indeed in investing bitcoin is the best coin, but that does not mean altcoin investment is not safe, it depends on what altcoin we invest. for me ethereum, bnb and polygon make great altcoins to invest long term. but it will be very risky if we invest in new altcoins where there are not many communities, and of course it will be very volatile and likely to be manipulated, but if we can take advantage of the moment it will certainly be very profitable, even though it is risky

They are basically high-risk projects with no good or sustainable product. Many of them are simply Ponzi schemes with fraudulent team members. It will really take a good deal of searching to see really sincere and good projects that actually provide solutions to problems and can stand long term

Can you specify who are those "investors" that are hesitant to invest into altcoin? Because as far as I know, only the newbies are the ones who are hesitant to invest in a Bear Market.

Whether it is Bitcoin or any Altcoin out there, investing in a Bear Market is always an opportunity. I mean you can buy Altcoins in a cheaper price so why going to be hesitant to buy? In terms of which coin to buy, at least pick those at the top and make some research before buying. I don't see any reason why investors are hesitant to buy altcoins during a bear market aside from the fact that there are numerous scam projects/altcoins out there, but you can prevent it thru avoiding those new projects and focus more on the altcoins that have been there for a long time.

Focusing on the top altcoins will reduce the risk hence, investors will not be hesitant to buy altcoins during a bear market.

Aside from what others mentioned in here about scams and rug pulls, my experience in day trading back in my days just made me stick with Bitcoin. I encountered lots of losses through majority of coins I day traded and it just happens that day trading is not meant for me. That's perfectly fine for me either way to still keep on holding one coin since Bitcoin already gave me greater experience in hodling rather than day trading.

I hope it does not discourage you OP to keep on pushing your projects though as I believe you are a part of a team in a project based on your post history. If you're truly a legitimate anyway, you're going to be okay.

If bitcoin's price will go down, the altcoins price crash, and just a few exemptions to others that currently launching their upgrade or new features that will cause the price of their coins to rise. other than that, it's all about bitcoins and this is what most people don't know because they always support altcoins before bitcoins that's why they often found themselves in a situation where they cannot recover their capital back because they left the most important foundation of investment which is to push bitcoins price forward and to make only altcoins as their second option when it comes for their crypto investment.

what truly holds you back from investing in Altcoins ? Please let me know your thoughts.
I had some altcoins and the reason I couldnt invest more is that I am stuck up with my buying power and still recovering from the bull to bear phase since not all has been dumped during the bull season. So holding my alts is likely an alternative of buying new ones. Yes its really tempting to buy now due to a lot of bargain sales but we cant do anything if we dont have resources to invest with.

Uhm I think there are several factors that could hinder investors to invest in Altcoin, some of them are :
1. Lack of regulation: Altcoins are not as regulated as traditional investments, which makes them more risky and potentially susceptible to fraudulent activities.
2. Volatility: Altcoins tend to be more volatile than traditional investments, which means they can experience significant price fluctuations in short periods of time.
3. Limited liquidity: Many altcoins have low trading volumes, which can make it difficult to buy or sell them at a desired price.
4. Lack of track record: Most altcoins are relatively new and have not been tested over a long period of time, which makes it difficult to assess their long-term potential.
5. Lack of widespread adoption: Many altcoins have limited adoption, which may limit their potential for long-term growth.

actually there are many opportunities to benefit from investing in altcoins, but that doesn't reduce the possibility of being exposed to fraud,
I only invest in eth and bnb because these 2 coins can provide benefits in the future even though they have decreased
if i want to get instant profits, I usually follow meme coins, after pumping and getting profits I sell everything and just leave it

There are many drawbacks that is stopping someone like me from investing on some Altcoins. The Altcoins I mostly feel scared to invest in are those Altcoins that are build on other chains and not standing on there own. Example like does on ETH, BNB, polygon, sol chain. Although these coins are top Altcoins but should any that happen to them as the parent coin on the chain then it could affect the other Altcoins on same chain

It depends on what kind of alt-coins we are talking about?
Because I don't really mind investing on some alt-coins, it is just that most of the newest alt-coins tends to fall easily and it is too risky that is why I am avoiding it.
Those are like high risk high return kind of investment, If I would risk my money I want it to be on the ones that has already been tested and had proven from time to time that they could withstand the crypto storms.

The amount of scam and rug pull that happen in the altcoin industry is the one huge reason why I keep myself away from investing in altcoin start-ups.  Most of the altcoin with crowdfunding are just money grab offering nothing on the industry and are just a copy of the old one or the one that got popular.  Among the thousands of new altcoin released every week, we are lucky if we find one that is not a money grab.

So I usually ignore any start-up that offers initial sales unless their project has new innovations to offer and the innovation is proven to be feasable.

We all know that Bitcoin is here before any Altcoin. This at times, Hold me back. But most time, I feel like some altcoins are just ponzi in styles although not all. That also hold me back.
The main thing that hold me back is use case and Tokenomics of some altcoins. At times, its obvious that some coins are just temporary but many will still buy and FOMO. And you will also see some coins with no specific usecase or form of coin management. Whenever I notice that, I stay away.

If the altcoins are not even in the top 25 in the market I'm not going to invest in these altcoins, they cannot sustain their roadmap and many of these altcoins failed to fulfill their goal, they started on hype and just die down, checking my portfolio on altcoins it is 80% down, most of these altcoins are play to earn and NFT which did not live to its expectation, one example of this is DPET launched when Axie was having a great run I bought it $8 and now its down 99% of its all-time high, big lesson here is do not invest on hype and check its long term potential.

As someone who values genuine innovation and progress, I completely agree that investing in altcoins can be a gamble with high risks. While some altcoins may promise higher returns than Bitcoin, the truth is many of these projects are simply clones of real-world technologies that exist solely to pump and dump. Instead, I like to invest in real technology and progress that will make a meaningful impact on society.

It's understandable that many are hesitant to invest in new altcoins, especially with the current bear market hitting them the hardest. However, I do believe that there are some altcoins with a solid foundation for the next bull run. As an investor, I choose to be cautious and make informed decisions about where to allocate my funds. As someone already said, we must keep a level head and consider the long-term potential of new projects with strong fundamentals.

The most important reason: Coinmarketcap historical data (https://coinmarketcap.com/historical/).

Except for some major altcoins, no altcoin can be a long term investment. Most altcoins in the market are trying to fool investors with false promises. Maybe a small part of them set out with good intentions but fail to achieve their goals. Another small part cannot reach its purpose due to the global conjuncture. However, as a result, the vast majority of them are disappointing to investors. In my opinion, investors who do not have enough experience in this market should not invest in altcoins long-term.

The fact that most of them are not good? Isn't that good enough reason to stay away from %99.99 of them. I think you can shill whatever you want to shill and that's fine, there is nothing wrong with that and if you want to keep shilling it, then go ahead and do it, not going to work and it would get negative attention instead of positive so I would highly advise against it, but if you want to do it anyway then there is nothing stopping you. However, I personally have invested into 4.5 coins, 4 seriously, one very little and I can say that I am not going to invest into anything more than that until the bull run starts.

Ain't a new thing in this industry. The thing which would more likely give doubt to people who are planning to invest in altcoins is higher rate of market price volatility compared to Bitcoin. It has something to do with market supply, volume and demand. Most of the newly released tokens' price in this industry are falling upon public or token sale which is a threat for those who are not aware of such possibility or in particular with new investors. Also, it is hard to determine which coin to invest given that not all projects are succeeding in a long run unlike with huge names already which endures market price pumps and dumps.

Just the fact that some altcoins fail to live up to what they want to offer. The risk is relatively bigger in investing in altcoins compared to Bitcoin (imo), and projects not really doing anything to fulfill their end of the bargain and is only there to suck up the money of their initial investors isn't really helping me in actually being invested to doing altcoin research. It's also why I'm mostly going for well know altcoins already, it may take a longer time compared to investing into a completely new coin, but it's relatively safer in comparison.

Maybe the risk is too big to invest in Altcoins, it's not about how much profit you will get, but investors know very well which one is safe to invest now or in the future, because something can happen in this bear market , all investors will refrain from buying Altcoins, because if forced to buy the risk is not only a small amount of loss but it could have spent their money, no one knows when it will end in this bear market, because all investors are still refraining from post bear market and waiting for the bull market to return..

I have plans to hold a lot of altcoins very soon, it's just that if btc makes a new low we could see another 80% drop on altcoins.
