I think you misjudged altcoins. In the basic context, maybe in the past altcoins mostly depended on bitcoin but in fact now they don't. so maybe some of my friends also agree that holding altcoins is safer than bitcoin because bitcoin currently has a lot of influence from various kinds of alliances

high risk high return, that word is always there when everyone hears the word of altcoins, altcoins are indeed more volatile than bitcoin, but that is also what attracts people, as well as makes people afraid to invest in altcoins and prefer bitcoin

The recent price drop of Bitcoin and some bad news on the market may cause a new round of FUD for investors. With the price going down, Bitcoin will be more volatile in the short term and the Altcoins that depend on Bitcoin will go through more ups and downs. In this bear market, more investors are hesitant to any Altcoin investment. Apart from the macro environment factor, what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.
I think investing in altcoins is good for short term and the ups and down of btc has a huge effect of the altcoin price and it will cause a big advantage if we will invest in altcoin and hold till we will have an opportunity to sell at our limit price to earn a huge amount of profit, because if we invest in btc we need to wait a very long term before we can earn.

if the market is still bearish and lots of fud news, then bitcoin is unstable and altcoins will follow the movement of bitcoin, basically altcoins will always follow bitcoin,
that my thoughts.
disagree, even if under normal circumstances (no FUD) the price of bitcoin would still be unstable. and unfortunately not all altcoin prices always follow bitcoin price movements because I often find altcoin prices moving opposite to bitcoin prices. after all the percentage increase or decrease in the price of bitcoin and altcoins is often different.

Altcoins prices don't have to follow Bitcoin price. Those who follow Bicoin price closely tend to be more volatile and can boost confidence when bull market comes. The altcoins whose prices are usually opposite Bitcoin price are hard to predict and involve more risks. Anyone who can gain profit from the highly risky altcoins is smart and worth the investment returns. I hope to be one of them one day.

If there's anything holding me back from investing in altcoins, it's when I have doubts about them. however, the poor market conditions made altcoin prices fall especially popular altcoins. it is the best condition to invest as many popular altcoin prices are on discount. However, that does not apply to altcoins that are not well known. if I am interested in an altcoin, and the market movement is bad, then I will refrain from investing in that altcoin, and see how the altcoin survives in bad market conditions.

altcoins take a long time before the price will increase higher which is part of the reason I always like to invest my money on Bitcoin, because whenever Bitcoin is pumping in the market other cryptocurrencies price will be struggling to pump. Now that the price of altcoins are preparing to remain stable like Bitcoin, I think many traders will invest in altcoins and Bitcoin to have hope of achieving something special from their investment when the price change positively in the future. Now that I have enough money in this season, I will try to invest in altcoin in this period so that I will have something profitable to achieve from my altcoins investment before the end of December.

What holds me back from investing in altcoins? Simple, It's bitcoin! Majority of my portfolio consist of bitcoin and that is how much I believe on bitcoin no matter that kind of bad new on the market it has. All of crypto has been attacked for many years now with FUDS, Bans, and everything to make it fall but I always believe that bitcoin is the one which will always recover. There are good altcoins that really don't recover after a very big dump happen and this is normal for those who lose their community support. There are good things about altcoin investment such as the higher profit margin that you can get and the faster price movement of it but also there are some risks along with it. It will just depends on you on why you will invest in altcoins and what altcoin are you investing.

Today, investing in altcoins is not very promising, since the market is not stable and investing money until the market is stable is not very desirable and you can lose your savings. I think that it is worth waiting until the market stabilizes.it was possible to invest in 2017 and get a good profit from altcoins
actually there are many promising altcoins out there it just finding one can be quite difficult in general but just see optimism, arbitrum, and many more they are quite good for long term holding, moreover we haven't hit the altcoin season yet i'd say once altcoin season is here, many will increase significantly.

Bad news always has its impact besides I've been in a situation like that to take a bit from a situation like that to hold short term when there's a bounce then I let it go.  something like that is quite successful but comes with a big risk as well and you have to choose a popular altcoin

You say it right and people never stop thinking that altcoins are a great venue in crypto especially when the bull season is coming, you can't just simply ignore that chance of tripling (or more) your money if got lucky. So while people are buying Bitcoin during the bear season, they are now selling some of it to allocate for altcoins. Many new projects will get in hype during the bull season and they are started looking for a gem. Well, I assume that everyone is aware of the situation that altcoins will pump more than Bitcoin.
I don't think that's what I mean by ignoring the opportunity to multiply my money if I'm lucky, but I mean with the current conditions we all know that altcoins are easy for us to get and prices are very affordable, and it's easy to get profits, and don't choose the wrong altcoin either, because could lead to bearish.

Despite the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies and altcoins, investing in them can still cause certain concerns and obstacles among the population. For example, many people do not understand how cryptocurrencies work and do not feel confident about their knowledge and experience. In addition, the presence of high volatility and risks associated with investing in cryptocurrencies may deter some potential investors. Other obstacles may be the lack of available tools for investing in cryptocurrencies, lack of market transparency, high commissions, and the complexity of the process of buying and selling cryptocurrencies.

Well since we are still experiencing a 'bear market’, and it still remains a dangerous time to invest at the moment. I also do not think this is a good time to be investing in Altcoins especially newer ones. We just can not be so sure if it is a scam project or a pump and dump.
I think it is safe to say that you would be better off investing in Bitcoin if you want to invest. It is better then risking investments in Alt coins because we know the price of BTC will rise once again. We can not be so sure about investing in Altcoins.

It is natural that investors will be a little cautious about investing in altcoins when the market is highly volatile. Because if Bitcoin has a few ups and downs, it will be multiplied several times in altcoins. So I don't think there is anything wrong with being a little cautious. Because money is dear to everyone and no one wants to lose it easily.
But many people take this time as an opportunity and invest in altcoins.

When the markets are going down or the price of Bitcoin is going down, there are many people who are afraid and shy away from investing in Alt coins.Since Bitcoin is the king of all cryptocurrencies, investing in Alt coins is a very difficult decision if its value is falling. My own experience has been that when Bitcoin gets close to 15000, I feel threatened by investing in any cryptocurrency.Because everyone loves their capital. And then people have also seen the situation of Luna, where a lot of money was lost.FTX has also seen crashes where many people lost their capital. If such strong and popular coins can be eliminated then who can trust the alt coins. And then every trader avoids investing in altcoins when the market is crashing badly. Then people only trust Bitcoin here And Bitcoin is also reliable.Because Bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency with the lowest risk of loss.

the fact that most of them just gonna outright fail, lets be frank here, these altcoins investing are like gambling, you just don't know whats the outcome despite having made some proper analysis in regard of the coin it could always fails at the end of the day, i'd assume if you truly want to invest in altcoin only invest in the ones that have been invested by massive ventures, otherwise you're really gonna be speculating.

Apart from the macro environment factor, what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.
There are too many altcoins that can compete with each other in a range. This makes it difficult for me to capture and unlock the potential of those altcoins and pick them up. The best way I do it is to create a multi-altcoin allocation portfolio. Also, the biggest problem we face is fake altcoins and scams. For altcoins, choosing the top altcoin is always encouraged and chosen more by those reasons. with those difficulties, Bitcoin has always been my primary choice.

Yes there are too many altcoins but would that stop me from investing in altcoins, No! This would never stop me that is why we need to know what we want before entering the market. The market is huge enough for us to make the right choice that we will not keep making the same mistakes over again. Altcoins is good but the problem is finding the right coin for us to hold.
