Mostly because they think that when prices are dropping like now is the right time to enter the market and choose some altcoins that are expected to provide profits when the market recovers, and altcoins are one of the markets that still provide profits, even though it's not easy to keep believing in them, but people who actually enter the market in relatively bad conditions like today will actually enjoy the results.

I think investing in altcoins is indeed very risky, but if we are lucky we will get big profits, but I think the market decline has had several impacts on crypto investors, including panic buying altcoins because of speculation that the market will recover soon and will get big profits from altcoins.

but there are also investors who are afraid to buy altcoins during a bear market because they speculate that altcoins during a bear market will have the potential to fall deeper.

In my opinion, if you invest in altcoins, you can say that it's fine even if the market is bear or bull as long as we invest in quality altcoins, but during a bear market, if you invest in altcoins that are of less quality, the price will potentially go down and it will be difficult for price to potentially come back. even in a bull market. In my opinion, what makes me afraid to invest in altcoins is because of the high fluctuations and high risk.

What i learnt for several years is people is waiting the good moment to buy it even on this bear market situation. Some people already aware that bitcoin halving will happen next year so maybe they hold their fund to invest in later on next bull run. People are getting smarter they know the timing of investing in cryptocurrency.

The recent price drop of Bitcoin and some bad news on the market may cause a new round of FUD for investors. With the price going down, Bitcoin will be more volatile in the short term and the Altcoins that depend on Bitcoin will go through more ups and downs. In this bear market, more investors are hesitant to any Altcoin investment. Apart from the macro environment factor, what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.

indeed for now the price of Bitcoin and altcoin is down, but this is my opportunity to invest in altcoin, because I'm sure that in a few years or even as soon as possible the price of Bitcoin and altcoin will definitely increase very high again (can even create a new ATH), but of course, I will invest in altcoin that have a great potential to give me a lot of profit (I invest on ETH and BNB), because in my opinion the price of these altcoin will definitely increase very high and of course it is safe to invest in these altcoin for the long term.
yes iam agree , There are several factors that might hold someone back from investing in altcoins or cryptocurrencies. It's important to note that individual perspectives can vary, but here are some common reasons. Volatility and Risk Altcoins tend to be more volatile than established cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin or Ethereum. Sudden price fluctuations can lead to substantial gains but also significant losses. Many potential investors are wary of this high level of risk.

Uncertainty. Almost every altcoin has shown a tiny amount of trust in their projects whenever they get launched. There is always one sort of trauma that wobbles the mind in negativity. I don't know, but it is also one of the psychological effects that 99% of projects getting failed, and our investments are getting sucked into scams. Ever read or heard the same thing happening with Bitcoin? I don't think so and that is the reason psychologically I am more pushed toward Bitcoin making me comfortable to invest. This is not the case with the altcoins. I am not saying all of them are the same but there is always that trauma back of my mind that makes me hold into the Altcoins. Now some of you might say that how can psychology can matter but yeah it does and in many ways for sure.

Most altcoins have not been able to achieve consistent price stability and return to ATH levels. Even XRP, which is among the top 10 coins according to CMC data, failed to reach ATH levels during the recent bull season. Yes, XRP has been clamped by the SEC, but that's the general picture. I may invest in some good projects like ETH and ADA or some coins with solid capital backing like BNB for the medium term. However, my concerns are centered on the price instability of altcoins and this is reason enough for me not to trust them.
I understand entirely how buying those altcoins and watching them fail to return to their ATH must have felt. "Why are you doing this to me, dear altcoins?" is how it feels. Yes, XRP is also not a party. Its mired in controversy with the SEC, and that's only the start of the whole thingf

But, um, have you looked at other options? For example, there are ETH, ADA, and well-established coins with substantial capital, such as BNB. Investment is similar to fishing. You don't always land the enormous fish. You occasionally need to search for the little, sparkling ones as well. The same as those altcoins, right?

You dont trust altcoins because they seem a little shaky, then. That would be like not trusting the weather because it can change anytime! You ought to take another look at those altcoins. But hey, to each their own, you are free to follow your investment route

Price volatility in Altcoins is more than BTC. In most cases, Altcoin won't return to its all-time high, and investors lose their money. They are suitable only for short-term investment. When they reach ATH, sell them and do not reinvest in that coin, the probability is that you might lose your investment. Thousands of projects have been launched in the past, but only a few have the potential to survive the market. So, it is better not to invest in Altcoins when there is market uncertainty.

As I am more of a long-term guy, I am more focused on investing into BTC and ETH. The rest of the altcoins are just for short and mid-term only.

What holds me back is the high risk part if I do not know how to do the right timing in buying and selling these short and mid-term altcoins.

Of course, they are the ones that would give us profits of x10, x100, x1000 etc., but the risk is just very high if not doing enough research and timing to sell it for profit.

In fact almost all tokens will have haters and they are good at spreading fud constantly so stay away from them and invest in the best coins.
Because of FUD judgment many times new investors are not encouraged to invest even in good currencies, moreover FUD always attracts more new investors.

You own the pen
The good thing about investing in Bitcoin only is you don't have any regret whenever the price will drop as soon as you put your money because at the end of the day, the price will continue to change and in the future judging by its history price chart, the price will always recover just trust the process and wait. The problem is when you invested some money that is not supposed to be used for investment because that would be the main problem when the price will not stay and will drop your capital will be greatly subsided which you will need to forcibly get it back because you are afraid for the price to further goes down again.

What's holding me back is that the altcoin's price is undervalued according to its fundamental analysis,
So from that analysis I bought some that I thought were good, namely NMR and C98,
you can buy these two altcoins on Binance and of course you don't have to worry about their potential.
this is the same reason why I haven't make any plan to hodl Bitcoin because of it is undervalued, and not reliable to hodl for a long time. But I think I know of few altcoins which I can buy  from my reserve savings later , but right now the money I have to invest is not for altcoins because I can't take the risk knowing fully  well how risky altcoins are. The past experience I have seen in altcoins is what is still hoding me to invest in altcoins.

investing in altcoin honestly is rather hard, there are just many ways that our investment could just vanish into thin air, that's why sometimes it always make me hesitant, i think i will only invest if the project is really good.

therefore I suggest you if you want to invest in altcoin, then you have to invest in altcoin which are in the top 10 on coinmarketcap, because it is safer and the price will definitely increase, so you will get profit and not lose your money, especially now is the right time for you to invest, because the market is correcting and when a bull market occurs, then of course you will get profit from investing at this time.

Top 10 altcoins on coinmarketcap not only more popular then other altcoin but also less risky. They are more stable. If you do not want to risk too much it is better to invest in top 10 altcoins.

When a bear market occurs, the thing that makes me not want to invest in altcoins is that I'm afraid the price will fall. even more so if it is a new altcoin. although this can be seen as an opportunity to increase the number of altcoins at a low price, it is quite difficult to invest again when we still have these altcoins. seeing its value fall is enough to make a lot of people frustrated.
However, it's only natural that people hesitate to adopt an altcoin when the price is dropping, even CEOs of many new projects understand the same thing. they sometimes delay their token sale if market conditions worsen. however, some people wouldn't hesitate to buy bitcoin or the popular altcoin in the current situation.
In the actually sense, the bear market is actually a good time to bag some coins, but i think the problem is buying at the bottom level so that you won't lose much money again and the way to do that is to choose your bottom price

The cryptocurrency market has been volatile for a sometimes now, which everyone was thinking that Bull Run was about to start, before the bad News that came up by weaken the cryptocurrency market that effect Bitcoin price which is the driving force of other cryptocurrency market, and is good for investors to invest by giving an opportunity of good entry point, if the market we maintain the current price and move up, which is: polygon Matic, ADA, Shiba Inu, and other alt-coins that is already established are good to invest.
