Investing in altcoins is still a good idea but it is still important to be skeptical because there are still scam projects and nonpotential altcoins that might only trap their investors. Some altcoins are worth investng and there are also altcoins to be avoided. Maybe the reason why there are people who are holding themselves back from investing in altcoins is the fear of losing their funds because of the wrong pick of coins. That's why it is always advised to choose well-established altcoins so we can have a better guarantee of gaining profit.
What is holding people back is the huge amount of scams that exist on the altcoin market, if the ratio of good projects and bad projects was reasonable I think we will see a great deal of more interest coming from the community, but since there are so many bad altcoins out there people simply feel they will be wasting their money by investing their money in those coins, and if that is the case they might as well just buy bitcoin and be done with it, and save themselves the headache of investing in a new altcoin and all the risk this entails.

I am sorry but bitcoin was a dollar, and now it is over 25k, do you really think that the coin you are trying to shill could end up with 25k+ increase? I really do not think so, it's impossible. This is why it's hard to take them seriously as well.
I have invested twice in 2 different projects that made me over 1000x, and several times to projects that have made over 100x. Some of them actually paid 50x my investment back just with free airdrops later on. Those add up.
While it's given that you would have to find right ones and most of them are just going to ground, you most definitely can hit gold with those. Comparing them to eth and btc is a pipe dream, but sometimes it's better to gamble and buy some low caps. I speak it from experience from someone who has missed some serious boats and stiil found new ones.
I made most of my money from selling pumped coins that don't exist any more but also sold my eth when it was $12 because i listened to bitcoin maxis and thought it was overpriced and bnb when it was around $1 so i know something about regret.
Thanks for sharing your experiences that could teach us a lesson. I find that "timing" determines everything involved in crypto investment. I tend to believe that you are quite a knowledgeable and experienced investor and of course you made a lot of money out of crypto investments but still, you have your own regrets that may have made you even more successful. To most of us, the most difficult part is the timing, knowing when to buy in and out. Anyway, this needs a lot of factors especially luck.
