly, although money, recognition, wealth and status can be good measures of success, it is not success itself. Currently the biggest way people quantify success is by financial gain (money), this can be misleading as money can still be gotten without aim and purpose achieved. Hence, you cannot say it success because it does not agree with definition of success according to oxford which defines success as the "accomplishment of aim and purpose".

I think everyone have different way to define their success. But for me, my success is when I can help any people that need help and when my life or appearance is useful for everyone. Although I can't deny money, fame and achievement are a big thing that most everyone want to achieve it, but many people can easily forget you when your fame or achievement aren't helping people. It's different if you're a big contributor on your country, you might become a legend on your country.

Depends on your perspective or extent of looking into what does 'success' means. Many people would say Fame and Money defines success, but to some people, it simply means you are better than your previous self or you are at the phase of your life wherein you can do, buy, and enjoy things you did not experience before. Also there are people who views it as a state of happiness; less worried, and peacefully living. There are many ways to view such word, it just depends on what kind of people you are or what you've been through. At the end of the day we all have different sotries to tell but inspite of having different paths toward success, we are all, for sure, aiming for that thing.

Success and achievement go far beyond money, recognition, wealth and status.
You can have billions, but be absolutely not happy. Someone, on the contrary, having received 100 dollars becomes happy and shares this happiness with others! Manifestations of happiness and success can take a completely unusual form - give birth to a child, get an education, cure parents, build your own business, get a place in the company you dreamed of, visit all continents, learn a new language, .... I would not limit this question the entities you specified Smiley

In practice, success is really personal thing. For everyone its different. Who knows someone may live their house, relatives and friends to go far beyond and earn heck lot of money to live a lavish life somewhere on a private island? That might be success for someone. On the other hand, someone is happy and considers themselves successful if they made a good family, average living without any headache of financial stress and stuff like that. Its entirely personal thing these days. However, those who think what others will think about them and run for getting success just because of what others will say then that's entirely wrong protocol to live a life! For me none of them matters. All one should be worried about is happy life, a good family, friend circle and be enjoying without any fakism.

~ Money cannot buy satisfaction and happiness. ~

It depends on what brings you satisfaction and happiness. For example, having a lot of money, you can pay for education of poor but talanted people, and some of them can achieve great success in one field or another. Will that make you happy?

In short, if contributing to society in a positive way makes you happy, then money can buy satisfaction and happiness.

Also, I disagree with this statement of yours, "Being successful is being happy and satisfied with ones fully achieved dreams." Your dreams can be different in different periods of time. Your childhood dreams may seem stupid today, and achieving them can make your life worse. And the things you are dreaming of now may make you shudder ten years later.

Since a few years ago, when I need an answer I ask Google, and mostly satisfied with the results. Look at this one, for instance:

I have nothing more to add, they said it all. Smiley

The definition of success is subjective and it differs from person to person where you're asking it. Go in the remote and poor areas and neighborhood and ask them what is success to them, they'll quickly say that success is all about money, fame and riches.

But go to the rich neighborhood where people are already successful and ask them what is success about them, they'll say different answer such as healthy living, long life, happy and complete family and other things that they can be seen in the poor people.

That's why there will be a lot of description when you describe what success is and it will vary on the situation that you're currently sitting.

CONCLUSION
Let's stop making money and fame the only measure for success. Being successful is being happy and satisfied with ones fully achieved dreams. Money cannot buy satisfaction and happiness. Satisfaction and happiness is the true definition of success and anyone without this can not be declare as being successful.

Success is being measured with money, wealth and social status since the beginning of the human civilization. This will never change.
Who are you to say what should and what shouldn't be measured as success?
Happiness and satisfaction are something relative. Some people will never be satisfied and happy until the end of their lives.
99% of the people link success/satisfaction/happiness with having enough money to live a comfortable life.
Having more money means that you could get a high quality woman as a girlfriend/wife(I'm not talking about a gold digger/sugar daddy type of relationship). The consumerist imperative and the biological imperative are kinda connected to each other.

I personally see money as a tool or a bridge to success by getting Satisfaction and happiness as you mean it. In this case I slightly agree with your statement that money and fame are not the only benchmarks for success. But believe me that someone will not be famous if he is still poor and someone will also find it difficult to get satisfaction and happiness if the money is still small.

So there is another conclusion that you must underline here is "money never guarantees someone to be successful, but people who success is definitely having money and also happiness in his life. And when these two things are already in one's life, then Satisfaction and Fame will easily come to him even though every human being is very difficult to be satisfied because it is influenced by his own lust.

Success is not always about how much you have, how rich you are but actually what can be said to be successful is when you succeed in achieving what you target. Success is only the last point of every target, it can be many things because in my opinion what can make you satisfied with the results is real success.

You can't be satisfied just because you have the intention to build a house, but you will feel satisfied when your intention is proven by building a house so that you can live in the house. Success is subjective, it's not all about big things but the small things that you manage to achieve can also be categorized as success.

Many people have their different definition of success,  some people  believe success is success, it doesn't matter how it comes.
But to me the main definition of success is anything that can be achieved by merit. In life success different phases, and the end product of success in life is to be able to afford the necessary things life requires as a man.

From the early stage of life we pursue education and if it is well achieved then we can call that success,  the next stage of life is to go after our different career that can be means for survival,  no matter the amount of money it brings  it is success as far as it keeps man going.

Everyone loves to become a successful being but success definition differs for everyone. Most people see success as being fame and rich. Although money is a huge driving factor for a lot of things and an ultimate measuring stick for whether or not a business is successful but this doesn't fully define success. Success is about claiming and speaking up for what is important to you. Consider these and tell if they are successful

👉👉a rich and a famous man with a broken home
👉👉a rich and a famous man that has failed to impact on others.
👉👉a money corrupt rich and famous man
👉👉a ritualist with great fame.

Although this people are rich and famous but aren't successful at my own part. There is always a shortcut to riches and being famous but success comes through hardwork. There are many rich and famous people who have attempted suicides in their life. If being rich is being successful, then what made them to take such disastrous steps? Sanjay Dutt is a son of a famous politician and is one of the richest celebrities, Sunil Dutt. Still, he is behind lock-up. Is this what we call as success? Many gangstar becomes rich out of crime and corruption but they are not successful in our society. This is part of what causes increasement in crime rate and corruption in the world as everyone want to be rich so as to be called a successful being. A successful man is one who finds his purpose and creates a life where he can fulfill that purpose.

It seems a lot of younger people these days are seeing "streamers" as a desirable profession, it used to be footballers which at least had a athletic skill angle to it. Success is about claiming and speaking up what is important to you? Eh? Not really, there are a lot of people who spout a lot of garbage who are successful, it doesn't make them good or productive people who are benefiting society - in many cases they are helping to spread hate and division because it's easier than solving difficult problems. People should definitely focus their time and energy on the things that the like, because they're most likely to produce something valuable to others in that way.

Definition of success can be different depending on the person and depending on their situation for most people will call themselves successful if they can achieve their goals and desires and these goals and mostly related to money. in other definition, people this a rich man is a success while having money is all and money won't bring anything itself if you ask me I would say I'm fighting for success and there is no limit for me, even if I have lots of money and happy family and fame and become a famous man still we will fight for success because there is no limit for it.

Speaking of relative success for me. Success is when simple things we no longer forget how to make people around us happy with the results of our hard work. Success is not only about finances, because for me like the piece of the story you shared above, the fact is also that money does not guarantee happiness and cannot buy happiness. Happiness grows from someone's emotional expression when what he hoped for a long time is achieved and gives positive feedback to the people around him. Success in the sense here will vary, career, family, and success like me are given the trust to have more offspring.

Ok, let me jump into your conclusion.
Yes, it's not always the money or fame that determines your success. It is indeed happiness and satisfaction. HOWEVER, happiness is somehow tied with money and humans are naturally born to be dissatisfied (consistent technological advancements and new inventions are the huge evidence of it).
Now, IMO success has a different levels and it doesn't stop at some point, It continues until your body are no longer able to pursue the next level of your success in life.
Let's say you just graduated, got a college degree - that's called success right? Because you satisfied your desire to finish your study. Let's start there as level 1. Next level would be getting your dream job, and then getting your own business, then expanding it over and over again. I always believe people is never satisfied with what they currently have. You might be feeling satisfied at some point in your life, but the next morning you'll realize you still have desires to reach the next level of your success.

[Nope]No hype delivers more than hope
-snip-
Satisfaction and happiness is the true definition of success and anyone without this can not be declare as being successful.
But is there anyone who really achieves satisfaction?
When people reach one stage of success, they will try to achieve another (greater) success. That's how people define their own non-constant success goals, where they reach a higher point then they will find new thoughts that affect the goal. And changing the financial aspect for the better is the majority of their success goals.
Uncontested.
