You must have a strategy and plan on what altcoin you want to buy, for me if the altcoin price is the same % as the bitcoin price there is no point to invest in altcoin, better to invest in bitcoin only. You must have searching and research what altcoins have a deviation increase from bitcoin, for example, if bitcoin price increases 10% then you must search for altcoins with have more potential increase than 10% i.e. 15%, 20%, or more. that's where the main point of profit is from altcoins.

It was not necessary to study and make research in all altcoins, you're just wasting your time instead, make prior to altcoins that already have a good market performance during the last bear season as it is likely they are having the same scenario. Smart investors don't just invest in Bitcoin alone but make their journey to altcoins as well and with their volatility, somehow give them the chance to possibly earn more than just Bitcoin. In fact, we have noticed that altcoins are growing, meaning many people have an interest in them and are willing to invest despite the risk.

I doubt altcoins are growing at least in price,I don't know about people buying/mining/getting them but the marketcap of such coins does not increase in the same way the leader does which is Bitcoin.Normally Bitcoin has increased in price well over 8000 dollars but I am not seeing such increase in the same percentage from popular altcoins like Doge,SHIBA,Ethereum,Ethereum Classic,Litecoin and many others, for me this is a clear sign that altcoins are not the people favorite's anymore like they were in the first bull run of 2017.

Altcoins are more volatile than bitcoin which is why many people have doubts about investing. But for me, I will continue to buy my preferred altcoins that have long-term potential. I also believe that bitcoin's growth won't be that much high compared to the previous years due to its growing capitalization unless there is a worldwide adoption or most parts of the world will consider it as legal tender. Some altcoins on the other hand have the potential to pump x10 to even x100 in the next few years.
But with the volatility of these coins makes us investors the chance to profit more than Bitcoin. That is why despite the risk we see, many people still have the guts to buy altcoins and hype projects as they think that it was their advantage. In fact, earning x1000 is not impossible in altcoins during Bullrun but if we talk about long-term investment, that seems not really a good idea as these coins will likely dump and be hard to recover.
As for me, altcoins give more attraction in the crypto market.

"Earning x1000 is not impossible in altcoins during Bullrun" is exactly why so many people are still keen to altcoins despite the high risks. I see that humans are half rational and half irrational. Everyone knows Bitcoin is the most reliable and less volatile cryptocurrency but how come many altcoins survived and still exist today ? Sometimes we all have this "all-in" gamble guts and believe we are the lucky ones, apparently which is not true. Maybe the only chance to win big in altcoins is to find one reliable project, study it, invest in it and grow with it.

That's true. I was mostly investing in Bitcoin when it was around $20K, but now I think about investing in altcoins again. Their price is up too, but pump potential is higher.

Altcoin is a higher risk investment, it's not something you can rush to do, you need to do some thoroughly research or risk getting into the hands of rugpull projects, I have invested into metaverse and A.I projects but I have handful of new projects I am waiting for, I will buy after the launch.

The market has been volatile for some time, but now the market is back to normal. Bitcoin price has already crossed $28K last night. Other coins dependent on Bitcoin have already started to increase in market value. So for the time being, the worries about the market are gone now it is time to invest in Bitcoin and other ALT coins. I hope the market is not as volatile as before.
so why after passing 28k there is no need to worry ? after it is above 28k, will the bitcoin price not go down again?
The crypto market is unpredictable and very sensitive to negative news. maybe right now you feel safe because lately the price of bitcoin has increased dramatically, but what if after this there is negative news regarding the world economy and causes crypto prices to fall?

Indeed. It's never too cautious to think about your investment. Speaking of negative news, the most traumatic ones might be the uncertain future about the Russia-Ukraine war. A lot of recent moves coming from the west indicate that the tension is escalating rapidly and the war is likely to expand to more countries/areas, which is terrible to all of us. In nowadays, keeping your money and investment safe is the top priority.

Once a man, twice a child!
The recent price drop of Bitcoin and some bad news on the market may cause a new round of FUD for investors. With the price going down, Bitcoin will be more volatile in the short term and the Altcoins that depend on Bitcoin will go through more ups and downs.
Your statement seems somehow contradictory. From the time you made that comment till now, Bitcoin had been in an upsurge. I don't know where the bear angle in your comment came from.

Apart from the macro environment factor, what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.
Nothing holds me back from investing in altcoin. In fact, if it will count for anything, I've more invested cash in alts than I've in Bitcoin. Those who are staying away from alts do so because they're adverse to risk. Investments in alts are riskier than that in Bitcoin.

Altcoins can also be your good investment, but since not everyone is ok to invest with make sure you analyze before you make a decision.
I don't like altcoins with too much hype even if they have no usage in this market, because after that hype you can expect for that token to slowly die and be nothing. Good altcoins can be more rewarding, there are times where you can get more profit with altcoins compare to Bitcoin. Perfect timing is also a key here, don't just buy altcoins know when to timing the market.
Analyzing the market well is the ticket to perfect timing. I know we can't do it perfectly but at least buying potential coins saves us from losing our money instead, they will give us ROI. That is why we should have to take it easy in choosing coins for investment, not only based on their name and popularity or their rank but also we have to consider the current performance and it should be bought during corrections, not when bullish.
Honestly, some altcoins are even more profitable compared to Bitcoin but yes, invest with caution.

Agreed. Analyzing the market well is key to perfect timing. Actually, knowing the perfect timing is not enough because having the courage and capital to invest is what brings timing to fruitful outcome. I've seen many people who could analyze the market systematically end up in nowhere because they lack the decisiveness to invest and the enough capital to invest with. At last, they just complained about the bad luck and proved to other people that what they predicted was right. To them, nothing was gained.

(...)They are trying to create something in different industries. Finance, banking, AI, gaming, and more. I think what's best is to find that one project that you could easily understand. Where it connects with you, not something you are forced with just because they are in the hype and being bought by many investors.
I see the problem that the products have to be really put into operation to bring sustainable value, not just as much theoretical as the appearance of altcoins today.
With so many altcoins, just waiting for the right moment and it will rise like jets, I see many devs in the past have also tried to think of many things to find a connection, and over time they also remove them from the game.
Basically this market is generally divided into parts: BTC, ETH, top altcoin, stablecoin, shitcoin trendig.

For me, what holds me back from investing in Altcoins is the lack of understanding of the technology and the risk associated with investing in them. Many Altcoins have their own unique features and technologies that can be difficult to understand.
there is the risk of scams and bad actors in the crypto space, which can be difficult to identify and protect against. Furthermore, most Altcoins are highly volatile, making them risky investments.
Volatility is always glued with risk.
You have good points though, investing with altcoin is kind of confusing these days. They are trying to create something in different industries. Finance, banking, AI, gaming, and more. I think what's best is to find that one project that you could easily understand. Where it connects with you, not something you are forced with just because they are in the hype and being bought by many investors.
You won't like the ending of those type of coins, most investors fall in love with them and forgets to take profits until they find out they are not in a good selling point anymore.

Never put all your eggs in one basket. You have practiced this well. I like your 5:5 Btc/Alt ratio because it looks safer than solely investing in one coin. I believe a bull market is on the way so it's better for us to be well prepared. I will adopt your principle to play safe.(...)
Basically, each person will have their own story about understanding the market. I don't like what's too original to the framework, it's better to adapt to the present and don't be disappointed.
With this market it has provided so many life changing opportunities so I am very grateful and appreciative of that. The humility of many super rich people, and also the exposure of the lie about reputation Smiley . All in all, a great environment that I find more valuable than the old school lessons.

actually I'm not afraid to invest in altcoins as long as we have to know good altcoins. because even though bitcoin prices go down and altcoins usually go down, but usually when bitcoin prices go up, altcoin prices usually go up
so in my opinion in this case there is nothing to fear as long as there are still many bitcoin enthusiasts.

Indeed, when the price of bitcoins increases, the price of altcoins also increases. Only the price of altcoins increases much more than the price of BTC. And, accordingly, on the contrary, when the price of BTC decreases, the price of altcoins decreases by a higher percentage. That is why investing in altcoins has a higher risk.

In this bear market, more investors are hesitant to any Altcoin investment. Apart from the macro environment factor, what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.

It's a known fact in crypto that Bitcoin is the best crypto currency to hold in a bear market, because most altcoins won't have the ability to survive the pressure of the news and sell off that could happen, so Bitcoin is the most trusted one during this period. These days, the price of Bitcoin has taken good action by crossing the 200 WMA. Let us see if it can sustain this rise, so that could mark the beginning of another bull market, although that's mostly excluded in this period.
Another reason that holds me back from investing in some altcoins is the uncertainty  about the future of some sort of altcoins. Some news talked about the terminating of POS coins, even ETH was mentioned in some pieces of news. Therefore, I prefer to wait until the start of the next bull to have a clearer picture of the regulations and the future of these altcoins.
